The Mind and Body What influences our behavioursThe 8 th Annual Vancouver Island Safety Conference Vancouver Island Conference Centre, October 5, 2013 Join us in exploring what influences our actions and behaviors at Work and at Home. This year’s conference addresses how woodlands and wood products manufacturing operations can improve how they prepare for a safe and productive day! Available again this year is a video conference option with attendance in Port McNeill for North Island delegates unable to make the trip to Nanaimo. Conference highlights will include a presentation from Pat Burns, Dr Art Hister, Rob Fontaine and a panel of speakers discussing life lessons learned and to help better understand fatigue and personal health at home and the workplace. Discussions are underway for keynote addresses made by government and coastal CEOs (TBA). The conference steering committee is made up of representatives from Labour, Industry, the BC Forest Safety Council and WorkSafeBC (see participants listed on sidebar at left) and sponsorships from industry allow for free admission for delegates. There will be a trade show with targeted safety products and services for conference attendees. Refreshments and lunch are provided.
