‘Haidiakhandi Ashram – a centre for peace and karma yoga’ Babaji told his devotees to establish ashrams in their home countries as a means of serving humanity. The first steps in

Australia began in the 1980s with the formation of an Australian Samaj or association to foster this aim. Most members

were in the Eastern states. Funds were slowly built up by donations and in 1992 some Melbourne- based people had the

Samaj incorporated in Victoria as the Shri Haidakhan Babaji Foundation Inc. The executive committee running this

association through the next almost 20 years was drawn mainly from people in various places, first Victoria then

northern NSW/Queensland, Bega and Sydney in NSW. By 2006 there were sufficient funds to purchase a rural block at

Brogo, towards the back of the Bega valley, NSW about an hour’s drive from the coast.

However by 2010 the Samaj had found that the rural block at Brogo was not really suitable for developing into an

ashram. Amongst the obstacles at that time was a lack of funds to begin much development. Also there were outgoings

such as rates, mowing and weeding costs. ‘Marking time’ would be a kind description of the situation.

Many millions of people have experienced healing benefits resulting from Babaji giving Leonard Orr the insight to

develop the breath technique now called breathwork. Surprising, few Australians who so benefited have made it into the

Australian Samaj over the years. In my case I remember in the 1980s driving my van to the coast from Canberra

listening to a tape of the aarti (having no idea what it was but simply being drawn to listen to it) and thinking why do I

have to go to India for an ashram experience, why doesn’t Babaji create one in Australia. Meanwhile I will just keep

breathing!

Parviti Win and Peter Bell brought Leonard Orr to Australia in late 2009 for a spiritual training workshop. Leonard’s life

and message embodies what he has learnt from Babaji. Breathwork had led me to Babaji’s message and then eventually

my time with Leonard led to a trip to Haidakhan in India and the havans of a Navaratri, which then led to nine months

with a shaved head, more breathwork and fire and so on. In India Shri Munirajji gave me the spiritual name of

Kameshvar. When I asked what it meant I was told ‘keeper of the treasury’ and a little lila was played out between the

speaker and l. Although I laughed somehow I knew that certain experiences I had received in the decades since my first

rebirth were towards something that was yet to happen back in Australia.

There are five people in the Bega area who spent time with Babaji before he left the body in 1984. They have stayed

with the Samaj process, maintained temples and held regular aartis and havans since then. True devotees. In 2010 my

wife Sujata and I found them and started going to havans on weekends and joined the Samaj. The energy of the Samaj

committee then was quite low. The vision to create an Australian ashram had not been achieved and there appeared to be

a long way to go before it could be. At best they had about $110,000 in assets with the land and about $10,000 to go

from there. To obtain power, water supplies and suitable buildings to accommodate and feed people would require up to

a further $300,000.

Dozens of people over the 20 or more years had been able to raise $120,000. Where would another $300,000 come

from? Babaji of course. I was asked to take on the role of Samaj treasurer (as Babaji determined through Shri Munirajji

Chris performing Aarti at the Babaji Ashram in Bega, NSW

in Haidakhan the year before ?). The Samaj decided to try and find a more suitable site for an ashram, an

action that was not accepted by all members, but one which energized those who stayed with the idea. It

renewed the vision and I was able to initially find $230,000 in pledges if the Samaj went with the idea of

finding a property closer to the coast and already with power, buildings and an adequate water supply. Within

months we had sold the rural block and were actively searching for a property worth up to $340,000 within a

30km radius of Bega. A list of the criteria required with the property was developed. Most properties we

looked at failed to meet many of the criteria. Eventually we found a property that met almost all the criteria

but the owner wanted $430,000. The extra $50,000 needed was found and after much negotiation we settled

on $390,000. Thanks Babaji.

Eventually the Samaj would like to attract a live-in pujari at the property which would allow ‘Haidiakhandi-a

centre for peace and karma yoga’ to function as a full-time ashram. In the last two years we have managed to

hold a havan there each month, both 9 day Navaratri festivals each year and several shorter festivals. People

coming from outside the district have been able to stay there during these occasions. We can only

accommodate a few people at present, which has met the demand so far. Before then there is still considerable

building to be achieved in finishing the fit-out of the kirtan hall and building more accommodation. Slowly

slowly!! Plenty of opportunities for kama yoga.

Probably more important than the ashram property, what the members of the Australian Samaj who have been

able to participate (some live OS) have achieved is a harmonious group. Each lends their weight to the wheel

as best they can - be it physical work, donations, gifts of goods, pujari tasks, etc.

We may be a small group however with Babaji’s love and guidance the future of the Australian Samaj and

‘Haidiakhandi’ looks bright. Further information and lots of related photographs can be found on the Babaji

Samaj Australia facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Babaji.Neti.Neti

15th April 1972

As soon as I entered the exceedingly crowded room I immediately noticed Him, seated on a raised dais, dress in white, immobile like a statue. I was enchanted as I watched him. He is extremely beautiful, radiant like and ancient Christ-like figure, very serious, severe, with sharp, dark, powerful, penetrating eyes. I started to look into His eyes and felt myself becoming hypnotized to such an extent that I began to be afraid of his power. Then suddenly I observed Him lowering his eyes, with such humility and an incredible tenderness. For two maybe three hours I looked at him continually, as if magnetized, just like the rest of the people in the room.

