Hello,
It was not just a weekend full of fun and laughter at RYLA
but also a life changing experience. My biggest fear was
the robe route, which was higher than it seemed from the
ground. I was happy about all the mentally support I got. I
already miss all my friends I made and wish I could’ve
stayed longer even when our cabin wasn’t what I would
call a 4 star hotel.
After my total 3 hours sleep this weekend I was full of en-
ergy for the district International Night on Monday. The
highlight wasn’t just all the awesome speeches from all
exchange students but also a chocolate fountain.
Our musical is finally coming together and the weather for
sailing is perfect. This weekend I enjoyed the wonderful
sun over Cape Cod and ate strawberry cheesecake ice
cream at my first trip to Friendly’s Your Exchange Student

No sleep and not being at RYLA anymore makes Matthew go something something. . . I've had an amazing week. Friday afternoon I arrived at the camps in Brewster, not really knowing what to expect from it. 52 hours later, and with 6 or so hours of sleep, these people where my family. I laughed with my orange family, cried with my orange family, worked hard, overcome challenges and best of all, ate good food with my orange family. This being the internet linked generation, I came home to 28 Fa-cebook friend requests and another 50 or so followed in the fol-lowing days, as RYLA'ians all linked in together. Monday evening was the 20th District 7950 International Night, and I met more of the wonderful people that help with this amazing program. We long-term Inbounds rocked our blazers, and the short term / long-term outbound looked enviously on at our collection of pins (And random trash). I was happy to speak and represent not only the Rotary club of Bungendore Australia, but my amazing host club of Yarmouth.
Cheers, Matt (Oggman)
