The Mystery Of Steins Gate and the New World

That night Imperator Caesar Divi Filius Augustus was pacing inside his chamber consumed by the thought of Rome spiralling into chaos. He was so engulfed in his rivalry with Mark Antony that he overlooked its effect on Rome and the rest of his empire. Augustus was pouring himself some wine, to clear his head, when the room shuddered. There was screaming but not in any language he had heard before. His first reaction was to unsheathe his sword in the unlikely event that his quarter was being assaulted. He slowly opened the door but there was no one in sight. Carrying on into the hallway he saw one of the guest rooms completely destroyed. The walls had turned to rubble, as if it had been rammed, and yet there was no one in sight. He was sure he had heard screaming coming from this direction though. He slowly crept towards the opening when he heard some movement. He yelled a warning signal that he was entering the room. Nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to see. A large metal box was sitting right in the centre of the room with red and green lights coming out of it. From behind it, a man and a woman appeared. They looked very different to anyone Augustus had ever seen.

The man then said Emporer Augustus, my name is Rintarou Okabe and this is my assistant Kurisu Makise. We are from the future; 2030 Julian calendars years in the future to be exact. Pointing to the large metal box he continued This is the time-ship we used to travel through Steins Gate and arrive here. Augustus still trying to understand what he was witnessing asked Why?. Kurisu Makise took the initiative to explain In our time a war broke out that led to the near extinction of the human race. Eight young men were the only ones to survive. They used huge time-ships to repopulate all the lands but knew that they couldnt lead any of them. Okabe continued These huge time-ships are now unrepairable, useless even. The only time-ships left are eight of these smaller ones. Augustus, not wanting to reveal that he hasnt understood a word they have said, encouraged them to keep explaining. Makise pushed Okabe out of the way and said We have been selected to bring you and six others to The Land of Karnia to lead the people to prosperity. But we need to hurry, who knows how long these smaller time-ships will last
