How do you and your family remember a dead loved ones?
How did Mr. Angeles remember his dead children?
Banig or brown mat is a traditional hand woven mat commonly used for sleeping. Banig weaving is a genuine treasure handed down as a tradition or a trade from one generation to another as it is widely practiced in the country. Its ingenuity is very much employed in its creation and the designs may vary from the practices of those from other regions.
Francisco "Franz"[1] Arcellana (September 6, 1916 – August 1, 2002)
A Filipino writer, poet, essayist, critic, journalist and teacher. He was born on September 20, 1916. Arcellana already had ambitions of becoming a writer during his years in the elementary. His actual writing, however, started when he became a member of The Torres Torch Organization during his high school years. Arcellana continued writing in various school papers at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He later on received a Rockfeller Grant and became a fellow in creative writing the University of Iowa and Bread loaf's writers conference from 1956- 1957.
