New York Power Authority Overview
▪ Established in 1931 by act of the New York Legislature
▪ Began operating St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project in 1958
▪ Funded through operating activities and private debt
▪ 1,400 circuit-miles of transmission lines
▪ 16 hydro and natural gas generation plants with combined boilerplate rating of almost 6 GW

▪ Sustain more than 380,000 jobs through economic development

Our Program ParticipantsPublic Authority’s Law authorizes NYPA to finance and design, develop,

• Any not-for-profit institute of higher education within NYS

• Any recipient of NYPA’s economic development power programs

NYPA serves as a trusted energy partner to implement energy projects through
design, simplifying the procurement process, ensuring on-time results, and
achieving cost savings for customers
• No upfront costs until the energy-saving project is completed
