Results: Perkins Objectives for FY21-FY24
Improve existing Programs of Study (POS) as well as develop and implement new POS that are in high demand, high wage, or high skill occupations.
Increase the rigor of work-based learning programs in existing POS and new POS through internships and apprenticeships.
Increase access and success of the special population students through focused structures, activities and support aligned with CLC’s Achieving the Dream and Equity in Student Access and Success Plan.
Expansion of Nontraditional Occupations (NTO) career awareness and exploration with increased participation and completion of POS.
Develop data collection methods for special population groups and regular reporting on Perkins outcomes using CLC’s student information system.

Community Partnership: Youth Conservation Corp

Overview of YCC Programs
YCC Mission: Guide and mentor young adults using education, job sills training and community service to help develop productive citizens.
- Summer Youth Conservation Program - in partnership with Lake County Forest Preserve District. The Corps Network AmeriCorps members earn an education award.
- YouthBuild Program - 16 – 24 year old, disconnected youth earn GED/HSD, learn construction skills (building affordable housing), earn industry recognized certifications, develop leadership and life skills, and get placed into a career pathway or post secondary education.
- Post Secondary & CTE Program - in partnership with LC Workforce Development (WIOA, etc.), CLC and other training providers.
