Welcome to Unley Park Baptist today. It is great to have you with us. If you are new toUnley Park, we appreciate that it can be daunting to walk into a new church, so as muchas we can, we want to help you feel at home here.

In the pew in front of you please find a black folder that contains a white care card foryou to complete.

There is also a "Welcome Pack" available for you that, among other things, has a specialCare Card for you to record your visit and for us to follow up any requests you make.

All Care Cards should be "posted" as you leave the church, in the locked box on the tableby the "Baptistry Door".

    Just a Minute

I was sitting in a cafe the other day and there was a plaque on the wall with the titleCOFFEEOLOGY.It reads........

EXPRESSO yourselfBetter latte than neverTake life one cup at a timeSO MANY BLENDS, SO LITTLE TIMEFriends don't let friends drink bad coffee Take time to smell the coffee DJ BREW: Thefeeling you've had this coffee before

Clearly a clever play on words but dig a little deeper and you'll find the reality that in21st century Australian culture people are more interested in COFFEEOLOGY than

    THEOLOGY.

Coffee is now the dominant hot drink in Australia with 2.1 billion cups bought from cafesand other vendors a year. It is also a global phenomenon. Coffee ranks as the secondmost traded commodity in the world after oil.

Each year some 6-8 billion kilos of coffee beans are produced and sold around the worldproviding over 20,000,000 jobs. That equates to 420 billion cups of coffee!

In a day when we are constantly assaulted by experts, latest research, statistics andshameless self-promotion, it was no surprise to read an article from the AustralianCoffee Traders Association this week called Coffee, the new health drink?

It went on to explain why coffee can be good for your liver, heart, kidneys...and possiblyeven your sex life! No wonder Australians are embracing coffeeology!! It also makes youwonder what and who you can believe these days!!

All this reminds me of something Jesus said in what we refer to as the Sermon on the

Mount. He said,For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Raises an awkward question for us about what we really treasure. What we getpassionate about? What we can and cant live without? What we find time and money for?

This is not meant to sound cute but if we had to go without coffee or our Bible for the

day, which one would we miss the most?

    God BlessNeil
