The Next Generationin IGU Evolution

The Next Generationin IGU Evolution

✹ Creates additional value by:

✶ eliminating maintenance costs typical for mechanical

blinds

✶ Dynamically balancing energy performance with light

transmission to meet and exceed energy codes and

comfort requirements

✶ Combines sales values of at least three premium

products in one multifunctional device

Advantages✹ Enables a highly dierentiated

product line that:

✶ Oers comfortable working

and living environment

without obstructing or

altering the views

✶ Eliminates installation, maintenance and replacement

costs associated with mechanical blinds

✹ Expands product value and profit margin potential

✹ Integrates with conventional IGU designs and does not

require an upfront investment in dedicated

manufacturing infrastructure

Key Features✹ Electronically modulates visible light transmission from

less than 3% to the high of 67%*

✹ Completely blocks all in-coming IR and UV light

components

✹ Delivers best in class sound performance of STC > 42

✹ Constructed as a self-contained unit with its own

primary and secondary seal for structural and

environmental durability

✹ Integrates in inboard or outboard position with all

standard double and triple pane IGU designs to meet

and exceed window energy code requirements

✹ When used in conjunction with high performance

Low-E glass can deliver SHGC < 0.1

✹ Maintains esthetically pleasing neutral gray appearance

across the entire dimming range

Benefits✹ Does not require any significant modifications to the

IGU production process or manufacturing equipment

✹ Transfers the value otherwise attributable to blinds to

the IGU

NanoEC™ SPU™ (Smart Pane Unit)

By replacing an outboard lite with Heliotrope’s NanoEC™ SPU™, IGUs will gain all the benefits of

electronic blinds, sound insulation, security, & UV protection without disturbing the perfect view.

* Exact dynamic range values depend on specific product configuration

NanoEC™ SPU™

• Security & natural

disaster protection

• Tempered glass for

impact protection

• Sound insulation

• Total UV Protection

• On-demand glare &

shade protection

Optimized PerformanceNanoEC™ SPU™ can be custom configured for multiple

IGU designs. All NanoEC™ SPU™ are produced cut size with

width, length and thickness optimized for integration with a

specific IGU configuration. Outboard position of NanoEC™

SPU™ is the most common configuration when integrating

in a double or tribble pane IGU. The outboard position

allows NanoEC™ SPU™ to deliver the lowest SHGC values

at the IGU level. At the same time, inboard NanoEC™ SPU™

position in a double or triple pane IGU is also possible.

All NanoEC™ SPU™ are produced as self-contained units

equipped with their own primary and secondary seals. This

unique design feature ensures continued performance of

the NanoEC™ SPU™ even in the unlikely event of IGU seal

being compromised.

NanoEC™ SPU™

Desired AestheticsNanoEC™ SPUs™ uniquely satisfy architects,

designers and homeowners by maintaining their

transmitted as well as reflected color with the

stringent requirements in both dark and bright states.

The exact color performance at the IGU level is a function of combined color

of NanoEC™ SPU™ and Low-E glass used as a part of the IGU design.

Sound InsulationThe unique, double-laminated construction of a

NanoEC™ SPU™ into an IGU allows for best-in-class

shielding from outside noise, resulting in enhanced

comfort, and increased real estate value.

A quieter home is a more valuable home. Studies show that a

10db reduction in noise level (such as what is gained through

NanoEC™ IGUs) can make over 6% dierence in the value of

the residence or oce.

UV ProtectionProvides complete protection (>99%)

from harmful UV-A and UV-B rays that

cause irreversible fading and sun damage

on everything from furniture, cabinets

and carpet to wood, paint and artwork.
