One day, Mr. Fish called the little fish Red, Yellow and

Golden, to alert them of the dangers that surrounded them

when get out to play far from their house. He talked about

the fishermen casting their nets into the sea, the birds and

other animals, including cat, which are fed of fish.

- All goldfish are entitled to play, but stay away from

nets and the edge of the sea, because in these places is that

the danger lies – said Mr. Fish with eyes filled with tears.

Sometime later, Red asked for permission to his

parents to go to the house of a friend to play. After helping

her mother, he said goodbye and then he left joyfully. On

the way, he met some friends and greeted everyone

cheerfully. Minutes later, felt that something was holding

him.

No matter how hard he would try, he couldn't get rid of

it. Then he started yelling:

- Help! Please, somebody help me out here! – However,

nobody listened to him, because he was in a quiet place.

Upset, he began to cry.

The fisherman, on the other hand, when pulling the net,

was very happy when he saw that beauty bouncy goldfish and

was very careful not to hurt it. When he got home, he put it

in a glass full of water.

Red, scared, noted that he had lost the freedom and

that, perhaps, he would ever come back to swim in the

depths of the ocean. Very sad, he tears was rolling down.

At that time, when he realized the fate that had been

shot down over him, tried to be strong and stay calm,

because it would be pointless scream or struggle.

That same day, Red was transported very carefully to

another place.

After drive around for a time, the man finally stopped in

front of a big store. Red was afraid, because He didn’t

know what they were going to do with him.

When entering in the store, he noticed that the place

was ample and nice. There were some strange creatures

and very noisy; some were tweeting, some were meowing,

some other was barking and some others was eating

carrots without stopping. All were in large cages.

The little Red goldfish sensed that there would be your

captivity. He trembled at the thought.

The merchant was smiling, proud of his new purchase so

he put Red along with other goldfishes. The location,

although small, imitated the habitat of the sea. Everyone

looked at him with curiosity, but soon they became friends.

Red had already listened to some histories regarding

little goldfishes that were captured to serve of attraction

for the mankind. However, he has not ever imagined that one

day he would be in that situation.

Despite being well treated, he sighed remembering the

time when he swam in school, with friends, always up to some

antics somewhere at the bottom of the sea.

One day, a couple with three children came into the

shop. Duda, the eldest, was thrilled to watch that beautiful

red goldfish swam back and forth in the aquarium. The

parents, noting your interest bought it and gave as a gift to

his son.

Arriving at the new home, Red noticed a creature with a

kind face, equal what it had back in the store. Once in a

while, he would move, open his eyes, stretch and would go

back to sleep again. Now, more carefree, the little goldfish

kept swimming back and forth in your little captivity.

One day, Red listened to its new owners affectionately

call that stranger creature of my Kitten. So, thought:

- Ah! So this is the famous Mr. Cat. the dangerous fish-

eater.

the Cat, in turn, walked impatient, he could not wait

to be alone with the new inhabitant of the house. So as

not to arouse suspicion, pretended not notice his

presence.

Duda was delighted with his two pets, once the

cat and the little goldfish live in harmony.

In a beautiful Sunday morning after treating the cat

and the little goldfish, the family left to take a walk. First,

however, as a precaution, Duda put the tank high up and

jokingly told the cat to take good care of the little fella.

The Cat swung the tail, made pirouettes, wrapped

himself in the leg of the boy, laughing at his innocence. Then

he sat down and stayed there.

Red was concerned and swam nervously of a side for the

other without stopping. He seemed to sense that something

was going to happen. The Cat, scoundrel, pretend that he

wasn't seeing anything. However, he was delighted with the

nervousness of the little goldfish.

himself, licked himself, stretched out himself and then he

decided to terrify Red a little more:

- Little goldfish! Huu, huu! Now that we are alone,

prepare yourself that I'm going to catch you!

Little goldfish, although courageous, was worried,

thinking about a way to defend himself, case the frightful

enemy decided to attack him.

Little goldfish Red was tense. The things were becoming

very difficult, and he knew that it would be worse soon.

Little goldfish from red was almost white of terror, but he

would be brave, he would die fighting, he thought.

Little goldfish Red was quiet in one corner of the

aquarium and after a long while, he said:

- Please, Mr. Cat, behave yourself, and don’t make me

anything bad, huh! Think about what our owner said. He

trusts so much in you that even asked you to take care of

me, remember?

The Cat raised, arched over and licked his lips in a

frightful way. After that, knocking down some objects, he

climbed up to the bookshelf and in one blink of eyes, he was

up to the refrigerator, by the side of the aquarium.

Full of himself, the cat answered:

- Listen here, fool little goldfish, if I was honest, I

would not have the fame that I have. In addition, it is no use

doing the smart-ass, nor trying to convince me because I'm

going to catch you, yeah! And, when my owner arrives, I will

meow softly, wrap around his legs, look at him with

sweetness and everything will be settled.

Later, in agility proper of the felines, put one of his

foot inside of the aquarium. Red, fast as an arrow, in a

bravery act, gave one bite in his foot, almost taking off a

piece of it. The kitty, withdrew, scared.

After the shock, the cat put his foot inside the

aquarium again and, by accident, crash! He knocked down the

aquarium on the floor. The kitty almost died of shock!

Astonished, the Cat then realized the agility of his

adversary. For a few moments, he was immovable, observing

the little goldfish jumping and jumping, trying to save

himself.

After that, the combat started. Red was defended

himself jumping in the air, looking like an acrobat. The Cat

recognized his courage and admired him for it. It was a jump

here, another jump there, and the little goldfish always

succeed to slide of the claws of its persecutor.

When the Cat was almost catching the little goldfish

Duda and his family arrived. They all get shocked when they

saw the big mess. It had water and broken glass

everywhere.

36 37

Duda was very disappointed with the behavior of the

scoundrel cat. He caught the cat by his feet, taking it

outside of the house for some time. Meanwhile, the little

Red goldfish was dying. The help arrived in time and soon he

was put in a teeny aquarium.

Duda, shocked with what had happened and worried

about the security of little goldfish, asked his father to

return it to the sea.

38 39

Red was very moved when sighting the immense blue sea that was waiting for him. When being put inside the water, without delay he disappeared, going to find again his family and all his friends. The place where he lived, was all joy. The fishes had given a big party to celebrate his return.

Red was received as a hero. Its odyssey all had great

repercussion in the ocean. Even the king of the seas received him in solemn hearing. In his few moments of solitude, little Red fish remembered the great adventure that he lived in the land in the middle of those very strange creatures…

With nine years my family moved to Salvador/BA. I have been living in

Lajeado/RS since 1979. I am a teacher, speaker. I gave lectures for children,

young adults and adults. I am married with Roque Heck and I am mother of

two children: Aline and Davi. A good memory: My infancy on the edges of the river Paraguaçu, where

in the hottest days of summer I learned to swim. What I don't like: To see the misery and the violence spreading

over the world. Dream: To see men joining to practice the

common good. Flaw: Stubbornness. I insist until obtaining what I

want.

Virtue: I leave it to my friends to

answer. My mark: The optimism.

I hug my friends of today and those that I will conquer tomorrow.
