THE ORIGINS OF RAPRap was born as part of a bigger cultural movement called "hip hop“. It was born in the United States of America in the late sixties. Rap mainly consists in talking according to a certain rhythm. This vocal technique is performed by an MC (freestyler), while the DJ supports the freestylers.The four elements of hip hop culture are writing (graffiti), breakdancing, rapping or MCing and DJing. This culture was born in the Afro-American community and Latin Americans in New York in the early seventies, as an adaptation of the American DJ style, a style of Jamaican reggae considered the main precursor of this kind.
