Welcome, to the Mile:

First off, thank you for considering an ad buy on our new radio station! Before we begin, let us tell you a little bit about our unique name. The “Mile” is a wildly popular and challenging out of bounds ski run between the top of Vail Mountain and the Village of Minturn below.

Since our tower is up in the same peaks and our studio is in Minturn, it made prefect sense to name our new radio station after this strip of paradise. The music you hear on the Mile is as unique as our name. It’s a blend of Adult Album Alternative and Classic Hits with new music like Adele, John Mayer & Sarah McLachlan, blended with classics from The Cure, Indigo Girls & Squeeze.

Combine this great music with thoughtful, insightful and sometimes funny spoken word elements, and that’s the Mile.

MileStones with Pete MacKay:

Several times throughout each day Pete takes our listeners on a historical look into both pop culture and music history. These features typically run between 2-3 minutes and are easily customized to feature a sponsor or event. Pete MacKay knows his stuff. Pete has been a fixture in Colorado rock radio for three decades (including KBPI, the Peak and most recently the Mountain).

MilePosts with Paul Reinertson:

Paul is the Mile’s official Vail historian. Paul takes our listeners deep into the history of the Vail Valley. You’d be surprised to learn what Paul has discovered for our listeners; including some very interesting facts about life in Colorado. Paul is a veteran of the ABC Radio Network and KMGH-TV. He has spent his entire 30-year news career in Colorado.

MileSmiles:

Life in Colorado has a defined playful side and this feature is designed to provide a little levity and bring a smile to our listeners. We have over 1,000 MileSmiles in our funny vault to keep a grin and add a chuckle to every day on the Mile.

KKVM-FM (104.7 MHz) Vail, Colorado: All of these special features are powered by the single strongest FM radio signal in the Rocky Mountains. The Mile is broadcast in digital high quality audio, from our state of the art studios in Minturn, with 95,000 watts behind every song and feature.
