Cyril’s Joke of the Month …. A man owns a small farm near Wagga. The Department of Labour claims he is not paying proper wages to his staff and sends a representative out to investigate him. “I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them,” demands the rep. “Well”, replies the farmer, “there’s my farm hand. I pay him $200 per week plus free meals and board. The cook has been here 18 months and I pay her $150 a week plus free meals and board. Then there’s the halfwit. He works about 18 hours a day, seven days a week and he does about 90 percent of the work. He gets around $10 per week, pays for his own meals and board, and if he’s lucky, gets a bottle of whisky on Saturday.” “That’s the guy I want to talk to, the halfwit”, says the agent. “That, replies the farmer, would be me!”
