Hadith: Sayings of the Holy Prophet (saw) THE WISH OF THE MUJAHID (I.E MARTYRED) TO RETURN TO THE WORLD

Narrated by Hadhrat Anas bin Malik (ra) that the Holy Prophet (saw) said, "nobody who enters Paradise

wishes to return to the world even if he is offered everything on earth, except a Mujahid who wishes to return to

the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the dignity he receives (from Allah).‘‘ (Bukhari)

Martyrdom of Muslims at Bi’r Ma’unah

The Holy Prophet (saw) was saddened to learn

about the martyrdom of six of his Companions (ra) as a

result of the treachery of Hudhail. During this period of

anguish, Abu Bara, Amir ibn Malik came to see the Holy

Prophet (saw) . The Holy Prophet (saw) preached to

Abu Bara and encouraged him to accept the message of

Islam. However, Abu Bara didn‘t accept the message.

At the same time, he requested the Holy Prophet (saw)

to send some of his Companions to convey the message

of Islam to the people of Najd. The Holy Prophet (saw)

was reluctant to do so as he was worried that this may

be another treacherous scheme to harm Islam as was

done earlier by the Hudhail tribe. However, Abu Bara

assured the Holy Prophet (saw) that he will be their

guardian and protector. Abu Bara being a notable per-

son with strong influence among his people was a trust-

worthy person. Accordingly, the Holy Prophet (saw) sent

with Abu Bara around seventy Hafiz-e-Qur‘an (reciters)

under the leadership of Mundhir ibn Amr. Most of them

were Ansar. The delegation left on their mission and

reached the place known as, Bi‘r Maunah, located close

to the borders of Banu ‗Amir and Banu Sulman. From

there, they sent the message of the Holy Prophet (saw)

through Haram ibn Milhan to Amir ibn al-Tufail. Amir

ibn al-Tufail didn‘t bother to read the Holy Prophet

(saw) ‘s letter and killed the messenger.

Furthermore, he incited the people of Banu

‗Amir against the Muslims and urged them to kill them.

However, due to the protection given by Abu Bara, the

tribesmen refused to do so. Then Amir ib al-Tufail con-

tacted the people of other tribes to do the job. Some of

them responded and killed the Muslims. Only, Ka‘b ibn

Zaid and Amr ibn Umayyah survived. Ka‘b ibn Zaid was

severely wounded and was left for dead. ‗Amr ibn

Umayyah was freed by ‗Amir ibn al-Tufail as an atone-

ment to fulfil his mother‘s pledge to compensate for a

man‘s life which she owed. Seventy Hafiz-e-Qur‘an

Companions (ra) were martyred.

The martyrdom of Muslims at Bi‘r Ma‘unah was

very painful and distressing for the Holy Prophet (saw) .

All the Muslims were saddened to learn about the fate

of their brethren. The Holy Prophet (saw) put the

blame of this tragedy solely upon Abu Bara. However,

Abu Bara was also saddened with the tragedy and

wanted to take revenge from Amir ibn al-Tufail for vio-

lating his protective agreement with the Muslims. Ac-

cordingly, he sent his own son, al-Raji to kill Amir ibn al

-Taufail. (The Holy Prophet of Islam, Hadhrat Muhammad Mustafa

Writings of the Promised Messiah and

Imam Mahdi as

Paigham-e-Sulh (A Message of Peace) was the last written work of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Mus-

lim Community. He wrote:

"A religion which does not inculcate universal

compassion is no religion at all. Similarly, a human be-

ing without the faculty of compassion is no human at

all. Our God has never discriminated between one peo-

ple and another. This is illustrated by the fact that all

the potentials and capabilities which have been granted

to the Aryans have also been granted to the races in-

habiting Arabia, Persia, Syria, China, Japan, Europe and

America. The earth created by God provides a common

floor for all people alike, and His sun and moon and

many stars are a source of radiance and provide many

other benefits to all alike. Likewise, all peoples benefit

from the elements created by Him, such as air, water,

fire and earth, and similarly from other products cre-

ated by Him like grain, fruit, and healing agents, etc.