From Fire of Transformation, my Life with Babaji, Gaura Devi

Profile – Chitra Kaul 1. Where do you live and who do you live with? I live in India, with my mother and sister. 2. Who or what inspired you to become a Rebirther/Breathworker? Usually one hears about other people’s experiences or sees a change in someone’s life and wonders how the person has brought about this miracle. This often inspires you to say `I want to make a change in my life too’. Most people get to know about Rebirthing through others experiences or may read about it somewhere. For me it God was my source as I got to know about Rebirthing in a dream when I was quite unwell and I was asked to breathe to heal myself! I kept telling the man I am breathing and he kept telling me “No, you are not” and then asked me to `walk on hands and knees’. 3. Who have you done Rebirther/Breathwork training with? Kim, Roy, Sheelagh Bissett, Alfredo 4. What benefits have you and your family received from Rebirthing/Breathwork? Through Rebirthing we became aware of the Death Urge and the benefits of Spiritual Purification practices. 5. Does Rebirthing/Breathwork present any challenges for you and/or your family in daily life? Challenges for me and my family no but, few friends and relatives are unable to understand why every day I have to spend time rebirthing myself when I am teaching Rebirthing. They get upset and offended when I do not spend time with them the way they want me to! 6. How do you use Rebirthing/Breathwork to add value to your life and the lives of your clients? Through Rebirthing one can see the Divinity in oneself and be in flow with the Life Force Energy. It has helped my clients see certain patterns in their lives which were blocking their growth and it also allowed them to reach their true potential in life and some have even found their life purpose. 7. Your 60 second plug for Rebirthing/Breathwork is …

A very simple and effective way to clear blocks (without getting into the drama) in any area of one’s life. 8.Your dreams and vision for your future and the future of Rebirthing/ Breathwork are… My dream and vision for future is to see Rebirthing grow tremendously all over the world and especially in India as I feel through Breath we can easily go straight to the root of the issue without creating a drama. 9.What is the element you are most comfortable with and how does this manifest in your life? Two elements that I love to be with – Water and Fire. As a child I used to take so much of time bathing that everyone used to say “You were bathing or sleeping?” and I love hawan (fire ceremony). Usually everyone in my family complains of too much heat from the flame but I Love and enjoy the heat coming out of the flame touching my body!

we have to talk with each other until we

10.What is your understanding & opinion of Leonard’s hypothesis of Physical Immortality and its antithesis - the death urge and EEP? It is quite an interesting question for me. As an Indian, since childhood I have listened to stories about Immortals. Many times in Indian houses, Maha Mrityunjay mantra is chanted for `victory over death’ but at the same time one does not give much importance to it. Before I heard the term `Physical Immortality’ from Leonard, I used to think it is possible for the saints and yogis but not for mere mortals. Though through chanting Maha Mrityunjay mantra we can certainly increase our life span. My understanding of Physical Immortality is `victory over death’ which can be achieved through certain practices. I believe it is possible but one does not have to be in the body for that. When one achieves Physical Immortality then they can choose the form which I believe happens for the good of the humanity. Death is a family tradition that we have been following through ages. Many times I have experienced Emotional Energy Pollution. Over the period of time I have started asking a lot of questions about EEP and how not to get affected by it. I think that if I release the resentment, fear, be non-judgemental, forgiving and especially have unconditional love towards people then I would not get affected by EEP. Right now, I am at a stage where I have to consciously follow some of it but the day all of this becomes my nature I would achieve `victory over EEP’. 11. What is your favourite quote from a book/person/poem/etc you admire? Truth, Simplicity and Love by Babaji. 12. One paragraph testimonial from a client about your work with them I highly recommend Chitra Kaul as a breath worker and healer. She is a wise and compassionate soul and is very knowledgeable in her area of expertise. She has

been a guiding light and her proficiency and expertise has gently been able to help me work through my deepest fears and anxieties. I have seen great changes in my

life path with enhanced confidence, prosperity and spirituality being the generous gifts that have been bestowed upon me. Thank you, Ms Kaul for being the gentle,

caring soul you are. - Shalini

ENERGY MATTERS For a long time I resided at the heart of a massive metropolis that hummed with the vibrations of millions of busy lives. Things now couldn’t be more different. My home is

a simple dwelling tucked away in a beautiful forest. Daily, with much gratitude, and surrounded by bird song I fetch water, chop wood. I write ‘much gratitude’ because it takes a lot of physical effort, this way of life, and I am deeply grateful for the embodied energy in the wood and water that is nearby to keep me warm, watered and washed.

At my previous abode I took much of this energy for granted. ‘Took’ being the operative word; for energy simply existed behind a switch or tap just waiting to serve me at any time of the day or night that I cared to call upon it.

I worked that energy hard, very often frivolously, while spending substantial time and money zipping about the place to attend workshops and discourses to deepen my spiritual path.

The goal, as it seemed for the many that travelled with me, was to tap into the infinite flow of universal energy. From there one could manifest their full potential and

realise any imaginings they cared for, materialistic or otherwise. Want a car parking space on the ground floor near to the ticket machine? If you know how to unlock the secret powers of the universe it’s more than possible to create this condition. And why not? After all, are we not fortunate enough to be the ones born at just the right time to be riding

the crest of an evolutionary and spiritual wave? The Age of Aquarius will soon be upon us, heralding a new and enlightened epoch for all of humankind. At first glance, with so much coming into alignment everything seems so right and full of promise.

What if, however, the evolutionary forces that have so generously propelled us from being an also-ran to becoming the dominant species on Earth are less to do with any

collective spiritual advancement and more to do with harnessing that which has simply gone before us? What if we are actually squandering an extremely rare once-in-a-species-lifetime opportunity by focusing too much on acquiring the powers of subtle, ethereal energy while ignoring the grosser energy elements that grant us the inordinate freedoms to

seek enlightenment on a workshop in Bali or catch up with our guru in Florida? For all of my spiritual endeavours, if I have had any meaningful epiphany, it is this. We may be light beings experiencing ourselves in a physical form, a manifestation of

consciousness that enables consciousness to experience itself, a star traveller’s dream while journeying across deep space and time, a simple ape that has been interfered with for millennia by aliens, mere mortals born unto the image of our maker or a combination of all of these things or none of them at all. Whatever our prior incarnation and future

destination, both of which continue to remain exquisitely hidden from view, we are for now having to cope with our lot living on earth in a very carbon-based realm.

We find ourselves inhabiting a planet that rotates daily upon its axis every 23 hours, 56 minutes, 4.09053

seconds and each second travels 30 kilometres through space as it orbits around a hydrogen-fuelled nuclear reactor affectionately known in our tongue as the Sun. At the same time, that sun and its family of planets

which includes us are moving around the centre of our galaxy at some 220 kilometres every second. All of this extraordinary motion is taking place on the outer arm of a spiral galaxy called the Milky Way that is

home to some two to four hundred billion stars where there is the possibility of there being some 10 trillion

planets. And the Milky Way is but one galaxy amongst around 200 billion galaxies in the known universe. Energy, immense in scale, unfathomable in magnitude both large and small, swirls invisibly and often silently

around and through us. Tethered here, on our little earthen rock, consumed by the daily ministrations of our busy minds,

most of us barely pause to give a moment’s thought to the role that energy plays within our lives. Except

perhaps that we may think we are special and can control it. As carbon-based life forms inhabiting a carbon-based world, we use carbon-based materials to move

us from one generation to the next. Indeed, we appear to have become super clever at this game. The extraordinary waste we create aside, our ancestors may even think we have become god-like in some ways.

