With the purpose to instill sportsman spirit among students and to enhance their physical and social skills, an Annual Sports Meet 2017 was organized on 29th January 2017 at Chhatrasal Stadium, Model Town, Delhi. The occasion was graced by Mr. Sushil Kumar, Olympic Champion.

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were – Mr. Ram Kailash Gupta – Chairman, Tecnia Group of Institutions; Mrs. Kusum Gupta – President, Handicapped Woman Welfare Association; Mr. P. Anand Rao – District Social Welfare Officer, Department of Social Welfare; Sh. J.C. Gupta – Assistant Director (Rtd.), North Regional Centre of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech and Hearing (Divyangjan), Delhi; Dr. Anmol Arora – Medical Director, Ashtavakra Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences and Research, Rohini, Delhi; Ms. Meenu Jain – Principal, The Ashtavakra School; Mrs. Shalu Rathore – Director, Tecnia Institute of Applied Studies; Dr. Ajay Rathore – Director, Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies; Mrs. Madhu Aggarwal, Director, Tecnia Institute of Art and Design; Mrs. Neeta Kohli – Principal, Tecnia International School; Mrs. Saraswati – Director, Tecnia Institute of Teacher Education and other members of Tecnia Group of Institutions.

The Chief Guest welcomed the esteemed gathering and emphasised on the importance of sports in an individual's life. In his address, he also applauded Dr. Anmol Arora, and his team for setting a land mark in history of Tecnia Group of Institutions.

Marking the commencement of the grand event, the Chief Guest was welcomed by the beautiful welcome song sung by students of Ashtavakra Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences and Research, Delhi.

The showcased blend of the Zumba dance and exercises by Mr. Ronnie and his team enlivened and invigorated everyone’s spirits.

The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guests followed by the Torch Run.

The oath was administered by Mr. J.C.Gupta, Assistant Director (Rtd.), North Regional Centre of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech and Hearing (Divyangjan), Delhi after which, the chief guest declared Annual Sports Meet 2017 open by flying of tricolor Balloons..

Up next was the March Past in which each group of respective institutes made the formation of minimum 60 students headed by one captain along with respective coordinator.

The day was filled with exciting victories and near misses for all participants. The event also included a number of races such as 100 mtr, 200 mtr races, 4×100 mtr and mix relay for different categories, long jump, tug of war, etc.

Then, some fabulous performances were shown by the students of Tecnia Group of Institutions. The girls in their colorful attires regaled one and fascinated all with their graceful moves which were a feast to the eyes.

The sports meet concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anmol Arora, Medical Director, Ashtavakra Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences and Research and the lowering of the flag by the Chief Guest.

Mrs. Neeta Kohli, Principal, Tecnia International School, congratulated the winners and honored them with awards and certificates. The Sports Meet was declared close by the chief guest.