These attributes of God teach us the lesson that we,

too, should behave magnanimously and kindly towards

our fellow human beings and should not be petty of

heart and illiberal."

An Account of the Tragic Martyrdom of

Maulawi Sahibzadah Abdul Latif ra by the

Promised Messiah (as)

All these reports have reached

us through eye-witnesses and are not

hearsay. We are told that a very large

number of people were present in the

court and every time the Amir sug-

gested repentance to the condemned

sage, he (Sahibzadah Abdul Latif (ra) turned down the

offer in a loud, clear voice. It was on that occasion also

that he (Sahibzadah Abdul Latif ra) declared in a loud

voice that he would rise again six days after he was

murdered. I, the writer, believe that this statement

must have been based on revelation that he had re-

ceived. As a matter of fact, the saint had already

reached the stage where one's connection with the

world is cut off and the angels were shaking hands with

him in welcome. What he meant by this declaration was

that the angels had given him the glad tidings that he

would rise before the seventh day, the Day of Allah. It

must also be borne in mind that the Martyrs killed in

the path of Allah are raised after a few days as is men-

tioned in the Holy Qur‘an:

Think not of those who have been slain in the cause of

Allah as dead. Nay, they are living, in the presence of

their Lord, and are granted gifts from Him (3:170).

This was exactly what the saint had meant at

that time. I saw in a vision that a large, green and

flourishing branch of a cypress (evergreen) tree in our

garden had been cut down and someone was holding it

in his hand. Then I heard someone saying: Plant this

branch in the land near my house in the place of that

which has been cut. It will grow again. I also received

the revelation: Severed from Kabul and came straight

to us. I, therefore, interpret that the blood of the

martyred saint has been shed but like a seed it shall

grow in time and prosper exceedingly. Our commu-

nity shall increase there in large numbers.

Hudhur (atba) recited verses 31 – 33 of Surah

Ha Mim Al Sajdah, the translation reads:

‘As for those who say, ‗Our Lord is Allah,‘ and then re-main steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‗Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that

you were promised.

‗We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter.

Therein you will have all that your souls will desire, and

therein you will have all that you will ask for —‗An en-

tertainment from the Most Forgiving, the Merci-

ful.‘ (41:31 – 33).

Explaining Hudhur (atba) said each week he

receives thousands of letters asking for prayers regard-

ing illnesses, prayers for dear ones, letters including

Hudhur (atba) in the joy of marriages, letters asking

prayers regarding anxiety over finding matrimonial

matches, prayers for blessings in employment, busi-

nesses or problems relating to them, prayers for success

in examinations, in short many other subjects. How-

ever, last week Hudhur (atba) received thousands more

letters than is usual and the subject of all of them re-

volved around the great sacrifices of the Shaheeds

(martyrs) of Lahore. There was expression of grief and

pain and anger, but the anger transformed in the very

next sentence in patience and prayers. Every one forgot

their own problems. These letters came from Pakistan,

India, Australia and the island, from Europe, America

and Africa. These were not just the emotions of

Ahmadis of Pakistani descent. Rather, person of every

ethnicity who has been enabled to come into the bai’at

of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has been

expressing anguish as if it were their close, blood rela-

tions who had been victims of the cruelty. As for those

whose close relations were martyred, they have been

consoling Hudhur (atba) in their letters on the martyr-

dom of their sons, fathers, brothers and husbands. It is

a great account of patience and steadfastness.

Hudhur (atba) personally telephoned the fami-

lies of all the martyrs to pay his condolences. Hudhur

(atba) said he should be informed if any family has

been missed. In each family that Hudhur (atba) rang, he

found children, wives, mother and fathers submitting to

the will of God. Hudhur (atba) said letters can conceal

emotions but he clearly heard their resolute voices on

the telephone expressing in light of the Quranic injunc-

tion: …‗Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we

return.‘ (2:157).

