FOREWORD

Military exercises of the US Army and US Marine Corps are the subject of this* bibliography. Emphasis is on the ground maneuver, the field artillery, and activities 2

since WWII. According to JCS PUB #1, dated 1 April 1984, the exercise is defined, as;

"A military maneuver oi simulated vartime operation involving planning,preparation, and execution. It is carried out for the purpose of train- ,. .

*" Ing and evaluation. It may be a combined, joint, or single-serviceexercise, depending on participating organizations."
