There is a few tricks to improving your score in benchmarking( some of them

are not practical for everyday use but help bump up the score none the less)ver the ne*t few paragraphs you'll come to realise that everybodys favouriteoperating system loves to hoard useless files( run useless programs andgenerally sap the heck out of your P"!

owever if you follow these tips( not only will you improve your +#&ark scorebut you will notice a leap in performance in windows and other programs aswell) ,ll these techni-ues work on all Windows operating systems including .Pand /ista)

If you do run into any problems or you are not too sure what you are doing(0ust create a restore point before you make any changes) 1ou'll find this in$ystem configuration utility)

System Configuration2ven when your computer is sat there doing nothing( their could be over 34programs running in the background sapping the heck out of your P"! $o asyou can imagine( it is very important to disable these programs for optimalperformance)

To see what I mean hit "T5 6,5T 6 #252T2 then press the processes tab)This will show you how really busy your "P% really is)

7ow that said and done( let me show you how to deactivate all of the deadwood in one go)

-.To get yourself more "P% performance( head straight start8Windowsorb at the bottom left and corner of your desktop Then press run)

being used at any one time)

/ista owners will have onaverage 94 to :4 programsrunning in the background)

0.The first thing to do in the $ystem "onfiguration is to deactivate all

the unwanted programs that are no longer needed to be running in thebackground)

$o the first place we're going to go to is to the $tartup tab)

1.,s you can see all the bo*es are ticked as default and what thisbasically means is that all the ticked programs are running in thebackground) 7ow to tell you the truth( most of these programs can beunticked because they are not simply needed and take up preciousresources)

owever I would recommend to keep on your anti virus and importantdrivers) 2verything else can be turned off) nce you've unticked whatyou don't need( click apply)

That is everything you can do in your $ystem "onfiguration) ,lthoughafter making all these changes I would recommend rebooting your P"even if your P" doesn't prompt you to)

Uninstalling, fast ardrive is a empty hardrive) $o if you've got an hardrive full to thebrim( delete the programs and games you don't need to speed up yourardrive)

T&P.If there is any games you want to delete but you don't want tolose your saves points) $imply save the game save files( then delete thegame8s) This way you can regain gigs of space that otherwise yourgames would be taking up but yet you don't have to worry about losingyour position in your games H;=

Rebuild the paging file to optimize performanceIf you have noticed that game performance has diminished or that applications

are loading slower than they once did on your P"( you may want to give thistip a try)

By default( Windows does not clear the contents of the paging file
