Ronald John Marczewski was the eldest son of Frank and Marga-

ret (Dillon) Marczewski. Born in the City of Bayonne, he grew up in Roselle Park, N.J. He was educated at Sherman School in Roselle Park, N.J. and St. Peter’s Preparatory School, Jersey City, N.J. After graduat-ing high school, he entered Seton Hall Divinity School and then Immac-ulate Conception Seminary. He received a B.A. in Classical Languages from Seton Hall University and a Masters of Divinity from the seminary.

On May 25, 1974 he was ordained to the priesthood and assigned to St. Adalbert Par-ish, Elizabeth, N.J. During his five years there, he taught at St. Patrick High School, was active in CYO retreat programs, and coordinated the Archdiocesan Vocation programs for co-ed and boys’ high schools (1976-77). In 1980, Fr. Ron was assigned to Campus Ministry at Rutgers University, Newark campus and New Jersey Institute of Technology. From 1982 until 1990, he served as the Director for Campus Ministry for the Archdiocese of Newark and was the Northeast repre-sentative to the National Association of Diocesan Directors of Campus Ministry (1985-87). He was also a founding board member of, and Campus Ministry Advisor to, the National Catholic Student Coalition (1984-87). In 1987 he was awarded a Masters of Arts in Spiritu-ality from Fordham University. In 1990, Fr. Ron was granted a Sabbatical year in which he studied Theology in the Institute for Continuing Theological Education at the North American College in Rome, Spirituality at Hawkstone Hall in England, and Celtic Spirituality at All Hallows Seminary in Dublin, Ireland. In 1991, Fr. Ron was assigned as the Chaplain to Essex Catholic High School, East Orange. He served there from 1991 to 1995 during which time he helped design a retreat program on racial awareness for students from the Archdiocese of Newark and the Diocese of Trenton.

In 1995, he was asked to develop an Office for Young Adult Ministry in the archdio-cese. He was the Director of Young Adult Ministry from 1995 until 1997. In 1995, he was given the additional responsibility of being the Administrator for St. Adalbert parish in Eliza-beth. In February of 1996 he was appointed Pastor.

During his years as Pastor of St. Adalbert Church, the church and parish plant under-went an extensive restoration. In addition to being a Pastor, in January of 1997, Fr. Ron was named the Executive Director of CYO/ Youth and Young Adult Ministries. He continued in

both positions until June of 2000. It was at that time that he left C.Y.O. and was asked to take on the added responsibility of being the Administrator for St. Patrick Parish, Elizabeth, NJ.

In December 2000 he was named a “Prelate of Honor” by his Holiness, Pope, Saint John Paul II.

So Who is our Pastor? Just brief summary of his life.

Ron as Pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Msgr. Ron has been sought as a lecturer and retreat giver. Następne Świa-towe Dni

Młodzieży będą miały miejsce w Krakowie.

Papież Franciszek zbierze młodzież z całego swiata,

aby razem przeżywać swoją wiarę. Kraków jest centrum życia świętego Jana Pawła II. Nasza parafia ponownie rozpoczyna pracę z grupą

młodzieżową. Oprócz cotygodniowych spotkań, dzielenia się

wiarą, pomocy w dziełach charytatywnych oraz dobrej zabawy, grupa będzie poszukiwać sposobów

aby wesprzeć młodych ludzi z naszej parafii w sfinansowaniu kosztów uczestnictwa

w Światowych Dniach Młodzieży. Pierwsze spotkanie będzie miało miejsce w czwartek, 5 czerwca 2014r. o 6:30 PM

w centrum parafialnym, drugie piętro. Będzie to grupa angielskojęzyczna, której opiekun-

em będzie Matt Strzala. Grupa młodzieżowa zaprasza wszystkich

uczniów szkół średnich.

Ostatni tydzień maja w naszej diecezji jest

czasem święceń kapłańskich. 24 maja 2014

roku w katedrze w Newarku dziewięciu diakonów przyjmie święcenia

kapłańskie dla archidiecezji

Newark.

Polecajmy ich Bogu w naszych modlitwach.

Również kapłani z naszej parafii obchodzą jubileusze święceń w maju.