We jet about the planet, propel ourselves along lines of bituminous tar at 100 kilometres or more an hour, smash atoms together in super colliders and create our own version of the sun inside nuclear reactors.

It’s all truly incredible but, in the same breath, after hundreds of thousands of years we are still only

playing with fire, albeit in more sophisticated kinds of ways. All of those millions of tiny explosions taking place in your car’s engine is little more than carbon-based fuel being combusted under extreme pressure. It’s

a flame’s lick of fire. It is energy that exists in one form (fuel) being harnessed for our use (power) before it morphs to a less excited state in the form of waste heat (exhaust gases). Our long-forgotten ancestors

keeping warm around a campfire with the stars above, burning wood in exchange for heat, would likely

understand the principle of the combustion-engine if it were explained to them. Every single day, to propel our modern world, we burn through roughly 89 million barrels of oil and

liquid fuels (one barrel is equivalent to 42 US gallons which equates to 159 litres). Over the course of a year we consume some 32 billion barrels of this precious endowment. Based on 2005's consumption figures, it is

the equivalent of a cubic mile of oil (i.e. one mile wide by one mile long by one mile high). Of course, each year we also demand economic growth so we have to add that growth percentage to the cubic mile, too!

We heavily rely on oil (and coal and other fossil fuel resources). But oil is the most pervasive

because it powers 98% of the planet’s transport (delivering your next Amazon order, rushing someone to hospital, flying you away for a vacation, or re-stocking overnight your supermarket’s shelves). The amazing

concentrated energy that exists within oil is also heavily rely upon to create fertilisers and pharmaceuticals, clothing, plastics, paints, and tyres et cetera. Oil shapes our farming by allowing vast-scale monoculture

practices to take place. Oil defines our political doctrines by focusing government policy on achieving short-

term results while perpetuating the mantra of endless growth. In essence, pretty much everything we create in our ‘modern’ industrialised world has either a direct

or indirect connection to oil. So much so that nowadays we even ‘eat oil’. Every calorie of food we consume requires 10 calories of oil energy to produce it.

Oil is an extraordinary gift handed down to us from sea creatures that lived and died millions of

years ago. It is an energy source that is finite in amount and we are using it to make plastic spoons and quick trips to the store to buy a paper and milk.

The sobering point is this. Despite all of the heavyweight clout possessed by oil companies to explore for reserves wherever they choose; despite all of the rigs, manpower, technical know-how, government

subsidies, and satellite imaging at the disposal of these giant corporations, the world’s production of oil has not exceeded the levels that were achieved in the mid-naughties and new discoveries have not matched consumption since 1986. Like quick fix addicts we are relentlessly drawing down on our endowment with

little regard for future generations. We have used up the easy to process reserves and now rates are

declining year on year and the oil business is becoming more of a mining operation than a drilling one as it turns to lower energy yield shale oils and tar sands to maintain supply (despite the massive costs imposed

on the environment and atmosphere to do so). While it is vital that we regularly meditate to connect with ourselves and search for ways to tap into

the subtler aspects of universal energy, it is equally important to bring awareness to the grosser energies

that underpin the trappings of the royal lives we enjoy (and often take for granted). By protecting and preserving the resource that remains it may be possible to transition into a paradigm that is gentler for

humankind, all sentient beings, and the planet itself; thereby giving rise to a truly golden Age of Aquarius that is so fervently hoped for by so many. To get there, however, we must awaken now to the reality that

there are carbon-based obstacles before us. The creation of alternate technologies such as solar panels and

electric vehicles, for example, are not conjured out of thin air or simply wished into existence. They require significant inputs of oil as part of their production process, including the mining of rare earth minerals. And

oil, very quickly, is becoming harder and more expensive, not easier and cheaper, to bring on line. There is a poignant Arabic saying: 'trust in Allah, but tie your camel'. From an energy perspective, it

would be unwise for us to do otherwise. February 2014

Finding Our Song When a woman in a certain African tribe knows she is pregnant, she goes out into the wilderness with a few friends and together they meditate until they hear the song of the child. They recognize that every soul has its own vibration that expresses its unique flavour and purpose. When the women attune to the song, they sing it out loud. Then they return to the tribe and teach it to everyone else. When the child is born, the community gathers and sings the child's song to him or her. Later, when the child enters education, the village gathers and chants the child's song. When the child passes through the initiation to adulthood, the people again come together and sing. At the time of marriage, the person hears his or her song. Finally, when the soul is about to pass from this world, the family and friends gather at the person's bed, just as they did at their birth, and they sing the person to the next life. To the African tribe there is one other occasion upon which the villagers sing to the child. If at any time during his or her life, the person commits an aberrant social act, the individual is called to the centre of the village and the people in the community form a circle around them. Then they sing their song to them. The tribe recognizes that the correction for antisocial behaviour is not punishment; it is love and the remembrance of identity. When you recognize your own song, you have no desire or need to do anything that would hurt another.