Hudhur (atba) said having read all these letters

he feels unable to express his own emotions. However,

they have further strengthened his belief that most cer-

tainly God granted these beloved people to the Prom-

ised Messiah (as) in order to accomplish his high objec-

tives. These are the great people who are patient and

steadfast, whose departed ones also demonstrated

models of steadfastness as they met their God and thus

verified the Quranic statement of: ‗And say not of those

who are killed in the cause of Allah that they are dead;

nay, they are living; only you perceive not.‘ (2:155).

Hudhur (atba) said he has seen a most heart-

breaking video recorded by an injured person which is

most moving. God indeed took sacrifices of these peo-

ple but His angels showered tranquillity on them and

they waited patiently for hours without groaning and

instead prayed. A 19 year old was hit by several bullets

but he waited patiently for hours in one position and

prayed. If the police had arrived on time many precious

lives would have been saved but where the entire sys-

tem is full of disorder what else can be expected? One

young man caught the terrorist‘s grenade wanting to

throw it back, but the grenade detonated. He thus gave

his life and saved many. An elderly person also offered

his life as he ran towards the assailant thus taking all

the bullets on his body. Hudhur (atba) said the IG of the

police is boasting that the police captured two terror-

ists. This is what happens when the entire system, from

top to bottom, is reeks of untruth. Indeed, the two ter-

rorists who were held were held by our own. One was

held by a young man who is slim of build but was full of

faith. He held the terrorist with one hand on his neck

and the other preventing him to detonate his suicide

belt.

Hudhur (atba) said the terrorists were men in

their late teens early twenties of deprived back-

grounds. Due to poverty these people are taken in

childhood by criminals who brainwash them, give him

false hopes of Paradise and make them carry out sui-

cide attacks whereas such death incurs God‘s

treme patience and steadfastness.

An Ahmadi from Syria was visiting and was in

the mosque and got injured. He relates that he has

never quite seen anything like this ever before. There

was no panic, no chaos, no fear. Everyone was doing

their duties, obeying instructions even when firing was

going on.

Moving the coffins of the martyrs in ambulances

one young man remarked that the last coffin was his

father‘s. Rather than leave with the coffin in the ambu-

lance, he went back to his duty in the mosque. Hudhur

(atba) said these are the great people of the Promised

Messiah (on whom be peace) who only show their emo-

tions to God. Hudhur (atba) said there were scores of

other incidents which will be all collated and written

down at a later time. Every one says while the terror-

ists were in the mosque there was no sense of panic. As

long as they were alive, the Murabbi sahib, the office

holders gave out instructions and they were followed.

Even afterwards everyone remained organised. One eld-

erly person stayed in prostration posture. Hudhur (atba)

said these are illustrations of true faith.

Hudhur (atba) said he would mention the mar-

tyrs another time. He announced leading their funeral

Prayer after Jummah. Following these atrocities an

Ahmadi was martyred in Narowal district Pakistan while

he slept in his house. His son was injured in the attack,

may God grant him healing and elevate the station of

the deceased, who leaves behind a widow, three

daughters and three sons. The murderer belonged to

the Tahafuz e Khatm e Nabuwat group and confessed

that he had carried out the act in light of the statement

of a mullah following the Lahore incidents.

Hudhur (atba) prayed that may God keep each

Ahmadi safe from every evil. Hudhur (atba) said pray

profusely; also pray for the injured that may God grant

them perfect healing.

displeasure. We never see the ring-leaders of the ter-

rorists, we never seen them sacrificing their own chil-

dren. It is the children of the deprived who lose their

lives.

