THE FOUR-WAY TEST Is it the TRUTH? Is it Fair to all concerned? Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY The OBJECT of ROTARY is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster: FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service. SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions, the recogni-tion of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and dignifying of each Ro-tarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society. THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life. FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

DECLARATIONS OF ROTARINS IN BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS

As a Rotarian engaged in business or profession I am expected to:

1. CONSIDER my vocation to be another opportunity to serve.

2. BE FAITHFUL to the letter and the spirit of the ethical codes

of my vocation, to the laws of my country, and to the moral

standards of my community.

Thank you, Father,

for the gift of Rotary and each other.

we give thanks for the pleasure of gathering

together for this occasion.

We give thanks for this food prepared

by loving hands.

We give thanks for life, the freedom to enjoy it all,

and all other blessings.

As we partake of this food, we pray for health and

strength to carry on and try to live as You would have

us. This we ask in the name of Christ, Our Heavenly

Father.

Amen.

Hello all and welcome to meeting.

I join this meeting after attending the district mid-year review, where

we were top ten in attendance statistics. Congratulations to all our

regular club members who have supported the club through atten-

dance, district participation, and project presence and support. Con-

gratulations also go out to PE John Lam, who attended his first official

function as our PE during the multi-district PETS at the Philippine

International Convention Center. Special thanks to Dir. Josh who kept

me company during the mid-year review, and to PP Nap Co, who

checked in to see how things were going. We are well on our way to

receiving the RI Presidential citation for our club!

These past weeks, our club has focused on our primary goal, which is service. PP Albert, PE

John, and myself have been busy putting together the finishing touches for of MPNAG Kitchen

project. The inauguration of our center is scheduled for February 27 with our sister club RC

Kowloon Golden Mile already confirming attendance. Our partner, the Mandaluyong Red

Cross, has just finished the train-the-trainer seminars for our DRAP Global Grant, and Baran-

gays Highway Hills, Addition Hills, and Mauway, are beginning the first part of their training

on February 16. RC ManPaSan has been diligently checking on our sponsored recipients for the

“YamanSaJardin” project, while PP Herman has been busy attending to the mid-year reviews

of our RAC and IAC clubs.

As part of our service and through the initiative of PDG Tony, we are turning-over some books

which have been converted into braille format. BCP RosarieVillasor of RC San Juan Central is

on-hand to receive them; as you may be aware, BCP (and CP) Rosarie is a specialized SPED

instructor and is well connected with the special needs community. On-had too is one of our

LAD scholars, Mr. Daniel C. Tingkoy, who has completed his B.S. in Electronics and Commu-

nications Engineering from Don Bosco Mandaluyong.

Amidst all this, we continue in fellowship. Sp. Maan and the spouses committee have organ-

ized our Chinese New Year Celebration on February 20th; the district valentine’s party is to-

night, and PALAROTARY is on the 15th.

With these in mind, we do have a lot going on as we strive to “LIGHT UP ROTARY” in the

final stretch of this Rotary year. Do keep in step by checking http://bit.ly/rcmanda for our face-

book page, http://bit.ly/rcmcalendar for our calendar, or http://bit.ly/rcmmag for our Magdalo

issues.

Cheers!

Happy Hearts A warm greeting to my fellow Rotarians! We also wel-come our guests, BCP Rosarie Villasor of RC San Juan Central and Daniel Tingcoy, LAD Scholar. We are back in EDSA Shangrila today after meeting at Conti's the last time. If you are coming back from a

trip or from a long break, we welcome you back. Tomorrow is Valentine's day so I hope you made arrangements to take your spouses out. If not, you can stay in and cook her favorite dish which is what I plan to do to avoid the traffic. A reminder that on Friday, 20 February 2015 at 7 PM is our Chinese New Year Celebration. Venue is at UNO Seafood Restaurant in Greenhills along Annapolis. Thanks to Spouse Maan Lam and the Spouses Committee for taking care of all the coordination and ar-rangements. DISCON is next month at the Manila Hotel on 20-21 March. Hope you made arrangements to attend as this is the big event for our home Dis-trict 3800. In case you plan to attend Rotary International Convention in Sao Paulo, dates are 6 June to 9 June 2015. Mark your calendars and make the necessary arrangements. That is all for now. We will keep you posted on any new and upcoming events in our Rotary calendar.

Good afternoon, fellow Rotarians.

Before anything else, aside from Happy Valentine, I

would like to greet everyone a wonderful Chinese

new year as well.

Our club will be welcoming the Year of the Sheep

with our annual Chinese New Year Dinner to be held on 02/20/15 at

UNO Seafood Restaurant in Annapolis Street, Greenhills.

Aside from the special ala carte menu for the New Year, it will be our

celebrants’ night as well for those of us with birthdays in December,

January and February.

All is set for the final turnover of our culinary classroom to the school

administration of MPNAG on 02/27/15. Everybody is welcome to join

us in this meaningful event, with representatives from our foreign sister

clubs arriving to grace this particular turnover ceremony.

This is one good example of how your contribution to our club is put-

ting into good use. It is hoped that all of us will continue to support all

upcoming activities of our club by updating their accounts with us.

Those who want to contribute more can contact the undersigned di-

rectly so that I can arrange proper acknowledgement.

As the upcoming Rotary theme states: “Be a gift to the world”. I have

no doubt by joining Rotary; we Rotarians have already begin our jour-

ney of selfless giving to those in need. Please help us by making this

journey more enjoyable and more meaningful.

Before I sum up all my experience in the historic island

of Corregidor, first I just want to thank our clubs, the

Rotaract Club of RTU College of Education, sponsor-

ing Rotary Club of Mandaluyong for choosing me as a

participant for the said event. Is a great opportunity for

me to attend a leadership training in the Rotary way. I

gain new friends; also it will help me, as a future His-

tory major teacher, for teaching Philippine History be-

cause as we all know, Corregidor Island is the last

stand of the USAFFE or the United States Armed Forces in the Far

East, in Asia. and the island have a great contribution to our country's

history. Moreover, I can say that my leadership skills are improve be-

cause of the speakers in the event like our Best Class District Governor

Marilou Co that shares her 5 Timeless Principle that will help us, lead-

ers, to be more effective not just on our clubs, but also to our school,

community, nation and to the world. It was a great experience for me

that I will treasure and never forget all my what I’ve learned in the

event. Thank you so much RC Mandaluyong :)

TIE A YELLOW RIBBON

I'm comin' home, I've done my time

Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine

If you received my letter tellin' you I'd soon be free

Then you'll know just what to do if you still want me

If you still want me

CHORUS:

Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree

It's been three long years

Do you still want me?

If I don't see a ribbon round the old oak tree

I'll stay on the bus

Forget about us

Put the blame on me

If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree

Bus driver, please look for me

'Cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see

I'm really still in prison, and my love she holds the key

A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free

I wrote and told her this:

REPEAT CHORUS

Now the whole damn bus is cheering

And I can't believe I see

A hundred yellow ribbons 'round the old oak tree

I'm comin' home
