Career Fair Success Our career fair on February 22 was a huge success and we will be featured in an article from the Voice of San Diego next week. Boys soccer CIF Runner-Up The soccer team had an outstanding season this year making their first ever appearance in the CIF Championship Game. The team entered the playoffs as a 10 seed and upset the 7, 3, 2 seeds on their path to the championship game. The boys ended the season as the runner up for the San Diego Section in Division V. They will be back next year with a vengeance as the entire starting lineup will be eligible to return for the 2017-2018 season. Three students earned the honor of being named to the Union Tribune's All-Academic Team, while three other students were chosen for the All-League Team.

This year Head Coach, Cameron Hord, was joined by former O'Farrell soccer player and 2016 graduate, Oscar Pantoja as assistant coach.

Spring sports The O'Farrell boys' volleyball team has a big season ahead of them. The team has participated in multiple preseason games and tournaments, including a multi-division tournament in which the Falcons made it to the Silver Brackets. The boys volleyball team hosted their first home game against Bayfront on Tuesday, March 7th, winning in three straight sets. We look forward to a great season. O'Farrell's track and field team has grown this year to over 50 athletes. We have 18 returners and 33 new athletes who are very excited to try out different events. Last year our boys team set 9 school records and our girls team set 5. This year we hope to raise the bar even higher!

There have been many field trips through the DIVE over the past few months. Ms. Kridner took 7 students to San Diego LEADS Conference at UCSD where they were inspired to be leaders in the community. They participated in wonderful workshops and received a free dinner. Mrs. Kang took students indoor rock climbing at Mesa Rim Gym. Our students learned rock climbing safety and technique and practiced their skills on the wall.

The DIVEUpcoming trips offered through the DIVE for the month of March are outdoor rock climbing and kayaking.

Talent show The 2017 Talent Show was a huge success. The show was headlined by Mr. Morgan and The Philosophs and introduced new voices to the O'Farrell student body. In addition to musical performances, there was a special Flamenco performance, a Hip Hop performance and a comedy routine. There was even a special performance by Mr. Astudillo and a guest appearance by Principal Rainey.