Hudhur (atba) said he had thought that he

would relate some incidents but some of them are so

heartbreaking that Hudhur (atba) feared he would over-

come with emotion. However, Hudhur (atba) related a

few:

One worshipper at the funeral Prayer said, ‗ I

have received one more blessing, I am now a father of a

martyr. My resolve and courage is high.‘ One Ahmadi

was informed that his brother had been martyred he

should go to such and such hospital. His reply was, ‗the

one who has departed has gone. I will stay here,

Ahmadi brothers may need my blood donation.‘ One

mother said, ‗I have placed my youth son from my lap

onto God‘s lap, he was God‘s trust‘. Shad sahib, our

martyred missionary of Model Town who was delivering

Friday sermon at the time of attack, continued to re-

cite Durud and prayers and also said Allaho Akbar

aloud. He had mentioned earlier Ahmadi martyrdoms at

Fajr on the day. About 200 Ahmadis took shelter under

the staircase outside. One terrorist came to the edge of

the courtyard. Had he come outside, the 200 Ahmadis

would not have remained. A 65 year old Ahmadi ran

towards him and took his bullets on his chest. The ter-

rorist was delayed in coming out and as a result many

Ahmadis ran to safety. When it was all over and they

came out, they saw many martyrs lay on the staircase.

One Ahmadi who was visiting from Japan went

to funeral Prayers. He says that these funeral Prayers

evoked memory of the time of the Holy Prophet (saw).

Such were the models of steadfastness that it is diffi-

cult to put them in words. He met an elderly person

and asked him how did he know the martyr? His reply

was, ‗he was my son‘. The narrator says his heart sank

but the father of the martyr said, ‗Alhamdolillah, it was

God‘s will‘. There were resolute faces all around. A

lady has related that her young children had gone for

Friday Prayers, God saved them. When the incident was

shown on the TV the lady‘s neighbouring women

flocked to her house assuming she would be wailing.

However, she told them our matter is with God. She

told them she was not concerned about her children;

everyone [in the mosque] was her relative. If her chil-

dren were martyred they would gain nearness to God, if

they survived they would be Ghazi (one who has been

in a conflict for Islam). One mother lost her only son,

her other children are daughters, she is exhibiting ex-

Ahmadis are Muslim

There is so much I w

after all, is th

nity?

Thank you for understanding!

The Moment I heard of the

Lahore Attacks

On the morning of Friday 28th May, I just had my breakfast and was reading the Holy Qur‘an when I received a phone call from my aunt in Germany to put the television on and when I did so I was terrified be-cause of the shocking news that came. That many terrorists had entered the two mosques in Ghari Shaw and Model Town in Lahore, Pakistan, and started firing at the worshipers who were engaged in offering their Jumu‘ah prayer. I was in real shock. No such brutal attack on Ahmadi Muslims of such scale had been done before! So then I switched the channel to MTA and saw tilawat of the Holy Quran being broad-cast. At the bottom of the screen it was written -―two Ahmadi Mosques in Lahore, Pakistan, are under attack by terrorists who are enemies of Islam-Ahmadiyyat, and all Ahmadi Muslims are requested to pray

for their brothers‖-

What is the truth in the Media?

My name is Sultan Sattar and I am 14 years old. I am a British born Tifl of Glasgow Jama‘at. On Friday the 28th of May, my ears were filled with the horrific news of an attack on two of our Ahmadi mosques while people were offering their Jumu‘ah namaaz. When I was informed about this tragic incident, I rushed to the TV and switched on the news, but found very little reporting of

this event on the British channels.

This annoyed me as 86 innocent brothers of our commu-nity had lost their lives. Not too long after these attacks there was an attack in Cumbria, where a man went on a rampage with an assault rifle, murdering 12 people and this was reported around the world on nearly every news

channel.

It saddens me that the government and media would make a huge issue for the Cumbria incident but could not care the lightest bit for those Muslims who have been killed for practicing their religion. You can‘t begin to imagine how families in Pakistan are feeling if they have lost their loved ones. I feel like the British government should put some pressure on the Pakistani government to change their blasphemy laws to make life a whole lot

easier for the Ahmadi Muslims there.

