“And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who

cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? Luke 18:7

We’ve had a crazy month medically. Eric’s heart was

back in Atrial-Fibrillation and we spent a weekend in the

hospital while he was put on a new medication and

cardioverted. Matthew tore the lateral meniscus in his left

knee wrestling this year. (He tore the right one wrestling

last year!) He had surgery to trim the meniscus. They are

both feeling great and Matt is already looking forward to

summer football.

We are also thankful that Eric will be returning to Kenya for

two weeks in June with Shelter Cove Church. Please pray

for safe travels for the entire team.

Everyone else is doing well. Nick and Kate are finishing up

their second years of college. Stephen is swimming for

OHS. Chris and Charlie are learning to rope, Jack’s playing

baseball, and Gracie is barrel racing. Love how the Lord

has given them each such different passions! Lisa, for all of the KJs

Some of you may remember me writing before about Maggie. She is the sweet, mentally challenged young lady who was the very first resident of Agape Girls. The Lord used Maggie to show us how desperately a home for

girls was needed in Kisumu, but two and a half years after coming to us, we are running out of options for her.

We’ve seen tremendous growth in Maggie in the past years; most measurably, Maggie is able to articulate her faith in Jesus and even returned to the children’s jail, where she lived for a time, to give her testimony to the girls!

We’ve attempted many placements for Maggie but either her behavior has been inappropriate for the situation or she has run away, sometimes just hours later, to rejoin the street gang she was first found with. When asked what she wants, Maggie replies, “I want to be with that man.” “That man” is the leader of a street gang in Kisumu and clearly we can’t let Maggie go be with him. Attempts to find a vocation that Maggie can be trained in have been unsuccessful due to her lack of academic skills.

Will you join me in crying out to God, day and night, on Maggie’s behalf? I know the Lord has a place for this sweet girl. I know that place isn’t on the streets. There is an auntie who would like for Maggie to come live with her and the staff is very slowly trying to introduce Maggie to the idea. We really need this placement to be successful. Please pray:

Pray Maggie’s desire to be on the streets would be broken.

Pray the hold “That man” has on Maggie would be broken.

Pray for Maggie’s aunt. That if Maggie is placed there, that she would be kind and loving and able to give Maggie the support and guidance she needs.

Pray that Maggie would be content to remain at home.

Thank you for praying with me!
