4. …it returns the onus of proof to them, if they have criticised

5. …it is non-threatening – you can even disagree without

ever disagreeing

6. …it can cause them to reevaluate their beliefs

Example 1: I don’t want to be a Christian because the Church is full of hypocrites Sour note / Truth to consider: 1. The merits of product are not determined by the merits of the representative.2. Its an unfair criticism of Christianity without consideration to the alternatives.






Example 1: I don’t want to be a Christian because the Church is full of hypocrites Possible questions:1. What do you mean hypocrite, for isn’t it true that none of us live up to our ideals? 2. Have you never done anything contrary to your belief? Have you never fallen short of your own expectations of yourself?3. What happened? I’m so sorry to hear that!






Example 2: I don’t believe in hell






Example 2: I don’t believe in hell Sour note / Truth to consider:1. The Bible clearly says hell exists 2. As an emotional statement, it could be a struggle to accept the perceived severity of God’s judgement






Example 2: I don’t believe in hell Possible questions:1. Why not?2. Do you believe the Bible is true?3. Do you believe what we do in life has repercussions in the afterlife? 4. Do you believe there is a God?






Example 3: How can a loving God send people to hell?







Sour note / Truth to consider:1. Its an issue of God’s goodness and justice, not His love2. God clearly loves us – consider the price Jesus paid because of love! God wants us all in heaven (2 Peter 3:9)!







Possible questions:1. Why do you ask that? 2. If you were God, would you let everyone into heaven? Rapists included?3. If not, where do you draw the line? What is the standard…?






“…comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

2 Corinthians 1:4

God does not work without purpose in our lives,

Nor in the lives of non-Christians!
