Solemnity of the Most Blessed Body and Blood of Christ Today, in many places, a procession is held as a public tribute to the Eucharist. In other places, this tradition has been abandoned because it lost its character of authentic Christian celebration. This procession is the solemn conclusion of the most important celebration of our faith: the Mass.

Today, in this celebration of the Body and Blood of the Lord, we offer Jesus Christ an homage; this should inspire us to evaluate our fidelity, love, and respect for the Eucharist.

It would be good to ask ourselves: How do I live every Sunday when we gather to renew our faith in the Eucharistic assembly? Do I thank God the Father for the gift of his Son? Am I respectful and attentive to the celebration of Mass? Do I participate actively, or do I become another piece of furniture in the church? Am I aware of my commitment of taking what was celebrated at Mass to my daily life?

As we celebrate the memorial of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we affirm our faith in Him, in His Word, in His teaching, and in His Lordship. The Mass is the celebration of what it means to be Christians, expressing what is common to us: the love of Jesus. It is that love that impels us to honor him, to celebrate him, to receive him, and to take him to daily life.

Finally, I want to thank the community of St. Mary Star of the Sea for these four years of my ministry with you. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly. Thank you for walking with me, for teaching me. Thank you for your support, your kind smiles, and your generous commitment to God and his Church. St. Mary Star of the Sea was my first parish as a priest, but it feels as home, as my family. God bless you all! I commend myself to your prayers.

NOTES FROM THE RECTORY:

Solemnidad del Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo Hoy, en muchos lugares, se realiza una procesión como homenaje público a la Eucaristía. En otros lugares se ha abandonado esta tradición porque perdía su carácter de celebración auténticamente cristiana. Pero sea como sea, la procesión es una conclusión solemne de la celebración más importante de nuestra fe: la Misa.

Hoy en esta fiesta del Cuerpo y la Sangre del Señor, ofrecemos a Jesucristo un homenaje, pero esto debe motivarnos a revisar nuestra fidelidad, amor y respeto a la Eucaristia.

Sería bueno preguntarnos ¿Cómo vivo cada domingo cuando nos reunimos a renovar la fe en la asamblea eucaristica? ¿doy gracias al Padre por el don de su Hijo? ¿Soy respetuoso y atento a la celebracion de la Misa? ¿Participo activamente, o me convierto en un mueble mas de la iglesia? ¿soy conciente de mi compromiso de llevar lo celebrado en la Misa a mi vida cotidiana?

Al celebrar el memorial de la Pasion, Muerte y Resurrección de Jesucristo, afirmamos nuestra fe en El, en su Palabra, en su enseñanza, en su señorío. La misa es la celebración de lo que significa ser cristianos, manifestando lo que nos es común: el amor de Jesus. Es ese amor el que nos impulsa a honrarle, a celebrarle, a recibirle y a llevarlo a la vida cotidiana.

Finalmente, quiero agradecer a la comunidad de Santa Maria Estrella del Mar por estos cuatro años de mi ministerio con ustedes. Gracias por recibirme cálidamente, gracias por caminar conmigo, por enseñarme; gracias por su apoyo, sus sonrisas amables y su compromiso generoso con Dios y su Iglesia. Santa Maria Estrella del Mar fue mi primer parroquia como sacerdote, pero se siente como mi casa, mi familia. Dios les bendiga a todos! Me encomiendo a su oración.

and on Wednesday July 25th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the rectory.

We require a copy of your child’s/children’s baptismal and First Communion (if they have made their First Communion) certificate when you register. We also require that your first payment be made when you register. The first payment for a family with one child in the program is $75. For two children from the same family the first payment is $100 and for three or more in the same family the first payment is $125. Your balance will then be payable in 5 equal payments over a period of five months beginning in October.

NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT CERTIFICATES OR PROPER PAYMENT.

Las pláticas de preparación bautismal son el 1er jueves del mes (español) y el 4o lunes de cada mes (ingles), en la Rectoria. Papás y padrinos deben asistir. Favor de inscribirse en la Rectoría .
