The Local Enterprise Office Tipperary is the First Stop Shop for anyone seeking
information and support on starting or growing a business in Tipperary.
An initiative of the Action Plan for Jobs, Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) are committed to delivering an
enhanced and more integrated support service for the micro and small business sector in Ireland. Local
Enterprise Office Tipperary offers a range of complementary supports to potential entrepreneurs and
existing businesses. The supports include a first point of contact for all enterprise-related enquiries in
Tipperary where individuals can receive advice on the steps involved in setting up a business, to the
provision of grants for feasibility studies, financial support for new and existing businesses and a range of
soft supports such as enterprise training, management development and mentoring to entrepreneurs and
businesses.

This course takes place over 4 Thursday evenings and covers the knowledge of financial affairs needed by every
entrepreneur to manage their business and to communicate their plans and results to outsiders. The programme is
designed for participants who want to learn how to keep proper records. These sessions will be practical and interactive
and will provide an introduction to the basics of bookkeeping for the small business owner and will outline suggested
approaches to ensuring that small businesses can track and manage costs, revenues and profits.

Trading Online Voucher Scheme Information Seminar
(in conjunction with Chambers of Commerce)
The Trading Online Voucher Scheme offers small businesses and retailers the opportunity to apply for 50%
match funding to a maximum value of €2,500 to develop and enhance their online trading presence. This
free training seminar is the first step in applying for the Trading Online Voucher.
Participants will learn how to make a successful application to the scheme and how best to use and get
value from the voucher to support their online trading proposition. The seminar will also prove useful free
and cost effective tips on how to leverage your website by better integration of your social media platforms
and use of Google Tools.

LEAN For MICRO
Lean tools and techniques are helping companies across the globe to address competitiveness issues
within their businesses, building the capability of their people to identify issues and improve their
operations.
Lean is about being effective and efficient - doing things quicker, better, cheaper together. Lean
Strives to stamp out waste and to continually improve performance.
Lean for Micro is designed to encourage existing firms adopt Lean business principles in their organisations
to increase competitiveness.
The Lean programme involves a short in-company assignment by an external ‘Lean’ consultant who
will introduce Lean principles and complete a specific cost reduction project.
The programme will commence with a diagnostic of current practice and performance. Key
performance indicators will be established to achieve targeted business improvement measures based on
a set of Lean tools and methodologies tailored to suit each client’s situation.
Lean for Micro is available to eligible companies across a variety of sectors. The Programme will involve a
mix of workshops and on-site meetings. The programme is also ideal for firms trading with Northern
Ireland or the UK who wish to review their cost base and margins ahead of BREXIT.
The programme is heavily subsidised with participants contributing €250 towards an overall cost of €2,950
per firm.

Network North Tipperary (affiliated to Network Ireland) Network North Tipperary holds monthly meetings featuring a guest speaker who addresses topics important to women in both their professional or personal development. Following the speaker there is a networking opportunity for members with guests from other branches frequently invited to attend. The Network is a forum for established women in business or fledgling entrepreneurs, or those starting out on their career path, to develop professional and social contacts. Network Ireland hosts an annual National Conference and Awards ceremony. Monthly meetings alternate between Nenagh and Thurles. Membership is for 12 months from the date of joining and a membership fee applies.