Are your thoughts melting the Polar Ice Caps? In 1975 at a seminar from a guy who had come from a well-known USA organisation, I heard that my thoughts created my reality. He then spent the next hour detailing how my thoughts created my reality – he was very convincing – so much so I attended the weekend seminar and I went away very confused. He never answered the one question that troubled me: Q If my thoughts create my reality, then my thoughts must create my death? I had been brought up a Christian (High Anglican) and God created both life and death – didn’t He? But if my thoughts create my reality entirely as he claimed, then my thoughts must create my death!!! Or did they suddenly STOP creating my reality when I hit 70 – 80 years so I could die? Traditional Christian funerals contain the words at the graveside “The Lord giveth and The Lord taketh away” and then one by one, all attendees symbolically offer a handful of earth onto the already lowered coffin. Actually, one can really feel the separation when that is going on. The question of who creates death was not yet resolved. In 1976 I went to my first 9 day Rebirthing Training. It was a hoot. I learnt the breathing and some psychology, but nothing about the death urge. Physical Immortality was not included in the seminars. In fact there were no seminars, but lots of action and bless them for having the courage for bringing it on so early in the piece. And congrats to me and my three friends who did Rebirthing 38 years ago. The four of us kept meeting and Rebirthing each other for ages afterwards without guidance from a trainer. Eventually, because there were no trainers in New Zealand, I went to Australia and that was when my question was finally answered. I received a ten session series in the Leonard Orr style and went on to a full Practitioner Training with Sherrill Sellman who had been trained by Leonard Orr. So, of course, the first session was all about Physical Immortality, death urge and the Rebirther also talked about my thoughts. However, it wasn’t until I went to Leonard Orr trainings in the USA and he talked about Spiritual Psychology that I really understood why and how we created our own life and death. Spiritual Psychology The thinker is creative with his/her thoughts and the Thinker is The space between our thoughts. In this space lies the unlimited potential to create whatever we want out of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire using our mind. I like to think about it as a clear night sky. Our thoughts are the stars and the dark space around the stars is the Unlimited Potential of the Creative Source. We have 50,000 thoughts a day and we do actually choose those thoughts although some thoughts are, or seem to be, choiceless choices. Affirmations, mantra yoga and knowledge is powerful. However, the mind and the breath alone is not enough to deal with the death urge and emotional energy pollution. If we clean and balance the Energy Body (where our thoughts reside – the brain being just a receiver – like a radio) with earth, air, water and fire as our thoughts flow through the clean Energy Body we eventually logically must become like Buddha who have no negative thoughts. This might take a few years. Buddha sat for 30 years!!! Thank God bathing, fire, eating good food and breathing is pleasurable and fun. It is fun in Aussie to go camping and we have so much wood. We are very blessed here that Elemental Healing is so available. Knowledge is power and the practicing or putting into action that knowledge is the emotional “charge” that creates a result. In today’s world we have lost the knowledge of how to use the elements to bring about a relaxed, recharged state of being and anyway, we are far “too busy.” Another way of looking at this theory The space between our thoughts is our connection to the source. Without that connection, our thoughts would just be, in general, a rambling bunch of white noise that went nowhere. There would be no energy to propel creation. Our thoughts, over time, utilize that space/ energy to manifest material things. Enlightened Masters, for example, Sai Baba, do exactly the same as us, but they do it in seconds. Sai Baba once manifested for an Aussie devotee, a psychiatrist who wrote “Sai Baba & The Psychiatrist” a piece of wood from the actual cross of Jesus with a tiny Jesus as He looked at the time of His crucifixion. He, Sai Baba, did this in moments. We do exactly the same thing. We manifest cars, houses, roads, etc., and our daily lives, in fact everything that happens to us and around us. What’s the difference between us and the enlightened Masters from the books of the” Life and Teaching of Far East” who could manifest anything? They live in the space Between Their Thoughts and they have no “white noise.” White noise is our endless babbling thought system that creates “stuff” we” think” we do not want so called negative stuff. You will notice I did not say they had control over their thoughts. The point is they don’t have to “think” positively or control their thoughts. That does not work in the long or even the short term anyway. They live in That Space

between Their Thoughts where Infinite Energy/God/ The Source is waiting for us. The Course in Miracles says that no one can fill your place in the Universe and that your place waits for you and that God Himself is lonely without you. It doesn’t mean to die and go to Heaven, it means to live and think in That Infinite Space Between our thoughts. Spiritual Psychology states that The Mind and The Breath are the King and Queen of human consciousness. The merged breathing rhythm of Rebirthing is very powerful because it draws in a tremendous amount of Prana/Spirit/Essence. So whatever thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, we have are empowered by this merged breathing. It is common sense that if we are going to “up the anti” of creations/mind that we want to have high quality thoughts all the time because the Rebirthing session has a continuum all through our lives – not just while we are laying down. I always introduce the theories of the philosophy of the death urge, religious trauma, and physical immortality to my clients as a working hypothesis so their minds can start churning and eliminating their deep subconscious about death and life in general. Because it is a working hypothesis and not a belief system or religion, people respond to it in a positive manner. I have adopted the policy of not talking about this outside of clients who are exchanging energy (paying or similar) in order to be rebirthed. That way, I do not waste my energy on people whose minds are closed on new ideas. So in synopsis, our energy and mind does create our universe (world) and our thoughts are creative utilizing Earth, Air, Water and Fire, the same way God created the whole Universe out of thought. BUT – all of this is just fancy theory and philosophy and has no practical value, if it, the knowledge, does not enhance my client’s lives and give them better health. What I have noticed over 35 years of practicing rebirthing is that:

When people have info on the working hypothesis of the death urge and its antithesis – the theories of physical

immortality and are given a good understanding of religious trauma which states that Death is inevitable – and since God

is in control of everything (even atheists know that) He must be in control of my death. The resolution of this energy-

sucking conundrum releases a tremendous force and recharges the Rebirthee in ways that amaze me. You would think I

was trying to sell “snake oil” If I told you some of my client’s stories.

If you would like to read University blind studies and other research into how powerful the death urge is in the human mind

– Google The Terror Management Theory. I wrote a short chapter of this research in my book. It validates the hypothesis

that people “manage” their inevitable demise by anti social, ingratiating, religious and sometimes vicious behaviour but

most of us “manage” it by behaving to the norms of society and what is socially acceptable. We’re just nice.

Their life improves expedientially as they learn more and more.

Their breathing improves drastically when they grasp the fact that God is not out to kill them at 70/80 years or earlier.

They feel far more in control of their life and their long term future.

Their happiness levels go up in leaps and bounds due to serotonin, etc. from the breathing and info which alleviates deep

seated unconscious depression/hopelessness about their inevitable demise. Rebirthing in this format takes away a

tremendous amount of the typical human condition – which states – “It doesn’t matter what I do, I am going to die

anyway.”

