THE PACLINE ADVANTAGE

STANDARD DESIGN FEATURES

All PACLINE conveyors are available with:• a variety of incline angles ranging from 15° to 45°,depending on carrier and load.

• speeds of up to 60 feet per minute; we generallyrecommend 40 fpm or less.

• can operate as a stand alone system with its own e-stopsand control cabinet, or as a part of a large central conveyorcontrol system.

• chain pendants on 6 inch centers, the closest in the industryand do not require additional attachments when changingthe carrier hanging centers.

• a compact, round track design with a small slot in theunderside to minimize dirt from getting into and fallingout of the track. It is also safer.

SPECIAL DESIGN FEATURESSystems can be supported from:• the building's roof steel, using pipe or angle iron. • the pick modules floor support beams, using standardattachment hardware.

• the building's floor using standard PACLINE "L", "T" or "F"support legs.

Safety guarding is normally used wherever the carrier andload is over an operator's head. It is easily attached directly tothe conveyor using PACLINE guarding frames. Several guarding styles are available including: • light gage zinc plated welded wire mesh. • heavy duty wire mesh suitable for supporting people. • nylon fabric netting with aircraft cable and "S" hooks.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Lubrication can be accomplished in a number of ways: • grease lubrication, applied manually with a brush. • oil lubricant applied by a brush lubricator. • oil lubricant applied by a shot lubricator, with integralmicroprocessor controls for automatic cycling.

Where oil drips are not acceptable, use PACLINE dust / driptrays. They attach directly to the conveyor chain, just beneaththe slot of the track. You can place them just where you havecarriers, or around your entire system to ensure a cleanoperation. Carriers are attached directly to these trays.

Trash Carrier #1: These carriersare effective for removing trashcartons from picking areas. Asimple mechanical device thattips the carrier is used when thecarton reaches the trash bin ortrash compactor.

Trash Carrier #2: When you aregenerating a wide variety oftrash from cartons to dunnage, abin style carrier can be used. Asimple mechanical device tips thecarrier when it reaches the trasharea. These can be located every4th or 5th carrier to reduce costs.

Carton Handling

Split case or "less than carton" picking areas are the least efficientareas of the distribution center. The man-hours consumed per orderare the highest in the entire warehouse. Only a careful considerationof the methods employed will allow you to preserve your profits.PACLINE overhead conveyors can help in this regard.

A centralized carton building area combined with a PACLINE cartondelivery system will allow your order pickers to concentrate onpicking. The carton delivery system can be conveniently locateddirectly over your picking conveyors and can be routed through alllevels of your picking modules.

Trash Handling

PACLINE conveyors offer a cost effective means of getting vendorcartons, carton flaps or other trash out of the pick module. Theconveyor can easily transport the trash to a disposal area locatedelsewhere in the facility.

Better yet, combine functions of delivering empty cartons or totes tothe pickers and removing trash on a single conveyor system, and youwill easily justify the purchase of your PACLINE system. The conversionis easy. Simply mix empty carton or tote carriers with a dumpingcarrier and dumping device and increase your payback potential.

APPLICATIONS

Tote Carrier #1: Plastic toteboxes require different solutionsdue to their heavier weight. Atray carrier is often the bestsolution to carry one or moretote boxes, allowing easyloading and unloading. Alsoavailable with integral drip trays.

Tote Carrier #2: If you don't likethe occasional cleaning requiredwhen using a tray style carrier,PACLINE offers an alternativecarrier that is lighter and morecost effective. These are usuallysufficient when tote boxes arerelatively light.

Carton Carrier #1: Choose froma wide selection of single cartoncarriers that we have designedover the years, or design yourown to suit your application.Available in zinc-plated orpowder coated finishes.

Carton Carrier #2: Increase thecarrying capacity of your systemwith multiple carton carriers.Carry two, three or four cartonson each carrier. Tray style carriersare available when it’s necessaryto have a selection of cartonsizes on each carrier.

Tote Handling

In many retail store distribution systems, reusable plastic tote boxesare the norm. These plastic boxes are bulkier and heavier thancardboard cartons and as such require special handling. Thoughthese containers are normally stackable, they need to be located allalong the picking conveyors, thereby consuming extremelyexpensive pick module space.

A well-designed PACLINE conveyor system can transport the totesdirectly from the receiving doors and deliver them directly to yourorder pickers wherever they may be working.
