When God gave me the vision for this new evangelistic tool that would enable us to go further with the Gospel with greater efficiency than ever before, Cathy and I got into position to stretch our faith for it. And based on what He’s done for this ministry in the past, we know that He will see this vision through. Hallelujah!

The World Trade Center buzzed like a city within a city on September 11, 2001. The famous Twin Towers topped the Empire State Building by over 100 feet.

Each tower cost over $450 million to build and boasted 97 passenger elevators. The express elevators carried 55 passengers each and rose at the stomach-lurching speed of 1,600 feet per minute.

The towers were built with 200,000 tons of structural steel. There were 425,000 cubic yards of concrete used in its construction, and 43,600 windows gleamed in the morning sun. The amazing architecture of the 110-story towers allowed them to sway three feet in the wind without causing structural damage. For almost thirty years, they withstood horrific winds, blistering sun, snow, and ice.

They each withstood the impact of a 400,000-pound aircraft flying several hundred miles per hour. They could not withstand the intensity of the fire created when 24,000 gallons of jet fuel ignited.

So why, out of all the potential targets in America, did the terrorists choose the World Trade Center? They could have targeted the Hoover Dam, one of the greatest

feats in civil engineering. Destroying the Hoover Dam would have stopped the flow of water and electricity to tens of millions of people. Yet, they did not.

They could have targeted our naval fleet, our submarines, our Air Force or Army.

They could have targeted your house.Why didn’t they?There isn’t enough money there.The Word Trade Center was the financial center of

the world. A partial list of the hundreds of businesses in those towers paints a picture all its own: Asahi Bank, Ashikaga Bank, Baltic Oil, Bangkok Metropolitan Bank, Bank of America, Bank of Kinki, Bank of Yokohama, Boeing Aviation Technical Services, California Bank & Trust, Dun & Bradstreet, French Embassy Financial Services, Fukuoka City Bank, Hyakugo Bank, Shiga Bank, Sumitomo Bank, Toho Bank, Dow Jones & Company, First Commercial Bank, and Fuji Bank & Trust.

They didn’t want to cut off our supply of power. They wanted to cut off our money supply. In the aftermath of the attack, New York City expected to lose an estimated 108,500 jobs. The total lost output to the New York City economy was estimated to be $16.9 billion. The labor compensation due to the lost jobs was estimated at $6.7 billion. None of those figures addressed the spillover effects of having the nation’s airlines shut down or the effect on tourism.

For terrorists, it was all about money. That comes as no surprise since Satan and his crowd always want to control the wealth of the world. The terrorists wanted to hit us in the checkbook, and they did.

But they didn’t succeed at crippling this nation because they don’t understand prosperity. They think prosperity is about possessions.

They reasoned that if they hurt us financially, it would take away our possessions and we would be crippled. What they are too deceived to grasp is that prosperity is not about possessions, it’s about priorities.

While we are a prosperous nation, we aren’t wealthy because we have money.

We have something much more powerful than money.

We have the power to get wealth.

It’s a Message of ObedienceThe power to get wealth is a biblical promise and

that power will rest on this nation as long as the favor of God rests on it. Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV) says, “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

This verse clearly shows that the power to get wealth is linked with establishing God’s covenant on earth. That means our ability to get wealth is linked to our aligning ourselves with God’s priority, which is establishing His covenant.

Those terrorists must have been confounded when America picked herself up, dusted herself off, and began making money again. They fasted all through Ramadan and must have knelt until their knees were bloody, but they still didn’t understand that they couldn’t rob us of the power to get wealth. Only God can do that.

While you could almost feel sorry for terrorists who fight against God’s covenant plan, there is a sad similarity between their thoughts and attitudes and those of many Christians.

What are the similarities? Many Christians believe that prosperity is about possessions. That’s the reason

a lot of folk get so riled up about the prosperity message. They think we’re preaching it so we

can get stuff.The simple truth is that the

prosperity message is not a money message. Prosperity is an obedience message. God gives the power to get wealth, but the manifestation of obedience to that power is money. God

gives the power to get healed, but the manifestation of obedience to that power

is healing. God gives the power for us to get saved, but the manifestation of obedience to that

power is salvation.

