The Midwestern Region thanks the International Grand Basileus, the National Executive Board, my Sister

Regional Directors, and the entire sisterhood for making Zeta Day in Hannibal, Missouri – Celebrating the Life

and Legacy of President Emeritus and Founder Arizona Cleaver Stemons and Hannibal 2.0 a success!!

The project began as an idea in 2008 and a realization in 2015 and 2016 with the support of Grand Wright and

the Arizona Cleaver Stemons Planning Team, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, has returned home to

Hannibal, Missouri permanently.

The Midwestern Region of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated coordinated all donations to provide the City of

Hannibal, Missouri, on the Douglass School grounds were Founder Stemons graduated and taught before

relocating to Philadelphia, with a Historical marker commemorating her legacy in Hannibal, a storyboard to tell

the story of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, a picnic pavilion in the park renamed for our legacy “Douglass School/Arizona

Cleaver Stemons Park”.

A big THANK YOU to the ACS Project Director, Soror Antoinette Gordon, Past National Trustee and 18th

Midwestern Regional Director, National Second Anti-Basileus Soror Bibliana Bovery, National Historian Soror

Midwestern Region Overview

2015

• Attended State meeting in the states of Colorado/Wyoming (Denver), Kansas (Wichita), Nebraska

(Omaha), Missouri (St, Louis), and Oklahoma (Bethany).

• Hosted Chapter Basileus luncheon for the State of Iowa.

• Served on the National Personnel Committee for National Headquarters.

• In 2015 the Midwestern Region grew to 637 members, which is the largest membership in the Midwestern

Regions history.

• The 73rd Midwestern Regional Conference had the largest attendance for the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.-

Midwestern Region and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.-Southwest Region in history.

• Held first Amicae Centennial celebration at the 73rd Midwestern Regional Conference.

• Attended Great Lakes Regional Conference in Chicago, IL to promote the Zeta Day in Hannibal.

• Attended the Southern Regional Conference Baton Rouge, LA to promote the Zeta Day in Hannibal.

• Held Zeta Day in Hannibal: Honoring Founder and President Emeritus Arizona Cleaver Stemons, in

which, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated received the key to the City of Hannibal, August 2015. Over

100 Sorors from around the Nation attended. Historical marker dedicated in President Emeritus and

Founder Arizona Cleaver Stemons, International Grand Basileus Mary B. Wright received the Key to the

City, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was included in the Hannibal Arts Council “What does freedom looks

like” exhibit.

• Attended the Atlantic Regional Conference and Headstone unveiling for President Emeritus and Founder

Arizona Cleaver Stemons. As a part of the “Cradle to Grave Memorial” for Founder Stemons.

• Hosted Regional Zeta Youth certification training in Kansas City, MO.

• Alpha Lambda chapter, Langston University, had the largest undergraduate intake with 14 new

members, 2015.

• Attended Dred Scott Award ceremony honoring the International Grand Basileus Mary B. Wright in St.

Louis, MO.

• Presented HIV 101 at Black Butterfly Event for Lupus held in conjunction with Upsilon Zeta Zeta chapter.

• Conducted MIP for chapters in Missouri and Kansas.

2016

• Served on the National Personnel Committee for National Headquarters.

• 74th Regional Conference – Hannibal 2.0 Park dedication in honor of President Emeritus and Founder

Arizona Cleaver Stemons. The entire delegation of the conference went to the City of Hannibal for the

Hannibal 2.0 celebration.

• Hannibal 2.0 - Hosted the ribbon-cutting for the newly renamed “Douglass School/Arizona Cleaver

Stemon Park” with a ribbon cutting, the Midwestern region presented awards, dedicated donated

pavilion, and storyboard.

• Conducted attend Undergraduate Advisor training for Chi Delta Zeta chapter, Iowa City, IA.

• Roles and responsibilities training with Pi Kappa chapter and Chi Delta Zeta Chapter, Iowa City, IA.

• Conducted chapter management training for Psi Eta Zeta Chapter, Cape Girardeau, MO.

• A new Stork's Nest open in Guthrie, Oklahoma sponsored Beta Phi Zeta chapter.

• Reactivated Stork’s nest in Wichita, Kansas sponsored by Sigma Zeta Chapter.

• Iowa Stork’s Nest sponsored by Nu Mu Zeta chapter received special baby bottle donation made possible

by The March of Dimes and Avent Phillips.

• Chartered new Amicae Auxiliary in Midwest City, OK.

• Hosted State-wide certification and training for the State of Iowa.

• Invited to be the Keynote speaker at the 2016 Greater Kansas City joint Zeta-Sigma Founder’s Day

luncheon.

Held Statewide MIP, Youth, and Undergraduate training for the State of Iowa.

• Presented Safe dating and safe sex at Black Butterfly Event held in conjunction with Upsilon Zeta Zeta

chapter.

• Conducted MIP for the states of Missouri and Kansas.
