Over the last several months I have had the great pleasure of working with Tomas Jimenez, GER Asst GC Super II, and Brandon McIntosh, COCH Asst GC Super II, directly as managers on the same course. They both demonstrated an unbeatable desire to produce the best

product for the Schwab Cup Championship and for the membership. The level of teamwork and quality of leadership each one of these guys has is what puts Desert Mountain on a higher level than other

courses. Working 100 hours during the Schwab Cup week after already working

very long, hard days for two months straight, and continuing a positive attitude and a strong desire to keep performing better is why I nominate these two as Managers of the Week. It’s been a great pleasure working with them and I know they will continue to do great work for Desert Mountain Club!

-Eric Scharf, COCH Asst GC Super II

We were so happy to see Napoleon [Guardacasa] at Outlaw Grill the other evening. We don’t often comment but feel this employee deserves special recognition. He always greets the guests with a smile and sincerity to help. We first encountered Napoleon several years ago when our grandchildren recognized him after a few days of

Kids Camp. We were dining at Outlaw and their enthusiasm and joy at seeing him was endearing. We have since

watched him over the years as he demonstrates all that is important at Desert Mountain. We’ve witnessed him handling all members and guests with efficiency and professionalism that goes above and beyond. He is a wonderful representative of your staff at D.M., and we hope he stays around for years ahead. -Mr. and Mrs. Shaheen

Week 4—November 19-25 PAY ATTENTION TO PORTION SIZES -Don’t put dishes of food on the dinner table; you’re more likely to go back for seconds. Dish up in the kitchen. -Did you know that a serving of meat, fish or poultry is equal to the size of a deck of cards? -Use 9” diameter or smaller dishes tonight. -Avoid grazing before your Thanksgiving meal—place a few snacks on a small plate to prevent overeating. -If snacking and watching TV, avoid eating out of the bag. -Did you know half a cup of fruit or vegetables is about the size of your cupped hand?