If they have long term health problems, the problems will disappear or they will find an answer to it. For example – if they

are deaf – they will “suddenly discover” a procedure which will restore their hearing!!!

They stand up straighter, their body is more supple.

They are more creative and business style people particularly have more money making ideas occurring to them.

They look more youthful.

Their relationships improve – if they are in an abusive relationship that they couldn’t leave due to low self esteem, they will

get out.

Drug (street) addicts sometimes have almost a re-enactment of their favourite street drug during the breathing session as

the breathing is detoxing their bodies.

• Rebirthing can be used to get off prescription drugs. • Smokers are very good breathers (unless they have created emphysema). • They can have their highest highs and lowest lows during the 10 session series. • The main purpose of the first 10 sessions is to learn to breathe Energy as well as Air - it’s not about remembering your birth, or early childhood memories it’s about opening up the breathing system to receive The Holy Spirit in pranic form. Anything else is either a bonus or can be a distraction. • That if they do not maintain the practices of breathing on a regular basis by themselves and for themselves and practice fire purification then emotional energy pollution from everyday contact with people who breathe incorrectly and haven’t resolved their death urge eventually overcome the benefits they gained. This happens very slowly (because God is kind) but it happens none the less. That is just one of the reasons Pete and I now live in the outback. We have created a major experiment in the “University of Life” to test these theories to the max. and back. We can go for weeks, perhaps months, without seeing another person. When I return from Tibet in July, I will be experimenting with Kaya Kalpa and Shivumbu Kalpa (Urine Therapy). No food – drinking my own urine – in a darkened room with open fire, baths and other good stuff for 21 days. I am doing 21 days and later I’ll do 45 days. We will keep you posted as we are going to video it as a record of whether it youths the human body or not. I have practiced Shivumba Kalpa since I was 26 years old. My first Rebirther trainer had us drink a glass of our own urine However, I have not been as serious as I could have been with it. I am a life member of The Urine Therapy Association of India and joined a New Zealand group in the late 70’s that practiced healing others with this technique. I actually witnessed and participated in some major illnesses being healed. It’s rare to find someone who is willing to use t his technique to heal themselves but a few Aussies have “given it a go” and received major healing with me – they were also doing fire and breath. • Since a well-trained Rebirth practitioner provides a healthy balanced presence and high level of safety to the person who is learning the skill of Energy Breathing/Rebirthing it makes sense for people to really check out their Rebirther and if they are attending a training to check if they are going to receive high quality sessions from an actual practitioner. In other words, you cannot learn this skill from someone unless they have had at least 10 sessions - and best with the same person and preferably a professional. Recently I heard from someone who paid to go to a practitioner training where there were no Rebirthers, only the trainer. The new people rebirthed each other. That is very low quality. Any profession, and particularly Rebirthing, cannot sustain itself if this was to continue. It’s like “the blind leading the blind.” I was very disappointed for this person. It’s tragic because those first 10 sessions are so special. • The really really good bit . Since energy is like water and seeks its own level, and relationships energy seeks its own level, we generally get the long term friends we deserve if we breathe, bathe and practice fire purification. And finally, to answer the question in the title, are our thoughts melting the polar ice caps and causing global warming. Hypothetically, it’s true. If thoughts can kill our earth, air, water, fire, carbon based bodies – logically enough, death urge thoughts can affect the state of the earth, air, water, fire of the planet. The following is an excerpt from my book. Conservation and The Death Urge The whole of creation groans under the travail unto the redemption of man’s body. (back from death) From The Bible The bible’s writings imply that the whole world including flora and fauna is in subjugation to our minds. Hypothetically speaking then, the pollution of atmosphere and earth is the result of mass consciousness of polluted thoughts, especially deathist thoughts. If we all redeemed our bodies back from deathist mentality and thought, only Life Urge thoughts, all pollutions and results of pollution would disappear completely. The theory on “natural disasters” has always fascinated me. The theory states that when enough people are miserable and want to die yet cannot actively take their own lives due to religious beliefs or other reasons, this mass accumulation of death urge and misery is projected outward and a natural disaster occurs. Billions of people have marched across the face of the earth, and billions have died, yet the Planet is still here. Evidently She,(The Earth), is immortal and we are not. Yet Mother Earth is made up of the same materials as us. Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Her seemly solid matter body is surrounded by, and interconnected with, Her Energy Body (aura) and she is in direct connection to the Source. The places on the earth where there is gross pollution is where her obvious ability to heal herself has been overwhelmed by our deathist thoughts. Maybe She knows some things we have forgotten. The above theory, although outrageous, gives us something to think about. Could we prevent natural disasters by thinking Life Urge thoughts? Could we heal the Earth by changing our Mind’s about death? Imagine a world wide Conservation Movement based on the idea that our thoughts are Creative.

Breathe Australia Conference 2014- Jai Maha Maya Ki Jai!

The earth has so much to tell us, to teach us. If only we could hear, understand and communicate with her. The Breathe Australia Conference is an attempt to understand and to connect with it. We are very privileged that Leonard Orr will be opening the conference on the Thursday night. His energy can only open us to the idea of connecting with the land and using the elements for personal purification. (For those of you that haven’t met him, this is really an experience! The simplicity of his teaching makes it so powerful!) The aborigines have also always known that. Their relationship with the land is very unique. They have such respect for it, they would never go or settle anywhere they are not welcomed or invited. I remember going on a “women’s business” trip where we were meant to camp on sacred land with indigenous women in order to be initiated to the sacred dance ceremonies. They were a few of us coming from all over the world and to our dismay the land had said no, we couldn’t camp where it had been advertised we would! We camped next to it and it was amazing, but not once did the organisers tried to force the issue. The land had said no and it was respected. A very different way to think than what I had been used to and quite frankly I would love to hear the land and communicate with it as the indigenous people do. Frank Ansell is a traditional indigenous healer (nungkari) and lawman from the Eastern Arrernte desert country in Central Australia. He is coming to the conference with the intent to invite us to meet with the power of the land and connect to our own infinite potential. Now, more than ever, this is so important for our healing and integration with the evolution of consciousness and planet earth, to take responsibility for our own, our country's and the earth's healing. So between Leonard and Frank, I hope that we will be able to explore within our connection with the land. The earth is part of our healing. We stand on it and its energy feeds us. Talking about food, we will have also beautiful teachings from Leesa, www.foresthideaway.com.au, on food as medicine. How to really nourish ourselves with food from the Earth. During the conference, all seminars and talks will be followed by a breathe. It will be a time of education and a time of community building. Meeting each other, talking, being silent if necessary. I am hoping that the venue and its magnificent gardens will provide a sanctuary of peace from our busy lives. I so look forward to meeting you or seeing you there! The conference is being held from November 6-9, 2014 in Bowral NSW. Transport is being organized from the airport. Please contact Veronica ([email protected]) The theme Between Heaven and Earth will allow us to explore our connection from the land and to the heavens. We are standing between 2 poles, linking Earth to Heaven through our bodies, and it is from those 2 poles that we can get nourishment, guidance and reassurance. The Breathe Australia Conference is a great way to explore the role of the breath and how it is with the breath that we can connect ourselves. The full, conscious, connected breathing is the key to grounding and to accessing our higher self

