Marks and Spencer has revealed its new Ladies Spring/Summer campaign and it really has an allstar lineup! The retailer has pulled out all the stops this season to produce a fabulously British campaign, withfabulously British style.

Shot by Annie Leibovitz, 'Leading Ladies' features a wonderfully versatile mix of famous females from actorsand singers, to campaigners and engineers. What they do have in common however, is impeccable style andsome pretty incredible accomplishments!

So who are this season's Leading Ladies?

Annie Lennox singer/songwriter and human rights campaigner

M&S says: "Over the last three decades, Annie’s stylish mix of costume, rock star avatar and simple femininecharm has been both iconic and influential. With more than 80 million record sales worldwide and countlessawards under her belt, she has been described as the “most successful female British artist in UK musichistory”. She is also an avid political and social activist and was awarded an OBE in 2011 for her efforts inraising funds and awareness for HIV/Aids among women and children in Africa."



Emma Thompson actress, author and screenwriter

M&S says: "A true individual, Emma’s dress sense reflects her distinctive personality. She won her firstAcademy Award in 1992 for her role in Howards End and her second for best adapted screenplay for Sense andSensibility, in which she also starred. She has appeared in some of the nation’s favourite films including two inthe Harry Potter series, Love Actually, Nanny McPhee and The Remains of the Day. Outside her acting career,Emma is an international ambassador for ActionAid, Honorary Chair of the Helen Bamber Foundation andPresident of the Teaching Awards."

Rita Ora singer/songwriter

M&S says: "The singersongwriter has a fun and fearless sense of style. Her first album reached number one inthe UK and she was nominated for three awards at the 2013 BRIT Awards."

Rachel Khoo chef, writer and broadcaster

M&S says: "A Saint Martin’s graduate and former fashion PR, chef Rachel has a unique, vintageinspired style.She found success at Paris bookstore and tea salon La Cocotte and now works on culinary projectsinternationally. She has four successful books to her name as well as cookery show The Little Paris Kitchenplus two new shows to air this year. She is currently writing her fifth cookbook."



Lulu Kennedy designer and fashion guru

M&S says: "Lulu has an eclectic style and epitomises London cool. Often referred to as the British fashionindustry’s “fairy godmother” for her knack of taking unknown designers and turning them into fashion stars,Lulu is editoratlarge of British fashion magazine LOVE and runs Fashion East, a nonprofit venture thatmentors young British designers. Her former protégés include House of Holland, Simone Rocha and JonathanSaunders. She has been a big factor in the evolution of London Fashion Week, making it a mustsee event."

Baroness Lawrence campaigner and life peer

M&S says: "Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon OBE has a polished style that reflects her status as a life peer. Awellknown campaigner, she is the mother of British teenager Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in 1993,as a result of which Doreen promoted reforms of the police service and founded the Stephen LawrenceCharitable Trust. She was awarded the OBE for services to community relations in 2003 and was made a lifepeer in 2013."

Alek Wek supermodel, activist and artist

M&S says: "An internationally recognised beauty, Alek Wek was born in South Sudan. In 1991, and at the age of14, she fled her native country to escape civil war. Alek was scouted by a model agent in a London Park fouryears later, and her modelling career was launched. In 1997, she was named “Model of the Year” by MTV, andbecame the first African model to appear on the cover of American Elle. She has been actively supporting theUnited Nations for over a decade was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR in 2013."

Roma Agrawal structural engineer and advocate for technical careers



M&S says: "A young professional with a real sense of style, structural engineer Roma brings the samephilosophy to her engineering designs and wardrobe practicality, uniqueness and aesthetic. She works forWSP, a global firm providing built environment and management consultancy services and is not afraid toshow a pop of colour with her outfits or fresh ideas on construction sites. Her work designing iconic landmark‘The Shard’ has won her numerous awards including ‘Young Structural Engineer of the Year’ by the Institutionof Structural Engineers and ’35 Women under 35’ by Management Today."

The campaign features four shots of the group, all photographed against quintessentially British countrysidebackdrops. The green meadows and soft florals really accentuate the pretty Summer range and of course thenatural beauty of these fabulous models.
