PROBLEM

• The main issue that we are trying to fix is the Thompson running track and the soccer field.

• Our track has long cracks in it and many bumps from the rocks underneath it.

• The soccer field that we have now is torn up from shrubs which also contributes to the issues with the track.

HOW SERIOUS IS THE PROBLEM?

• With the cracks and bumps in the track and torn up field, it is more likely that athletes or town citizens using these facilities could injure themselves.

• For home track meets, our track team would have to go to another town to use their track.

WHO SHOWS INTEREST IN THIS PROBLEM?

• People who show the most interest in this problem are students at our school and parents. All students use the track for the mile run in gym class.

• Most athletes such as soccer players and track runners would appreciate this problem being taken care of. Family members would no longer have to worry about athletes coming home with injuries.

STANCES ON THE PROBLEM

• Some people may be against fixing the track and field again due to the cost and recent budget cuts.

• However others want this to get done to decrease injury risk. Also, looking for sponsors and asking citizens of Thompson for small amounts of money will help make this happen.
