Preferred Charities
The Children’s Miracle Network helps raise funds for children’s hospitals. They raise funds for children's hospitals, medical
research and community awareness of children's health issues. Donations will help hospitals like Doernbechers to help improve the lives of children, with paying for medical training and equipment.
The March of Dimes foundation helps mothers with have full-term pregnancies and research problems babies are threatened with. They’re a global and local organization that always does its best to improve the lives of mothers and their babies.

This is UNICEF, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.
UNICEF is one of Key Club’s preferred charities. They are mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs, and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
UNICEF is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and strives to establish
children's rights as enduring ethical principles and international standards of behaviour towards children. With the K-
Family involved, we have the project called The Eliminate Project! (See next page)
This is the Eliminate Project, the district project made from the PNW district of Key Club
International. The project aims to eliminate Maternal Neonatal Tetanus, a deadly disease
that affects newborn babies and their mothers. It’s an extremely painful and fatal disease,
sometimes leading to the demise of a mother and her baby’s death. A baby dies every 11
minutes from MNT, and 134 babies die everyday from this deadly disease. However, $1.80 can save a mother and her children as it’s able to
give 3 vaccines to her. Only 23 countries remain with this disease, and we’re still holding our
heads high. The district’s goal is to raise $75,000, so let’s give it our all!
9
The Eliminate ProjectUpdate!
Because of our valiant efforts from fundraising and spreading awareness, we have now eliminated MNT from yet another
country, India. We have not reached our goal, but we are getting much closer to it the more we step it up. So let’s keep the fight
against MNT going and exceed our goal!

Hello, hello, and hello to everyone! My name is Ryan Neal Bataller Laforteza, and I'm the recently appointed lieutenant governor for Division 42 Coastal of the Pacific Northwest Key Club! I'm super excited to start off this term really well, and I hope that you're all having a wonderful time in Key Club as much as I am. Even with the news of our old lieutenant governor, Marshall Ferre, leaving his position, he looked at me with a proud face and knows that I'll make this term a good one. I'm hoping to make this division much more active and prosperous, and I won't be able to achieve it without the help of you fine Key Clubbers. So my first request to this division is that you spread this newsletter along your club, whether you're from Warrenton, Seaside, Wahkiakum, Astoria, Knappa, or Tillamook. I hope that we'll all get along and bond not as just a workforce, but as a family. My contact information is in the last page of the newsletter for any questions. Hope to see you all soon!