May Allah forgive those people who carried out the at-tacks and let those who have died rest in peace in para-

dise. Ameen

United Nations Charter of Human Rights

Pakistani citizens and politicians should keep in mind that their Country a signatory to the United Nations charter of human rights that has thirty articles. It is high time for the Pakistani society to elevate Pakistan to these high ideals in this time of international turmoil and unrest.

It is time to stop paying lip service to these ethics

and actually start imbibing them and living up to

these standards.

Murder In The Name of Allah

This book was originally written in Urdu in the 1950‘s by Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (ru). His analysis about the religious and political situation in Pakistan has come true in the subsequent 6 decades. It is a must read for all serious students of religion and how it can in-termingle with politics. Excerpt from the Editor‘s foreword: ―Mirza Tahir Ahmad shows how Islam is being exploited by the Mullahs and presented to the world as a medieval theocracy. Mirza Tahir Ahmad set the Munir Commission Report within the context of the Quran, hadith and Islamic history. He had separated fact from fiction and the law of the Quran from the interpretations of the sultan-serving faqih.‖ To read the whole book go to: http://www.alislam.org/library/books/mna/

Earlier today two mosques belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Lahore were attacked by terrorists. The mosques were the Baitul Nur Mosque in Model Town and the Darul Zikr Mosque in Gharishaw. The attacks are the culmination of years of un-policed persecution of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, which is a minority sect in Pakistan. In 1974 legislation was passed that declared Ahmadis to be ‗non-Muslim‘ and in 1984 further legislation was passed in which the practice of the faith was outlawed. At regular intervals since then Ahmadis have been attacked but today‘s at-tack is the most cruel and barbaric. All Ahmadis, who are based in 195 countries, are peace loving and toler-ant people and yet they are continually targeted by extremist factions. During his Friday Sermon at 1pm today the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat condemned the terrorist at-tacks. His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba) said:

―Today two of our mosques in Lahore were attacked by extremists. At the moment we do not have full de-tails of what has happened. It is clear though that a number of our Ahmadis have been killed and many oth-ers have been injured.

These people had merely come to the mosque to offer their Friday prayers and yet became victims of a heinous terrorist attack. May God grant patience to the bereaved and elevate the status of those who have been martyred.‖ In response to the terrorist attacks that took place at two Ahmadi mosques in Lahore earlier today, His Holi-ness, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has issued the fol-lowing statement:

―The terrorist attacks that occurred today at two of our mosques in Lahore were completely barbaric and alien to all forms of humanity.

These attacks took place in mosques which are places of worship and at the time of the Friday prayers which all Muslims know is a holy and sacred time. No true Muslims could ever countenance such attacks, such cruelty and such barbaric behaviour. No form of terror-

ism has any place in Islam and thus those who were behind these at-tacks may justify their acts in its name, but let it be clear they are Muslim only in name and never in deed.

The situation in Pakistan is ex-tremely grave. For decades Ahmadi Muslims have not been able to live in peace, in fact they live their lives in constant danger. In 1974 Ahmadi Muslims were de-clared ‗non-Muslim‘ by the Government of Pakistan and then ten years later the infamous Ordinance XX was adopted which criminalised all forms of Ahmadi worship and the practice of its faith.

These laws effectively legitimised the exclusion and persecution of our Jama‘at in Pakistan. Ever since, ex-tremists have taken advantage and targeted Ahmadis. Despite this cruelty Ahmadis have remained loyal citi-zens of Pakistan and have never shown any form of civil disobedience.

At this time we do not know the full extent of what has happened. However it is clear that dozens of Ahmadis have been killed and many others have been injured. I pray that Allah may grant patience to all those who have been left bereaved and grant an ele-vated status in Paradise to those who have been mar-tyred. May God restore to health those who have been injured.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama‘at is a peace loving true Muslim Jama‘at. Thus there will be no improper reaction from any Ahmadi. Our salvation lies in our sup-plications to God Almighty and we believe that He has, and always will, help us. No terrorist and no govern-ment can ever stop the progress of our Jama‘at be-cause it is a Divine organisation.

