So lets get started, the purpose of this news- letter is to connect and share information. This is your newsletter, so if you have any stories, jokes, announcements you want The hot sun, activities, Waiata, Mean feeds, whakapapa, rewana, beach trips, fines, sleeping on walls, the drifter, fireworks, snor- ing, teams, tent city, spotlight, Duncan’s freezer, Mau Rakau, the missing Hawaiians, Bobby Brown dance moves, prezzies and whanau was a long time ago but our reunion was off the hook!! A lot of fun was had trying to plan each day’s activities not too mention long nights but it really made me appreciate those who did this job in the past, too much aunties, and uncles. Gotta give a big ups to Becs, Ngaire Emma, Leonnie and Har- old for making sure our we all had things to do everyday there was never a dull moment. This has been awesome and a great way for all of us to keep in touch and let everyone know what is happening. If you are having a birthday, a Family BBQ or just want to spread some goss this is the place to share it. So spread the word whanau and become a member.

Fees for the next reunion were decided at the last hui. $300 per whanau. $150 per single adult 17 years and over.To help people get to the next reunion, there will be an option to do a payment plan. If you can pay between a $2 (minimum pay-ment) and $5 per week to help save up your

reunion fee. If you opt to pay more than the minimum payment, the extra money will be returned to you at the reunion.If you’re interested in this option email me in the first instance and we will set you up with an automatic payment form or bank account details.

We had an address book doing the rounds at the last reunion. But just in case that book went missing. I’ve stored everyones details on my hard drive. Their is alot of whanau missing from the list at the moment . So please, can you send me the following.Address, Email, Phone number.to [email protected] if you know the where abouts of an Uncle, Aunty, Cuzzy, Dad/Mum, Nanny/Koro or lovechild hook me up the details and I will add them to the database. Don’t worry I’m not going to spam you.

The members are:Tangiwai Matete , Glen Williams, Ngaire Emma Matete, Ngaire Myrtle Matete, Becks Waihape, Mauhoe Waihape, Phila Lagaluga. We will be having our first meeting soon. So I will update you with more details in the next newsletter.

I have set up a facebook group and we currently have 60 some-thing whanau signed up. I know there is a lot more of us hiding out there somewhere.

At the final meeting of our reunion 7 whanau were nominated, as members to the committee. The members will oversee the organisation of the next reunion in 2013.
