Profession of Faith: (Nicene Creed)

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, one in Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

LOCAL BISHOP CALL UPDATE

LOC BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

If you would like to join our team of Home Eucharistic Ministers, please see Fr. Teri. She arranges a schedule each month so that we can share Communion with members of our community who cannot get to Mass for a period of time for whatever reason. There is training & prayer materi-als available, as well as a quarterly team meeting for support & learning together. This ministry focus-es on companionship & connection through Com-munion.

HOME EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

The announcement was made last month that the process for calling a local bishop was put on a tempo-rary hold. After Light of Christ & the other communities expressed their concerns at last week’s Re-

gional Council meeting, it was determined to move ahead slowly. The Polity Team drafting a regional constitution & the Call Team developing a Bishop Call were directed to meet & work together, with input from the Regional Council & from the five Colorado communities, to present a unified pack-age by February 6th. Each community will then be asked to affirm the result, & if four of the five affirm, a call for a bishop will go out and nominations will be accepted. The current drafts of the documents meet most of the concerns we have heard. We will give further updates as progress is made. If you have any questions, please talk to Fr. Teri or Jack Wolfe, our Regional Council representatives.

Please stop by the table in the Narthex after Mass sometime over the next few weeks to update your information from the OLD 2017 LOC Directory pages. We will put out what we have and we need you to okay the current listing by placing a check mark by it or, if your information has changed, you need to update it. If you have registered after 2017, the Church Office has your information, but if that has changed since then, you will need to either fill out a form or simply call the office. All are welcome to have your contact information included if you wish to do so! We will continue to take changes through the month of December. Take a minute and okay your old entry or make any changes. If you have any questions, please call the Church Office at 303/772-3785.

Like to read? Join the Light of Christ Book Group on Wednesday, January 8th at 7:00pm in the LOC office to discuss Ann Patchett's novel Commonwealth. This book considers how a kiss from an uninvited party guest sets in motion two divorces, a marriage and how six children get bound into a fierce little tribe. This is a family saga with some major twists. If you would like to learn more about the LOC Book Group, please contact Marlene Rogers at 970/663-4465 or merely sign out a book from the book bag located in the church office and join us on January 8th. All are welcome!

If you have a family member or know a member of our community who is unable to attend Mass for a period of time for whatever reason, our Home Eucharistic Ministers

would welcome the opportunity to visit them, pray with them, and bring Communion to their home. Our goal is to visit each person once a month, with a phone call to check in and arrange the appropriate time for a visit. This ministry is an extension of the Mass that we all celebrate here at Light of Christ, and we want to share that experi-ence of community with those who cannot get to Mass. We have a team of Home Eucharistic Minis-ters available, just call the church office to arrange a visit. Fr. Teri is also available for home visits bringing Communion, pastoral care, prayer, and anointing. Again, speak to her directly or call the church office to arrange a visit.

God sees and knows.