The Blessings of God are a Result of Choice, not Chance

I’m going to tell you something that you should write down and memorize. The blessings of God are a result of choice, not of chance.

“Brother Jesse, how can you say that?” someone asked. “I’ve just had rotten luck.”

We have something much

more powerful than money. We have the power to get

wealth.


No, you’ve made rotten choices. God is saying the same thing today that He spoke

through Moses in Deuteronomy chapter 30:

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

That you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV

I want to go back to verse 19 and read it again. “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”

God is giving you a multiple choice question: Which do you want?

A. Life B. Death

Just in case your elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top, He gave you the answer: Choose life!

You Don’t Gamble for RagsThe Bible makes it clear that the blessings of God

are a result of choice, not chance. Yet, a lot of people don’t preach this very basic truth anymore. Why? They’re scared of Christian terrorists who’ll fly into them with accusations.

There is persecution that comes when you preach prosperity, but the Lord told me, “Jesse, don’t you back off that message because it takes money to get the Gospel to every corner of the world.”

“But Jesus was poor!” someone argued.You’re living in a dream world if you believe that.

Have you ever been to a casino? Have you ever heard a gambler say, “I’m putting all my money on those torn-up, old clothes”?

They don’t gamble for rags. Yet the Bible says that Roman soldiers gambled for Jesus’ clothes. They must have looked pretty good. He also had a full-time staff of 12, and a part-time staff of 70.

Wouldn’t you say that the greatest blessing of God is salvation? Well, I wasn’t saved by chance; I was saved by choice. It was my will, but my mother and my wife wouldn’t quit praying for me. I believe that Mama is in God’s face right now saying, “Bless him, God! Bless him!” When a 245-pound Cajun woman tells you to bless, you bless!

So, it doesn’t matter if it is salvation, healing, or prosperity, all of God’s blessings

operate by choice rather than by chance.

You Don’t Qualify for God’s Abundance Until You Become God’s Child

Part of the reason some of you are offended at the prosperity message

is that you don’t know your lineage. I’ve studied mine, and you need to put some time into

studying yours. You see, I am a child of God. I’m in the family. I’m in the lineage of David. I’m in the lineage of Abraham. I’ve been adopted into royalty. I have been chosen by God. I’m in the executive branch of God’s government: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. I’ve got clout. I’m in the cabinet of Heaven. I have angels on assignment for me.

You don’t give those rights to a servant; you give them to a son.

I read the Bible and found out my rights. I have the right to be blessed in the city, blessed in the field, blessed coming in, and blessed going out. I have a document stained by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom I serve.

I can hardly wait to get up every morning. I have an audience with the King of Kings! I am ushered right into His presence. I’m not blessed by chance. I’m blessed by Jesus’ choice to suffer the shame of the cross. I’m blessed because I know that I am a joint heir with Jesus. It just doesn’t get better than that!

When you grasp the deal God is offering you, it’s a slam dunk. God says, “I put before you life and death; blessing and cursing. Don’t be a fool—chose life!” But some people continue to choose death.

Personally, I’m not too big on death, and I’m a very honest man. When I go to funerals, I have to watch myself. I stood beside a coffin one time when a woman came in sobbing. She said, “He looks good doesn’t he?”

I looked in the box. “No…he looks dead to me.”I’ve never seen anybody look good dead. Not once.

The Bible makes it clear

that the blessings of God are a result

of choice, not chance.


They’re dead! There’s no life! So I highly recommend that when you get up every morning, you make the decision to choose life.

Every Spending Decisionis a Spiritual Decision

When you look at money the way God views it, you will realize that prosperity is not about possessions, it’s about priorities. When I prioritize everything in my life to line up with God’s priorities, God’s Word comes to pass—spiritually, physically, and financially. That means that every spending decision is a spiritual decision.

“Brother Jesse, are you against debt?”No, I’m not against debt. I don’t think debt is a

sin, but I think it can be dangerous. Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”

Those who borrow are servant to the lender. The bottom line about debt is this: If you can’t afford it, don’t get it! If you want out of debt, quit spending. Get the scissors and cut up the charge cards.

