From Lakan...

We, as a church, have a spe-cial role we can play in the life of the college students that are part of this church by investing in them on a personal level during their time here. One way you can do this is through adopting one or more of our students this se-mester. Adopting a student would mean you would be willing to do the following: At least once a month

feed your student (either in your home or take them out with you/your family)

Perhaps opening up your home for them to do laundry

Involving them in family activities (movies, game nights, etc.)

Inviting them to sit with you on Sunday mornings

Doing something special for them around testing times

Check up on them during the week with a call, text or email.

In general, the idea is to be willing to be involved in their lives over the course of this semester. If you are willing, or you have questions, please call me at 325-227-1778.

Ryan Connel

Life Fair. Insurance, health care costs, grocery bills-- we all have seen how they just keep going up. During our Life Fair on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 2-4 pm, in the Fellowship Hall, you will get important infor-mation that might help ease some of these problems. In-formation on Christian Medi-Share, a Christian co-op (that functions like health insur-ance); supplemental insur-ance; diabetes; healthy eating on a budget; and, discount on prescriptions. Also bring clothing you no longer need for our Clothing Exchange & Give-A-Way! Come check it out!

Office Computer Update Our office computer that went “haywire” on Jan. 11th has been worked on by several different techs. We have good news and bad news. The good news is that we have been able to restore the vast majority of the membership data and contribution re-cords. Praise the Lord! The bad news is that I will have to com-pile and reenter all the data beginning with 11-30-2009 up until now. So please continue to be patient and if you will need your 2011 Contribution Receipt in the next few weeks, please let me know now and I will get them to you as soon as possible. If you have begun attending or have joined since that 11-30-2009 date, it would help if you would either call or email that infor-mation to me. Then I can input all the data. Again, thanks so

much for your patience and understanding. Cindy Hickey

$11000.00 Given to Date: $6745.00

On the last Sunday of each month we receive the Lord’s supper. On that Sunday we will also ask for donations to our Agape Ministries. These ministries give us the oppor-tunity to help those in need.

With your help, we can provide food boxes as well as supplying needed clothing, and help in other areas.

Please bring canned and/or non-perishable items with you as you come to worship with us Sunday, February 26th. There will be a box in the foyer where you may place your items.

You may also give a special offering to these ministries by placing it in the offering plate marked Agape.

Of course you are welcome to bring canned goods/non-perishables by the church office anytime!

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18