The Inner Toddler (Approximate age 9 Months to 3 Years) by Fanny VanLaere Until approximately 18 months the world is a sensory abundance for the child. It is wonderful to touch, smell, taste and explore. When the child is prevented from doing this by adults (and because of our gender education, it is usually more common for girls) then they might develop autonomy and will power issues in the future and be afraid of the external world. From approximately 15 months to 3 years the child learns how to say no and is testing his parents boundaries in learning the way the world around him works. That way s/he learns to develop his own identity and sense of separation. Therefore it is very important to listen to and respect the child during this stage; but also set healthy, loving boundaries. It is a difficult period as the child has temper tantrums. They have strong emotions and do not know yet how to express them in a less dramatic way. The role of the parents then is to communicate with the child in a way that helps him process his emotions and learn to channel them. As in all the other stages the attitude of the child might trigger his parent's unresolved issues, which they will have to heal before they can act in a wiser way. When this stage is not successfully completed the future adult can develop different issues like: shame and doubt about what s/he is doing, repression of exploring abilities, saying or receiving a no, asking for what they want, putting up healthy boundaries, emotional dramas and dependency. Many people also develop complexes and even traumas due to the pressure they received with the toilet training, such as the disapproval or demand they felt from the parents or other people around them during the phase of learning to leave nappies or diapers behind or avoiding urinating in bed. Some people unconsciously suffer from this problem so much that they even develop pathologies of the bladder, the colon, the anus or the intestines. Other people find it difficult to go to the toilet in situations of change, or when they are away from home. In this case it is good to overcome the repressed feelings of guilt and shame, as well as those related with the natural excretion functions of our body.

Examples of affirmations for your inner toddler: "You, ---, can enjoy touching, smelling, tasting and exploring." "It is safe to explore the world. I will always protect you." "Little, ---, I love you the way you are." "It is ok to have strong emotions. You can learn to express yourself in a loving way." "I love you even when you have emotions explosions." "It is ok to say no." "You always deserve to be taken care of, little ---." "You don't have to worry for me; I can take care of you." "I am glad you want to do the things your own way." "You can be yourself; I will always be there for you."

THE ENERGETIC AWAKENING!! Bob Frissell

Once upon a time there was an entity named Vector Three. Vector Three is a composite entity of group souls on the eighth dimension. It is composed of three billion individual spirits who are actively participating in the awaking of planets in 383 different worlds in five local universes. Let’s consider the possibility that Earth is one of those 383 different planets, and that there are many millions of ETs here who are part of Vector Three. Since you are reading this, you just might be one of them. Your job has been to come to this planet, become just like the indigenous life forms – in this case human – and then to go to sleep to forget who you are and forget why you are here, so you could become ‘just folks’. Because you are part of a planetary transition team, you needed to come here and go to sleep and then wake up. That is your expertise. It is now time to remember that you are an inter-dimensional master, here to assist the planet in its’ awakening. The most important reminder as you awaken to your true self, is to follow your spirit without hesitation, that is a prime directive as a transition team member. Remember for a moment, that you came from a world where everything is light and everyone feels connected to all of life. Everyone follows their spirit without hesitation, there is only kindness, gentleness and love there. You came with many friends to help Mother Earth in her ascension into the higher worlds, and with it, the birth of a new humanity. If you are willing to consider the possibility that you are an ET master, and that you are here to bring your love, light and wisdom here, there are some useful elements to key into the universe to help that happen. The entire universe rearranges itself to accommodate your picture of reality. Whatever picture of reality you give, the universe must manifest it. No two people have the same picture of reality, and yet the universe rearranges itself to accommodate each and everyone of those realities. It is also very useful to burn in your heart with the fire of purpose. If you are, you will do whatever it takes to co-create heaven on Earth and to awaken to the master that you are. One of the major elements of your picture of reality is your identity. It takes an enormous amount of veiling to create the illusion that you are just an isolated person with no power. If you have been identifying yourself as a lowly human, you have been turning to outside authority for advice, and you have been living a massive lie. You are a Spiritual Being having a human experience! You have to start with no evidence that this is real, at some point you just have to declare that you are a master. The entire universe will then begin to rearrange itself to accommodate you. In addition to your identity, there are two other main elements to your picture of reality, one is the context in which you live your existence, and the other one is the way in which you measure reality. If you identify yourself as a master, then you will treat your experiences as a remembering, rather than a learning process. Masters know that they are all possibility, humans are here to see if they can learn enough to become enlightened. So begin to proclaim that you are a master, begin to shift your life context by shifting the questions that you ask of your experiences. Ask how does this contribute to the co-creation of heaven on Earth instead of what am I supposed to learn from this. Then shift the way in which you measure reality. From the third dimension the way of measuring reality is beliefs and experiences. As you progress you measure it from your feelings, your intuition, and your abilities to read subtle energies. From the higher overtones of the fourth dimension, which is where we are headed, things are real because you say so. Whatever you say is reality, the universe will instantly manifest.

