"The Nezinscot Farm Weaving Retreat... taught by Dana Fadel and hosted by the Varney family at their very special farm in Turner, Maine. The farm is a truly wonderful place; well worth a visit any weekend! The farm store is filled with delicious, homemade things, the meals were fabulous, and the Nezinscot Farm vision is inspiring. Hopefully the pictures in this album convey this. Dana is a wonderful, patient teacher. The pace was relaxing, the accommodations were comfortable, and sleeping in the loft over a fully-stocked wool and fiber store was exciting. Not to mention the opportunity to dye yarn, snack on fresh items from the fromagerie, chaucuterie and bakery, commune with the goats, sheep, pigs, etc. and roam the farm fields between weaving sessions. This is a must do retreat!!" -Linda, 2013 participant "I'd never touched a loom, never picked up knitting needles, I once crocheted when I was a little girl. Pretty much zero experience with fiber. But being able to spend time on a working dairy farm in beautiful Maine couldn't be passed up. The retreat was held at Nezinscot Farm, in Turner Maine. An amazing place, run by an equally amazing family. In addition to providing organic dairy the farm produces cheese, vegetables, fiber from various animals, meat, herbal products.. and the best part: the Farm Store." -Julia, 2012 participant
