CAPTURE A SCENARIO
How might Rahul, anxious to meet his parents, travel long distance i.e from college to his home while ensuring his safety?
Lockdown Scenario
Journey of Rahul from college to his home:
Journey Scenario
Rahul had to transit through many transport facilities in order to reach his home.

Area of Focus
As people can be transported in mass through railways, we have selected RAILWAY as our broad domain.
Stakeholder Mapping
For Railway Transportation
● Indian Railways is the largest rail network in Asia and the world's second-largest.
● Indian Railways currently operates 14,300 trains daily.
● It has an average daily ridership of 30 million passengers. So, on average every train has an average of 2098 people per train service.
Current Scenarios:
● From May 1 to May 28, 3,840 Shramik special trains has moved 52 lakh passengers.
● Indian Railways to start 200 trains from June 1. ● Indian Railways start Tatkal, 4-month advance
bookings in these 230 trains.

How should the Indian Railways offer an optimal system ensuring the safety of the passengers?
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Large groups of people are stranded at different locations who need to be transported to their desired destination safely. If the safety protocols are not up to standard then there is a risk of transmitting the virus.
With the population so big, and people travelling in mass. A solution must be provided and safety norms must be considered.

Solution
The escessence of the design is:
● One way flow to avoid turbulence
● Color coded routes to reach destination
● Raah app
● Easy and safe journey of passengers
Waiting Area
Thermal Scan
Entry to Platform
Ticket Scanning
One way flow
● One way flow has been designed for the foot over bridge to avoid turbulence of people..
● The footprint guides to island platform and has same color coding as on the app screen.
● The arrival and departure of trains have to be managed such that a single train will arrive on island platform at a time.
● For stations with more platform, three to four when
required can used to maintain social distancing.
Way to Platform
One way flow
● To avoid the unnecessary frustration, collisions and gathering of people for searching their seats one way flow has been adopted in our system design.
● The entry of passenger inside train will be permitted only through single door.
● Similarly exit will be permitted through the other door only.
● This system will helpful at the intermediate stations where few people need to exit and few need to enter the trains.

Display Screen
Raah
The journey towards safety
The Raah app is a digital platform connecting different stakeholders. The app offers an interactive color play, changing as per your platform. It offers real-time information of the Indian railway station.
● COVID risk scanner provides passengers own self-health checkup bot.
● It can Help connect to the railway officials for problems like theft/medical help.
● Well-versed safety instructions are displayed for the passengers and railway officials.
● Connect the passengers to the vendors for food and water services.
● Auto Fetch PNR from IRCTC booking message and generate QR Code in app.
● All vital information regarding ticket display constantly on all screens.
Landing Page
Display Screens
● Crowd density shown via red dots for the users to identify a crowd nearby him/her.
● Manage the crowd properly for the railway management team
● Real time data update through GPS access.
● Proper Navigation throughout the railway station for ease of the passenger movement
● Added advantage to track all vendors, food stall, amenities and offices on the railway station
Navigation
QR screen
● Proper Elaborated Passenger Details and visual balance of information.
● Footsteps indicating to follow that particular color footsteps to reach the right number platform.
● Color of screen changes according to the platform color.
Post a representative pic to capture the impact of your
solution on your target user’s Life in Lockdown
● People are happy and can safely reach their desired destination.
● Random people (thieves, terrorist, people without ticket) cannot enter the system due to the transparency.
● Safety of railway staff and passengers on the platform is ensured.
● Transportation of people in COVID-19 pandemic is more safer.
● In the future pandemic situations, thissolution can be implemented.
● If loved ones are lost in the station, they can be tracked by passengers and Railway officials via Raah App