May Allah protect all good natured people from the evil acts of those opposed to peace.‖

Terrorist attacks on Ahmadi Mosques in Pakistan HEAD OF AHMADIYYA MUSLIM JAMAAT RESPONDS TO TERRORISTS ATTACKS IN LAHORE

Press Release 28th May 2010

European Parliament Condemns the Attacks

Dear Arshad Mehmood (Nazim Atfal Glasgow) Many thanks for your recent e-mail to Alyn Smith, Member of the European Parliament for Scotland. Alyn has asked me to thank you for taking the time to contact him about what is clearly a very sensitive issue. Like the President of the European Parliament, Alyn also condemns the attack against Mosques in Lahore. It may be helpful if I provide you with a copy of the statement issued on behalf of the European Parliament's President, Jerzy Buzek, in which he states: "I am very shocked that people who came together peacefully to pray were attacked and taken as hostage. I really condemn this destructive and shameful attack against the Pakistan people." "Everyone in Europe mourns with the Pakistan people today which was so tragically hit by this attack." "I would like to insist on the absolute importance of the mutual respect between all relig-ion groups. And I also insist on the importance of respect towards the life of human beings. You do not prove you are right when you kill

innocent people."

Islam - Respect for all religions I am Arslan Ahmed from Atfalul Ahmadiyya Glasgow. I am 13 years old and

studying in Glasgow.

On the 28th May in Pakistan, two Ahmadiyya mosques were attacked by some

terrorist bombers. This incident saddened me too much. In Bait-un-Noor

mosque in Model Town and Dar-ul-Zikr mosque in Ghari Shaw Lahore, more

than 85 innocent Ahmadi Muslims were martyred and more than 120 were

injured and some are still in hospital.

These terrorists entered into the gates of these mosques and start spraying

bullets and throwing grenades towards worshipers. Then they entered the

main halls where Ahmadis were offering their Jumu‘ah pray. An eleven year

old boy and eighty year old man were amongst those who died without any

reason. Our Ahmadi brothers have been killed brutally by the enemies of Islam

and Ahmadiyyat since 1954, all around the world but especially in Pakistan.

In Pakistan Ahmadis are not allowed to call themselves Muslims and are

banned to say ‗‘Asslamu Alaikum‘‘, or saying Kalima and Adhan. I strongly

condemn these blasphemy laws against Ahmadis and the killing of our innocent

brothers.

Your say!!

The real truth - Pakistan attacks My name is Adeel Ahmed. I am 11 years old and a

member of Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya Glasgow. I would

like to express my feelings about what happened on

the 28th May on Friday.

We got a phone call from my cousin who asked us to

watch the news on TV, we asked him what has hap-

pened. He was crying with sorrow and seemed very

sad. When we switched on the TV and watched the

news we were shocked to see that some terrorists had

attacked our mosques in Lahore Pakistan. We all be-

came sad and then my younger sister who is only 4

years old asked all of us, what was wrong? We couldn‘t

explain to her clearly and she also couldn‘t understand

the situation but looked worried.

We called our aunt in Pakistan who is living in Lahore

and asked about her family. She said Alhamdulillah

they are safe but some of our relatives were inside the

mosque and everybody was crying and praying to Allah

for their safety.

I would like to pay tribute to those of our Khuddam

inside the mosque who managed to capture two terror-

ists and handed them over to the police. Later on the

police claimed that they had captured two terrorists

which was totally wrong and based on false claims that

the police arrived at the mosques in good time. In fact,

the media reported that the police arrived one hour

after the attack started and many of our brothers were

already shot dead and people were struggling to save

their lives.