I borrowed money on a house years ago, and I’ll never forget all the papers I signed. They were all in the interest of the lender. Did you know that in most mortgages there is a clause that allows the lender to call your note? They don’t do it because they make three times the amount borrowed if you pay it out over 30 years. Suddenly, you become subject to the lender.

I began to believe God to be debt-free. People said I was crazy, but I began giving my way out of debt. I’ll never forget the day I paid off my last debt. It was a wonderful thing. But you can’t just stop believing God because you’re out of debt.

You can be out of debt and still be broke. You can’t go anywhere or do anything. A lot of people get out of debt and decide, I’m satisf ied. That’s dangerous because if you’re out of debt and broke, you could still starve to death. I kept sowing my seed and God blessed us. After many, many years at the same bank, I walked in one day and they said, “How are you today, Dr. Duplantis?”

I looked around. “Do you know me?”“Oh, yes.”They knew me because I had so much money in

the bank that if I decided to withdraw it, they would be in trouble. That’s when it dawned on me: They’re working for me now!

When you look at me, you’re looking at a very wealthy man. Yes, I have money but that’s not what makes me wealthy. I’ve got something worth more than all the money in the Federal Reserve. I’m saved by the blood of the Lamb.

That’s great wealth.God will continue to grant me the power to get

wealth as long as my priorities are the same as His. God’s first priority is establishing His covenant on the earth.

Your Prosperity Tomorrow Will be Determined by Your Obedience Today

People believe some strange things. I’ve heard people say, “All I have to do is believe God. I don’t have to do anything, and He will drop success in my lap.”

Again, you’re living in a dream world if you believe that, too! The only place you find success before work is in the dictionary. You’ve got to work. Proverbs 13:4 says, “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”

My daughter said, “Daddy, why do you work all the time? You’re always watching NASDAQ. You’re always watching the Dow.”

“The soul of the diligent shall be made fat,” I said.If I’m operating in this world, I need to have an

idea of what’s going on. I pray for wisdom, and I take the time to learn from people wiser than I. One thing I will not do, however, is take advice from the ungodly. Psalm 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…”

I don’t care if a man is at the top of his field, if he isn’t saved, I won’t listen to his advice. That’s part of the reason I’ve never lost money. I’m diligent about finances and I’m careful about not taking counsel from unbelievers.

My staff knows that I will not waste one dime of the money our Partners put into this ministry. Someday I will have to stand before God and answer Him about how I handled the money He put in my hands.

I’ll never forget one little Polish grandma who could barely speak English. I knew for a fact that she was eating dog food when she pressed a five dollar bill into my hand and said, “I want to do something for God.”

I said, “God, I can’t.”The Lord said, “Take her seed, it’s precious to Me.”She has since gone home to be with the Lord, but

I still think about her. She is a constant reminder to me


that I’m responsible before God for what He has placed in my hands.

God’s Trust is a Great BlessingAn employee of mine came into my office one

morning and put a $15,000 check on my desk. She said, “What account do you want me to put this into?”

“Why are you asking me? You’ve never asked before.”

“I just don’t know where it goes.”“Leave it on my desk and by noon I’ll know what

to do with it,” I said.I asked the Lord what He wanted done with the

money, but He simply said that He would show me. I went on about my business and later Brother Copeland called. God had told him to buy an airplane for another ministry, and for the first time in the history of Kenneth Copeland Ministries, the Lord gave him different orders. God said, “Jesse will help.”

“How much money is needed to get that airplane?” I asked Kenneth.

“Fifteen thousand dollars,” he said.I sat there for a heartbeat and stared

at that check.“You’ll have it by FedEx tomorrow.”I want you to know that it blessed me that my

employee knew by the Spirit of God to bring the check to me. It blessed me to help give a plane to that ministry. But what touched me the most is that God said, “Jesse will help.”

That ministered to me because it meant that God trusted me.

The Lord could have easily provided that fifteen thousand dollars through Kenneth Copeland Ministries, but He let me plant seed toward my next aircraft.

And He trusted me to give by revelation, not by reason.