What if you suddenly became totally fascinated with your picture of heaven on Earth. If you took a radical shift in your identity, in how you contextualize your reality, and in how you measure it, the universe would have no choice but to give you a radically different reality. After you have done all of that then all you have to do is follow your spirit without hesitation. Your life will then flow as you fiercely hold your vision. You will, as Gandhi said, be the change you want to see in the world.

Read the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus. It is the humble and the meek that enter the realm of immortality. Humility is derived from the Latin word hummus, meaning Earth. So, to begin Immortal work, come down to Earth and develop simplicity. Real immortality is humble, gentle, and flows naturally and artfully through all phenomena and initiations without attracting any attention to itself. Relaxation and peace are essential. Empty the mind of thought, relax, be silent and listen to the humble song that has always been within you. There is no war… There is no conflict… There is no enemy… Through total relaxation, it is possible to sink to the heart of matter, and to discover that Immortality was always there – patiently and humbly waiting for you to arrive. Who Would Say No to Love? An article written in 2002 by Yasoda Deschenes for The Conscious Connection and reprinted here with her kind permission After 3 weeks, here in Staunton, staying on Leonard’s land, about a half hour from the training center, it came to me what has kept me away from the yearly Rebirthers Convention: robotically following my birth script, senility symptoms and arrogance. I would have absolutely denied this had anyone suggested it to me! In fact I would have been pissed off! These past years I stay with Leonard once, sometimes twice a year. I have a clear agenda when I come: to restore my body, my mind, my emotions; to reconnect with nature; to reconnect with the basic love of life that I always receive from (safely) staying in a dhuni and being with fire, breathing outside, morning, afternoon, day or night, rebirthing myself, experiencing the splendour of who I am apart from my family and my activity and work in Arcata; California, a small town in Northern California, and doing what I have always loved: entering Leonard’s experiences, observations, insights, feelings and life’s process into the computer. My stay includes not rebirthing anyone, leading nothing and not being involved with the center. So, it is with the same intention that I came this year. It just happened that my visit coincided with the International Rebirthers Convention. I was not going to participate. “I’m staying far away from people” was my mantra. “ This is MY time!” Yet, the day after my arrival, Leonard asked (you know, he has this true innocence) if I would lead a seminar on one of my favourite topics – “Successfully Creating a Clientele. “Yes” I immediately replied, a little surprised at myself. Then he says, “You’ll co-lead this with Heike (Strombach))”. “OK”, I cheerfully replied, yet I thought, “Shit! How do I do that? I don’t know how to co-lead with anyone!. I never co-lead!” Nonetheless, on our way to the training center, Heike and I divided up what we thought should be presented and as it turns out I presented what I know best and she presented what she knows best. We had two interpreters. There were people from Canada, Bolivia, Venezuela, Brazil, Spain, France, 5 people from Italy, Americans and Bolivar, a native of Venezuela or Syria, I forget, now living in Miami, Florida. Interpreting is a wonderful practice of getting to the point, not mincing words and breathing and naturally we used interpreters. In fact, I soon realized that interpreters actually process the energy of people so you have to take care of your interpreters. I had fun. It felt good being “back in the groove” of being with people from all parts of the world. And especially with those who are practicing daily breathing, bathing, fasting and fire purification. It makes for fun and safety. It’s been a long time since I gave trainings in Europe and South Africa. The following days at Leonard’s, I noticed I had this little, secret feeling that I was missing something by not being at the center but, hey, that’s not why I came, right? For two Sundays I went to the Unity Church in Charlottesville with Isabelle and the “Rebirthing gang”. “Wow, what a fun group of people to be with!”, I thought. “ Mmmmm, this feels great! I mean, when was the last time I felt safe enough to naturally hug and be hugged and want it?” I went to the center a few more times and I wanted (WHAT?) to rebirth someone. Giving felt natural; I truly received in closeness with this person. Then one evening, we all went to the ashram of Satchitananda where we learned that the guru wasn’t there. So, since we had been invited to the home of a long-time Babaji devotee, Noga Lord, we sang our heart’s out singing bhajans (devotional songs) in Noga and Galley’s exquisite dome. Playing the harmonium with 3 drums, many, many percussion instruments and 15 singers was exquisite for me. The energy was

Yasoda

so total that I felt the dome would take flight to the heavens. My soul was renewed and I was feeling born again. There is nothing quite like a rock’in out, Babaji Bhajan shindig. As I wrote earlier, I was typing additions and corrections to LEONARD’S his new book, The Story of Rebirthing (a MUST HAVE for every Rebirther), and many articles. In one article he was talking about Convention month and why Rebirthers don’t come. (There were maybe 5 Americans present). I think what he said was Rebirthers don’t come because of arrogance. BINGO! As my stay came to a close, I realized, while bathing-breathing one morning, that I, too, have stayed away – thinking that, “I already know the format. I’m a very good Rebirther and what else is there to learn”. Only, I heretofore, did not realize that I had those thoughts! It’s only when my mind had become fairly empty after weeks of purification and distance from all that I live, that some, hidden thoughts surface. As I continued typing articles, I even typed an article in which Leonard describes his latest birth memories – more memories have surfaced in such a short time span as never before. “Oh”, I thought. “I thought I had all of the memories I was going to have.” “ I mean, I’ve been Rebirthing daily since 1986 (it only took me 5 years to learn to breathe on my own, since 1981!) My birth script reads: “People hurt me”. Because of one attendant’s carelessness, unknowingness, I was hurt. I feel more safe, alone. My whole life, even though I am a trainer and seminar leader and an “out-going, friendly person”, I eat alone, go to movies alone, spend weekends alone, prefer traveling alone, rarely go to parties or potlucks, thinking instead just before the hour to leave, “I’d rather stay home”. My reasoning, however, has been that I needed the alone time to recover from all of the people in my life during the week – Rebirthing clients and homeless people where I am a “case manager” in Arcata C.A. Although there is truth to my keeping one day silent, away from people, now, it is a habit for me to automatically not participate in the world- apart from work. “Fuddy duddy consciousness”, I think Leonard once so named this state. The truth is I am afraid of being with most people, I don’t quite know what to do with myself when I am not doing, leading, managing. I don’t know how to just be! I never realized how driven my acting has been to perform for my perceived birth script. But what I forgot is that there was probably one person at my birth who was careless with me and I got hurt. I have unconsciously interpreted that to mean it is safe to be around no one, save a lover, yet I have even been hurt in lover relationships. Better to be alone. Once Leonard told me, “Yasoda, God doesn’t protect your ruts.” I’m so glad because I wouldn’t have had this experience-understanding so that I can begin to use intuition about when to join in with others – to join in more with living! Senility: Looks like I am in it in a very physical way. I thought somehow that I would skip this stuff just like I did with menopause. And I figured that it was a walk through the park for me due to my spiritual practices. When I was hot, I was hot, I opened window. No big deal. Senility. Me? Healthy, vibrant, always moving, me? This past year, I walk like a 70 year old. I have excruciating pain in my hips and legs. Walking is painful yet I have to walk. And I have been trying to hide it, which makes my body twice as tense and painful. I have limited my physical activity. I don’t cross a street unless there are no cars because I can’t bear for anyone to see me, young as I feel (but not in my hips and legs) I know how an “old” person feels. I hide from people I know, but everyone in the town knows me and people say, “Yasoda, what has happened to you?” I don’t know what to say. Everyone seems to want a single answer diagnosis. I ride my bike, which gives me complete liberation and use it walking downtown, walking with my bike, but I am really using it as a crutch. I use a shopping cart in a store, even to pick up a few things because I lean on it. It is only in my bath this morning that I shudder at this connection with the metal of the bike and shopping cart: I never knew my father without crutches. He was so stiff from arthritis, that he had to stand at the table. He had those aluminium crutches with cups which hold the arms. I quickly turn away when I see those kind today.

