LITIGATIONOur Litigation and Dispute Resolution team is proficient in concluding early settlements and pre-
litigation resolution of disputes and claims. We analyse and understand the weakness of our
opponent and employ creative strategies based on our expert legal knowledge and procedural
tactics to obtain optimal and favourable settlements. As the Litigation department, contrary to our
name, our primary aim is to avoid litigation whenever possible.

regionally and beyond. Our IP office consists of an extensively experienced team of lawyers, IP
professionals, commercial consultants, paralegals and market researchers, who are present on the
ground in each of the countries we operate.
TLG’s Intellectual Property practice consists of a highly driven and experienced legal team that

The Intellectual Property Department is led by
Senior Partner and Director, Mr. Hatem
Abdel Ghani. He has extensive experience in
the field of IP and his Department is one of

Protection service providers in the UAE
and MENA region.
Hatem relies on his deep knowledge and
expertise in Intellectual Property Rights in
providing insightful advice particularly in
relation to the brand protection strategies of
his portfolio comprising over a hundred high
profile international clients. Due to his high
level of competency in this area, Hatem is
widely acknowledged as an expert to conduct
trainings on behalf of his clients, for the
Intellectual Property enforcement authorities
in the MENA region focusing on eliminating

Depending on the legal form and structure of a company and its respective Trade License, the Federal Law No.
(2) of 2015 on Commercial Companies (“Commercial Companies Law”) in the United Arab Emirates (“UAE”)
requires that companies incorporated by foreign nationals - excluding nationals of the States of the Gulf
Cooperation Council - have a local Emirati sponsor which may be either in the form of a fifty-one percent
(51%) Shareholder or alternatively, a Local Service Agent. With respect to the incorporation of Limited Liability

TECHNICAL ADVISORYThe Technical Advisory Department arose out of a need in the market for experts who can
address technical issues in contracts, that have legal implications. This Department aims to serve
specialized sectors such as the construction, healthcare, insurance, petroleum and other technical
industries. Under this new Department, we have introduced a specialized Construction Advisory
Division with a mission to carefully review and audit construction contracts prior to signature by our
clients.
Our Goal is to assist our clients to anticipate issues which may result in costly litigation and
court awarded damages. The Construction Advisory Division helps our clients to
understand their obligations and risks, while we best serve them by minimizing risk
and preventing expensive litigation.
