NEW partner:

LuxaBond!

LuxaCore | LuxaPost | LuxaBond | SilaneA reliable system for post-endodontic restorations.

For years LuxaCore has been the dentists’ material of choice for core

build-up and post cementations worldwide. With LuxaPost DMG

now offers a post specifically tailored to the successful composite.

And to complete its product range DMG now offers the adhesive

system LuxaBond-Total Etch and the DMG Silane. In combination

these four specialty products make up a carefully coordinated system

for professional post-endodontic restorations thus creating the

prerequisites for reliable success.

The Partnership Principle.

Advantages

• Homogeneous monoblock

• Reliable bond

• Safe working

• Perfectly coordinated system

LuxaCoreCore build-up and post cementation with 5 Stars.

LuxaCore is a worldwide successful composite specially developed for core build-up

and post cementation. No other material comes closer to matching the properties

of the natural tooth. Therefore LuxaCore behaves like dentine thus facilitating an ef-

fortless and smooth core preparation. Other vital advantages are the material’s ex-

cellent flow properties and outstanding compressive strength. The independent

test institute REALITY honored these superior qualities with the highest rating, the

»Five Star Award«.

LuxaPostThe DMG quality post.

LuxaPost is a glass fiber reinforced composite post which can be optimally cemen-

ted with the adhesive composite LuxaCore. Its flexural modulus is very similar to

that of LuxaCore as well as the natural dentine. Thus LuxaPost and LuxaCore form a

homogeneous unit in the sensitive system consisting of root, post, cement and core

build-up material. And, due to LuxaPost’s tapered form, the treatment is particularly

gentle on the tooth substance.

LuxaBond-Total EtchThis dual-curing adhesive system is particularly suited for indirect techniques.

LuxaBond-Total Etch is perfectly compatible with all commercially available self-curing

and dual-curing materials such as LuxaCore, Vitique und PermaCem. Since it cures

without light it is especially well-suited for challenging adhesive cementations of

posts, core build-ups, inlays, onlays, crowns, and bridges. The specially shaped Endo-

brushes ensure a reliable application in the root canal.

SilaneAs a perfect complement to LuxaPost DMG now offers its own silane. The new Si-

lane establishes a reliable bond between the post and the luting composite. The

system consists of an adhesive silane and an activator. The components are mixed

in a 1:1 ratio before the application. Advantage compared to pre-hydrolized 1-bott-

le systems: a »fresh mix« for each application provides a better bond.

On the following pages we will introduce the four components for perfect post-en-

dodontic restorations in detail.

LuxaPost

Glass fiber reinforced composite post with dentine-like flexural modulus

A perfect systemLuxaCore is the ideal partner for the cementation of LuxaPost. Additionally,

LuxaCore is perfectly suited for the subsequent core build-up. This material

combination provides a monoblock.

The property portfolio of the materials in the system guarantees utmost reliability.

Nature-like material propertiesAs with LuxaCore, LuxaPost’s material properties also follow the model of the na-

tural tooth. LuxaPost’s low flexural modulus, i. e. its degree of elasticity and rigidi-

ty, is almost equal to that of natural dentine thus minimizing tension peaks in the

system (post – cement – root) and the risk of root fractures.

The post’s high transparency prevents it from shining through, thus ensuring a

smooth integration and esthetic appearance.

Intelligent formLuxaPost’s tapered form corresponds to that of the root thus

facilitating a preparation gentle on the tooth substance. Mat-

ching this form are the drills contained in the Intro Kit whose

profile and dimensions are precisely tailored to the post dia-

meters.

By offering three post sizes LuxaPost covers all possible clini-

cal situations. LuxaPost also features small retention grooves

in the top section to facilitate added mechanical retention.

Bonding agent between post and luting compositeTo obtain the best possible retention between LuxaPost and

LuxaCore we recommend DMG Silane. The silane creates a

chemical bond of the post’s glass fibers with the resin matrix

of the composite.

DMG Silane is a two-bottle system consisting of an adhesive

silane and activator. The components are mixed in a 1:1 ratio

before each application. Thus a »fresh mix« is used for each

application providing a better bond compared to one-bottle

systems since pre-hydrolized silanes lose their effectiveness

over time.

Advantages:• Reliable bond

• 1:1 mixing ratio

• A fresh mix for each application due to

2 component system

Features Benefits

Dentine-like flexural modulus Reduced risk of root fracture

Unidirectional fibers High flexural strength

Tapered form Preparation gentle on the tooth substance

One efficient drill per post size

No pre-shaping drill necessary

Easy preparation

Three color-coded sizes User-friendly variety

Conditioning of cavity and canal (enamel: 20 - 60 s, dentine: max. 15 s).

Application of Pre-Bond with specially shaped Endo-brushes.

Mixing of Bond A and Bond B.

Bonding of the cavity with the Bond A and Bond B mixture.

LuxaBond-Total Etch

Dual-cure adhesive system

Flexible useAs the perfect partner for LuxaPost and LuxaCore, LuxaBond-Total Etch completes

the DMG product range for post-endodontic restorations. It is also well-suited for

inlay cementations. The material’s self-curing properties prevent premature poly-

merization of pools on the cavity bottom (»pooling effect«) and facilitate polyme-

rization in areas where light cannot penetrate. In addition, LuxaBond-Total Etch can

be combined with LuxaCore-Dual for core build-ups or adhesive cementations of

crowns and bridges with Vitique or PermaCem. For these applications optional

light-curing is possible as well.

Reliable bondIn order to provide a better adhesion the system includes a Pre-Bond which is ap-

plied following a prior etching step of the enamel and dentine. The Pre-Bond en-

sures that LuxaBond-Total Etch cures quickly in the tooth substance when the actu-

al Bond (a mixture of components A and B) is applied. The anchor layer that is

already cured before the application of the restorative material provides a better

retention than two-bottle systems which only cure in combination with the restor-

ative material. In addition, the accelerating function of the Pre-Bond enables a

longer working time for the Bond.

Features Benefits

Self-curing Cures even without light

No premature polymerization of bonding material »pools«

Compatible with self-curing and dual-curing materials

Suitable for all LuxaCore indications

Pre-Bond facilitates faster polymerization after the application

Longer working-time and superior adhesion

Specially shaped Endobrushes Easier application in the root canal

Cuts like dentineLuxaCore has excellent mechanical characteristics. One outstanding material fea-

ture: It cuts like natural dentine thus allowing for a very easy, precise and smooth

preparation. And its high compressive strength provides a solid base underneath

the crown. The material’s excellent flow properties guarantee optimal adhesion to

the cavity walls and to the post.

Dual-curing: Fast and flexibleThe dual-curing variant of LuxaCore offers even more flexibility and time savings.

The self-curing properties of LuxaCore allow for a one-step filling procedure. And

with additional light-curing the polymerization can be actively accelerated thus

avoiding unnecessary delays for both the patient and the dentist.

Automatic mixing and direct applicationWith the intelligent Automix and Smartmix application systems LuxaCore is auto-

matically dosed and mixed and can then be directly applied thus ensuring a consis-

tently excellent material quality. The Intraoral-Tips guarantee a precise direct appli-

cation even in difficult-to-access areas. No mixing by hand. No incorrect dosage.

No time-consuming transfer into application tips. Thus using LuxaCore saves time

and money.

Features Benefits

Cuts like dentine Smooth preparation

High compressive strength Solid base underneath the crown

Excellent flow properties Optimal adaptation

One-step application No layering necessary

»Cure-on-demand« Immediate final hardness

A smile ahead.