I have not stopped thanking God for that.Thanksgiving is a vital key to releasing God’s

supernatural power in your life. Ephesians 5:20 says, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to

God and the Father by Him.”Thanksgiving is vitally important to God. It is the

key to releasing His supernatural power in your life. Sometimes I say, “Lord, did I say thank you enough today?”

Often He says, “Yeah, but say it one more time, Jesse.”

Make Evangelism a PriorityOne of the most important lessons I’ve learned

about money is this: If you don’t master your money, your money will master you.

Luke 12:15 says it this way, “And He said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life

consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”

In other words, prosperity is not about possessions, it’s about priorities. Wealth is given to those who make evangelism a priority. And wealth carries with it a grave responsibility. I’ve traveled with Kenneth Copeland to

some of the most remote islands in the world to preach the Gospel. We were on

an island preaching in the pouring rain when the lights went out.

Brother Copeland said, “Get me a flashlight,” and kept on preaching.

I love to preach the Gospel, but when I hear we’ve got a meeting scheduled, I think, Oh God, where?

You’ve never lived until you’ve preached the Word of God in Cold Bay, Alaska. It was so cold that the man who took my bags had one primary responsibility ––to keep the sewer line from freezing. From there, we flew to the Marshall Islands. I thought, Thank You, God, I’m gonna get warm.

It was 105 degrees with 100 percent humidity. It felt like hell. The electric organ corroded in two hours, and they had to blow it dry during the sermon so that they could play it for the salvation altar call. Those people were unable to give enough to pay for the expenses of a meeting like that, but prosperity isn’t about possessions. It’s about priorities, and saving the souls of people in Cold Bay, Alaska, the Marshall Islands, and in other remote areas of the world is a high priority with God.

Virginia: Almost thirteen years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma cancer. I had surgery where they removed eighteen lymph nodes under my right arm, discovering that fifteen were malignant. We have family in the Dallas, Texas area and my brother-in-law was impressed to invite us to the Believers’ Convention. I attended Gloria’s Healing School, after which you laid hands on me and prayed for me. I am grateful on a daily basis for God’s grace and healing touch in my life and joyfully share my testimony to others that need encouragement. It’s so wonderful to be free again!

North Carolina: Thank you for the message “Living in the Faith Zone” in your Voice of the Covenant magazine. There was so much uplifting information in that article. I really needed that message to help me to grow. I thought I needed help from others and the Department of Social Services to make it. After reading the article, what I realize now is that all I have to do is activate the measure of faith that I have. Keep teaching scriptures and preaching messages!

Louisiana: While waiting on my appointment at the hospital, I came across the March 2014 Voice of the Covenant magazine. It was a blessing to read the article “Living in the Faith Zone.” I have never laughed so hard reading an article. The people in the waiting room thought I lost my mind! Your Life Can Be Changed… Friend, if you’re struggling and don’t see a way out, I want you to know that your life can be changed. The first step is knowing Jesus. It’s God’s plan to use each and every one of us to change the world for Him. How can God use YOU to make a change in someone’s life?

Facebook: We need to realize that until we allow Christ to empty our hands of the meager, He can’t fill them with abundance. Remember, what you have now may not be enough, but if you’ll give what you have to Christ, He’ll multiply it back to you.

Facebook: You don’t have to try and figure out how to make ends meet. The Bible says, “God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). We serve a Master Who will never be surprised by our needs. He won’t be shocked and unable to come up with an answer for us. He made us and specializes in helping us. But He requires that we go to Him in faith and have patience while we wait for our answer.

The Intention of

What’s God’s intention for generosity? What’s His real aim? Those questions take me back to a story Dr. Jesse Duplantis told me about the early days of his ministry. The year was 1979 and he was invited to minister during the evening services of a weeklong “Jesus Festival.” The festival was to be held on a remote mountainside in West Virginia. So, just before he made the final leg of the journey to the isolated festival grounds, he stopped at a diner for lunch. While he was eating, he noticed a man sitting across the diner from him and the Holy Spirit said, “Jesse, after you pay for your meal and leave a tip, I want you to give that man all of your money.”

