Preparation for WorshipPlease prepare your heart for worship and silence your mobile devices .

Good morning and welcome to Second Presbyterian Church! Today, as the people of God, we have the privilege of coming to the table of our Savior together. From the Scriptures, we can infer three benefits of the Lord’s Supper: The first purpose of the Supper is to provide assurance of our salvation. The specific source of our encouragement is the body and blood of Christ (I Corinthians 11:29-30). We know that we are saved by putting our trust in the person and work of Christ, but the Lord’s Supper is more than a mere remembrance . Celebrating the Lord’s Supper helps our faith connect to the benefits Christ accomplished in His body, both in His life and death (I Corinthians 11:26) . Second, as we are connected more and more to the life of Christ, we actually become better worshipers . That is, the One who beholds God face-to-face helps us to see Him more and more (Colossians 3:1-4) . Finally, the measure of our increased obedience will be our growing love and service toward our brothers and sisters in Christ. The Lord’s Supper helps us to increasingly see and love Christ. If that is true, then, by definition, our love for His brothers will grow as well (I Corinthians 11:17-22) .Therefore, as we feast on the Word of God and at His table in this service of worship, may we with sincere hearts rejoice and praise the One who, in love, has reconciled us to God and to each other!

SHARING THE BREAD AND THE CUPDuring this time, we invite you to join in singing the hymns printed in bold below .

“Come to Me” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Dan ForrestMusic: Dan Forrest / Matthew 11:25, 28-29, II Corinthians 6:18, I John 3:1

Come. Come to Me, all you who labor, come to Me, and I will give you rest. Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and you will find rest for your souls.

Come, My child, learn My heart, for I am gentle and lowly .

See how great My love for you, that I have called you My child.

Come, come to Me . Oh, come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, And you will find rest for your souls.

“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .HAMBURG

Words: Isaac Watts / Music: Lowell Mason / Galatians 6:14

When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, save in the death of Christ my God: All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood.See, from His head, His hands, His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down: Did e’er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?

“Behold the Lamb” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Keith Getty, Stuart TownendWords and Music: Keith Getty and Stuart Townend / Ezekiel 44:16

Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away, Slain for us, and we remember The promise made that all who come in faith Find forgiveness at the cross. So, we share in this Bread of Life, and we drink of His sacrifice, As a sign of our bonds of peace around the table of the King. The body of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Torn for you; eat and remember The wounds that heal, the death that brings us life, Paid the price to make us one. So, we share in this Bread of Life, and we drink of His sacrifice, As a sign of our bonds of love around the table of the King. The blood that cleanses every stain of sin, Shed for you, drink and remember He drained death’s cup that all may enter in To receive the life of God. So, we share in this Bread of Life, and we drink of His sacrifice, As a sign of our bonds of grace around the table of the King.

Recently, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation took notice of Annoor and sent a delegation there to inspect the hospital . Afterward, they congratulated Aileen for the standard of care patients receive and the high recovery rate among patients who have multi-drug resistant TB. The visit ended with a significant donation of TB medications from the Foundation . Please pray for continued healing for the patients at Annoor, both medically and spiritually, and for continued strength for Aileen . Pray also for the staff at Annoor as some still need residency visas. Mission Memphis: Dr .
