AREA GUIDE LOCAL AREA INTRODUCTION
Preveza is perfectly situated at the entrance to the inland gulf of Ambrakikos, midway
down the island chain for convenient access to the best of the Ionian, whether you choose
an itinerary to the north or the south.
Long regarded as a sailor’s paradise, the Ionian delights visitors with consistent sunshine,
reliable winds, plentiful anchorages, friendly locals and stunning scenery. Enjoy easy
walks through sun-dappled olive groves, snorkel in warm clear waters and immerse
yourself in the ancient civilizations and cultures of Greece.
Day Time

Sunday CLOSED
The fertile islands of the Ionian sea are covered in forests of pine and cypress, alongside
fields of wildflowers, in contrast to the barren mountainous terrain of mainland Greece.
The architecture found in the region is also unique, featuring red-tiled houses in mostly
Italian and French styles.
To sail Preveza you will need a sailing license that is recognized by the local port
authorities, or you can hire a local skipper to sail for you.
TOP THINGS TO DO IN PREVEZA:
1. Dine on seafood at Sivota
One of the best things to do in Preveza, is sail to the charming little village of Sivota,
boasting white cliffs and sandy beaches. Evenings bring a more lively crowd as
sailboats arrive to enjoy the famed seafood at the many tavernas. One of the
largest natural coves in the Ionian island chain is located here, providing excellent
shelter.
2. Visit beautiful Sami
Sail to the beautiful coastal town of Sami on the island of Kefalonia – a favorite of
many yachters. The waterfront is lined with tavernas serving fresh fish and wine
that was grown and bottled on the island.
3. Sail to Ithaca
Home to the Greek legend of Odysseus, the magical island of Ithaca is loved for its
ancient ruins, breathtaking harbors and wonderful wilderness walking trails.
4. Soak up the sun on Milos Beach
Milos Beach on the island of Lefkas is popular for sunbathing and swimming, but
the serene walk through the forest to reach the beach from Agios Nikitas is just as
delightful. There are no facilities here, so be sure to bring along your own
refreshments.
5. Hike to the Nidri Waterfalls
While on the island of Lefkas, a scenic walk to the Nidri waterfalls is a must-do.
Stroll through beautiful olive groves to a footpath leading to the sparkling falls. Be