I guess it stirs something in me very deep and I don’t like the reminder. My life-long fear has been that I would become stiff like my father. So, I have never sat still. My father raised me as my mother worked. Is it any wonder that I did not walk until nearly age two? I have become my model. I try to hide these symptoms from my daughters who, every time they see me say, “Mom, go to a doctor and get fixed!” I know they want to see me out of pain and healthy, but it feels like disapproval. Leonard just came in the office and I told him about the pressure I get from my daughters to get fixed! He told me to ask them to contemplate “life after aging”. He said it took him 5 years to get through senility – and he relaxed into it! Ah, hope for me. My ideas of who I am are changing. In the past I have been “karma yogi par excellence” and devoted Pujari. Right now, I can’t hold all of this together. The truth is out – my body is not capable. And, the “killer”. I need help, only I have spent a life time not even recognizing when I needed help and refusing it anyway! I have asked for help only when all avenues have been pushed, sought, imagined. Heike, Leonard and Isabelle are helping me without judgement. This helps me to relax into moving as my body is moving. I don’t have to pretend or cover up. What a relief. I connect with the shame/protection I have of myself walking this way, shame of my father and shame of my sister who had a terrible, debilitating disease. Leonard carries my luggage to the trailer; brought me a meal to the dhuni, sent me popcorn one night, brings me juice and I witness his helpfulness, love, joy and generosity. So, arrogance, senility and birth trauma are the real reasons I have not participated in the RBI Annual Rebirthers Convention these past years. I love busting my own case! That is what is so inspiring about Leonard, to me: he continues to explore, discover and re-discover life’s experience to, on and in the human being bodyspiritmind. And when he writes, “I am learning to walk and talk all over again”, my mind is blown, I feel some identity and most of all – I feel hopefulness for my own personal body. Praise God! Praise Leonard! This is not the first time I have been saved by his wisdom. I’m inspired to make sure I come to next year’s convention. I have asked Bolivar to co-lead a seminar with me. In my morning bath I thought it would be wonderful to have an inspiring Rebirther-leader to each lead one of the seminars. I’m ready to coooo-lead Feb 2014: I just reread the above and made some changes. It is awesome for me to reflect on my changes. Since I wrote this article I am nearing 71, have had two complete hip replacement surgeries which has liberated me completely to dance and move and live in the world as I love. I still have a habit: I love being home. I am completely comfortable living by myself. Some things are only possible in the presence of others and other things are possible only in silence or aloneness. JAI MAHA MAYA KI JAI! Om Namaha Shivaiya! Yasoda (YASHU) Deschenes

Tree of Life I went to a counselling training last year called ‘Tree of Life’. ‘Tree of Life’ developed in response to counsellors in war torn areas noticing that severely traumatised children were feeling more trauma if regular counselling techniques were employed, ie they were restimulated and no integration was found. The Tree of Life technique uses the symbology of a tree to bring people back to who they are rather than focus on what has happened to them. So roots represent where we came from, trunk – values, fruit what we hope to produce etc I participated with a group of 8 people. As part of the process we drew our own tree, we put our tree pictures up on the wall for everyone in the group to see – a stranger forest you never did see. It was this part of the session I found most valuable, for I could clearly see myself in relation to others in the group. Some things were predictable, I already knew I am an outsider (my tree picture was at the end of the line and a bit more separate than the others) and an introvert ( my picture was barely visible from where we sat). The thing that blew me away was the roots of my tree took up more than half the page and reached out to the edges, not so for the other trees in the forest! Having an extensive root system makes it hard to push me over, this hasn’t always been the case, at one time you could knock me down with a feather as they say, I put this change down to rebirthing, I tend to do things these days from a sense of purpose. It also makes it difficult to move me, I’ve never been much of a traveller, the urge to stop and put down ‘roots’ has always been strong, I have never wanted to be a tourist, I’m much more interested in finding out what is going on behind the scenes. Looking after the Earth has always made sense to me and I have made attempts to do that all my life. My current project is working with John, my husband to increase the life energy present on our 40 acres of land. We have found that this requires a lot of time and energy and the changes are not generally noticed by others. It’s not something that can be done by following a ‘formula’ but rather requires our own unique relationship with Earth and other species to be felt and developed. Sometimes when I walk across one of our paddocks and let myself be, I feel a rush of energy that comes directly from the Earth through my feet up to my heart that is a radiation of pure joy – I get from this that ‘Earth’ is happy with what we are up to and that even though very few people ‘get it’ and therefore it is not something that is valued in our society (ie no-one would pay us to do it!) it is one of the best things we have ever done.
