Why Disclose Inventions ?
There are several reasons you should disclose your inventions:
- The Lab P&P requires it, regardless of how the invention was made or the source of funds for the invention
-The Lab’s Gov’t contracts require that inventions be disclosed to our Sponsors. Disclosure of inventions:
- complies with Lab’s contractual obligation – Sponsors like to see invention disclosures resulting from their funding;
- provides direct evidence of Lab innovation, and may encourage further Sponsor investment;
- validates our role as a Gov’t funded R&D center; and- maintains Lab’s reputation as an innovator in the minds of our
established Sponsors, and engenders this view in our new Sponsors
- Protects intellectual property developed at the Lab in collaboration with other entities, i.e., with collaborators, which protects the Lab and inventors.