I salute and pray for our 86 martyrs who gave their

lives for the sake of their faith and Islam and proved

their pledge true by offering

their blood and lives. I also

pray for the complete recovery

of our injured brothers who

are more than 120 and some

are still in hospital. PROMISED MESSIAH’S (as) ANALYSIS OF THE ROOT CAUSE

OF VIOLENCE IN MULLAHS

―A very detrimental belief that is profoundly hurting the spirituality in Islam is that the

Mullahs are awaiting a bloody Mahdi who will soon after his appearance submerge the

world into violence and bloodshed. These are the signs that they subscribe for their

imaginary Messiah also that as soon as he descends from the heaven that he will start

killing the non-believers, and only those will be saved who will become Muslim. Men

with such beliefs can never be sincere with others; even travelling alone with such be-

lievers is risky business, lest they should kill you thinking that you are a nonbeliever,

while they are in total denial of their own disbelief! Always remember that to call these

absurd ideas as root of Islam and attribute them to the Holy Quran is preposterous. This

is only giving opportunity to the adversaries of Islam to ridicule it and nothing else. San-

ity cannot recommend that a reformer without convincing others starts killing them or

that whatever government he lives under he conspires against her. It seems that the

conscience of such people are deranged and the instinct of human kindness in them has

died out.‖

Brief biography about some of the martyrs of Lahore

Summary of the Friday Sermon - 11th June 2010

Delivered by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba)

The Monthly Gazette of Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya Glasgow UK

Munir Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Sahib Lahore District Extremely able Judge in various departments of Pakistan Government. He was modest, hard working and most honest. He was fearless, fair, knowledgeable, decisive, empathetic, kind, down to earth leader. He believed that Martyrdom was the sure way to Paradise. He showed leadership even after being shot, he advised worshippers to say Darood. His last words were Kalima Shahadah.

Major General Nasir Chaudhary He and his family served Ahmadiyyat in many capacities. He was President of Halqa Model Town. He was shot in the 1971 war in the knee and made a miraculous recovery and was able to walk again. He was a Moosi since 1943. He led worshippers to safety and stayed outside the Mosque resisting the attackers. He was martyred while in the position of prostration.

Aslam Bharwana He was a Mechanical Engineer, Grade 20 officer in the Pakistan Railway. He was on duty in the Mosque when martyred. He led others to the safety of the basement. He was brave and always openly declared his Ahmadiyyat. He refused to move from the first row in a meeting where General Zial ul Huq was present, he was wearing Kalima badge on his chest at the time when the anti-Ahmadi campaign was strong. Before his martyrdom a relative had heard a voice in her dream saying ‗ be ready to chose your martyrs‘.

Ashraf Bilal He made many great financial sacrifices. He made a large contribution to the Mosque in Shalamar Town. He served the Jama‘at in many capacities. Before his martyrdom, he left clear instructions for his wife. He gave financial help to others, made a free dispensary for the poor, and helped many poor people regularly. His adopted son was also martyred by the terrorists.

Syedna Bilal Fund Many of us have a desire to contribute financially towards the victims of the La-hore attacks. Many have even written to Huzur (atba) requesting guidance in this regard. Huzur (atba) in his Friday Sermon of June 11, 2010 commented on this and reminded the members about the Syedna Bilal Fund. This fund was initiated by Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IV (ru) in 1986. He said "I want to reassure the Jama‘at that in Jama‘at Ahmadiyya anyone who is killed in the cause of Allah never leaves this world wondering that what would happen to my wife and children. In Jama‘at Ahmadiyya, children of such people do not turn into orphans. This is a living Jama‘at and it is impossible that this Jama‘at forgets the rights of the families of those who offer such sacrifice." We encourage everyone to take part in this noble fund. Please send funds directly to your local Jama’at finance secretary (chief editor)

Captain Mirza Naeemuddin He was held in very high regard, was brave and fearless. During the attack, he saved people using his army training. He was blessed with 5 daughters and celebrated the birth of each daughter saying this is Allah‘s blessing. When he was shot, he called his daughter to instruct her to look after her mother. His son Hamid Naeem is injured, Huzur (atba) prayed for his complete recovery, Ameen. Huzur (atba) prayed may Allah elevate his status. Ameen