At the time, Brother Jesse had $50, which was worth a lot more in 1979 than it is today. It was the money he’d planned to use for his meals during the week of the Jesus Festival and it was all he had. Now, remember, this was before ATMs and even if he’d been able to send for money from home, it would never arrive in time. Brother Jesse knew that once his $50

was gone, there would be no convenient method of replacing it and no money to buy food. However, he also knew God had spoken and he was prepared to fast meals in order to obey God.

He replied, “Lord, I’ll do it. You’ve been very good and gracious to me and I’m grateful, but You’re going to have to take care of me because this is all I have.” After settling up with the waitress at the diner, he walked over to the man and said, “You don’t know me and I don’t know you, but the Lord told me to give you all of my money.” He laid his remaining money on the table and walked out of the diner.

That night after he ministered, one of the festival organizers approached him and asked, “Do you have any products you would like to sell? If so, we can set up a product table for you.”

Brother Jesse answered, “Yes, I have some eight-track tapes I’d like to sell, but I need to go to my vehicle and get them.” While he was getting the tapes, the thought kept going through his mind, Maybe this is


the way God will replace my $50 and feed me.When he returned to his product table, a steaming

plate of roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a fresh baked roll was waiting to greet Brother Jesse. Along with it came a glass filled with crushed ice and his favorite soft drink. He thought, How did they know I like crushed ice? Maybe this isn’t for me. Someone probably set it on my table and they’re coming back to get it later.

After some time had gone by and no one came to retrieve the food, Brother Jesse asked, “Does this meal belong to someone else?”

“It’s sitting on your table, so it must be yours,” came the reply, “but where’d it come from? The only thing we have at the festival is a small concession stand that serves hot dogs and burgers. You have a full home-cooked meal!”

Brother Jesse didn’t know where it came from, but it tasted like it came from Heaven. At every mealtime thereafter, he was met with a home-cooked meal at his product table. The next night he found chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes with country gravy, corn on the cob, and another roll. And every meal was accompanied with a soft drink full of crushed ice to wash it down.

It became a sign and wonder to everyone around. Were the angels bringing Jesse Duplantis food? A longhaired young man who was ministering at the day sessions asked, “Dear brother, where are you getting all of this good food?” His name was Benny Hinn. Brother Jesse replied, “Benny, I don’t know where it’s coming from, but I’m grateful!”

It wasn’t until eight years later that Dr. Duplantis found out where the meals had come from. While preaching at a conference, a woman and her husband approached him and she asked, “Did you like my cooking?”

“What do you mean?” he replied.“Do you like how I cook?” she asked.Trying to remember if he had ever met this woman

before, much less if he’d ever eaten her cooking, it suddenly dawned on him: she was the one! She had to be the one who’d cooked all those meals for him at the Jesus Festival.

“You’re the one!” he exclaimed. “You’re the one who fed me at the Jesus Festival in 1979. Why did you do it?”

She replied, “I saw you out of my camper window and the Lord told me to feed you every single meal that week. No one else, just you.”

Dr. Duplantis gratefully thanked her for her

obedience and generosity, but never told her that on the way to the festival he had given away all of his money and had no way to buy food. While thanking her he thought, It always moves me that someone would give me anything—just the fact that God would care for me in that way touches me so much.

As it happened, in the same year while he was ministering at another event, the man from the diner to whom he’d given all of his money back in 1979 came up to him and said, “Brother Jesse, I can’t tell you how much your gift meant to me. I’m a pastor, but on that day I was determined to leave the ministry. It seemed that none of my prayers were ever answered and I was convinced that God didn’t care for me as He did others. When someone who didn’t even know me came up and said the Lord told them to give me all of their money, I knew I must matter to God and that He cared about me. I stayed in the ministry and pastor a successful church.”

I have to admit; when I first heard this story, I was wondering if it was angels who were feeding Dr. Duplantis on that mountainside in 1979. However, when I found out it was a person—a person who’d done the same thing Dr. Duplantis had done in the diner, a person who’d noticed someone across the way and obeyed God with a generous and kind heart—the story meant even more to me.

