John Steinbeck was born in 1902 in California. He

came form a pretty modern family

He went to Stanford university but never graduated in 1925 he went to new York were he trained himself to become a freelance writer but failed and retuned to California.

expensive. By 1932, unemployment had reached 23.6%,

and more then 5,000 banks failed.
