3. Overview
The Lorax was published in 1971 by Dr. Seuss (a.k.a. Theodor Seuss Geisel). The story begins with the Once-ler arriving in a new and beautiful land, which he soon takes over as he creates and markets the Thneed, a thing everyone needs, from the natural resource known as the Truffla Tree. The Once-lersindustrious and greedy ways soon leads to the loss of Truffula Trees and wide-spread pollution forcing native creatures from their habitats.Ignoring the warnings by the Lorax, a creature that speaks for the trees, the Once-ler is soon left with total destruction and only one seed from the final Truffula Tree.