This sort of generosity and kindness is all too rare. I’m convinced that many of the delays we see in answered prayer are because people do not notice others and do not yield to God’s impulses of generosity. It’s sad, because this manner of generosity is life-changing.

You see, this story captures God’s intention for generosity. In the story everyone was either deeply moved to act generously or deeply moved by generosity. Generosity is not just about the giving or the acts of kindness; it does something to our hearts. Generosity is transformational. It’s capable of changing everyone and everything it touches.

In Genesis 12:2, the Lord says to Abraham, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.”

Notice that the end result of the blessing in Abraham’s life was, “Thou shalt be a blessing.” The Hebrew word translated as “be” in Genesis 12:2 also means “become.” According to Noah Webster’s 1828 Edition of the American Dictionary of the English Language, the word “become” means, “To pass from one state to another; to enter into some state or condition… by assuming or receiving new properties or qualities,

additional matter, or a new character.” When you’re blessed, it’s not just your possessions or status that change—you change. When you’re blessed, your person becomes an identical match to the blessing that’s been imparted to you.

It’s the same Hebrew word translated as “became” in Genesis 2:7: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Like Abraham, you are blessed to become a blessing (Galatians 3:14). As stated before, the blessing of God is not just about prospering materially; it’s about receiving a new character and becoming a different person than you were before. The blessing of God is not just about receiving an impartation; it’s also about transformation—it’s meant to change your heart, your mind, and your very life.

According to the Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament, the Hebrew word for blessing means a “verbal blessing…to endue with power for success, prosperity, fecundity, longevity, etc…Its major function seems to have been to confer abundant and effective life upon something.” However, this is extremely important, “Whatever may have been the ancient near eastern conception of the source of blessing, the Old Testament sees God as the Only Source…As a result, those who are wrongly related to God can neither bless nor be blessed and no efficacious word can alter this. Those

who are blessed manifest God’s hesed and emet. To rely upon the existence of the covenant between oneself and God without manifesting His Nature is to (attempt to) bless oneself and to court disaster.”

Did you notice those Hebrew words “hesed” and “emet”? They mean “lovingkindness” and “truth.” In other words, you cannot expect the abundant life that an impartation of God’s blessing brings without also desiring the godly character that the transformational quality of God’s blessing brings. God’s abundant generosity and lovingkindness towards us are meant to produce abundant generosity and lovingkindness from us towards others.

I once heard someone say, “It’s not just the tithe that God wants; it’s what the tithe produces in our hearts that God wants.” The prophets understood lovingkindness as one of God’s central desires from His people. While many people associate religion with the performance of rituals or liturgy, the prophet Hosea taught that God’s priorities were different: “For I desire lovingkindness (hesed) not sacrif ice.” (Hosea 6:6 The Tanach)

So what’s the real aim of generosity? It’s not complicated. It’s what God has always desired: He wants to love you, He wants your love, and He wants you loving others. In a very real sense, it ends up with all of us Reaching People, Changing Lives, One Soul at a Time. a

Throughout the Bible we are told about a God that specializes in doing the impossible. He created the world out of nothing, hung it on nothing, and it became something. When the Children of Israel were in the wilderness and had nothing to eat, He gave them something—manna from Heaven. During a great drought, God sent ravens to feed the Prophet Elijah and turned his nothing into something. And when a destitute widow had nothing but a little pot of oil, God supernaturally turned her nothing into something. Now that is power!

Jesus was the same way. He never freaked out when multitudes of people stopped by unexpectedly for lunch, or if the fishing business was bad, or when taxes had to be paid. He supernaturally multiplied food, commanded the fish of the sea to swim into the disciples’ empty net, and in every situation He abundantly supplied every need. In John 10:10, He said, “...I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

Just like that widow woman with nothing but a pot of oil, you may think that your situation is hopeless and that nothing can get you out of the mess that you are in. But God is not limited to natural ways to meet your need. He moves in a much higher realm. He looks for opportunities to help you turn your nothing into something.

Stop Looking at Nothing—DO Something! Time after time, the disciples saw Jesus do the

miraculous. The King James Bible says in Acts 10:38 that He “…went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” Blind eyes had to see, lame legs had to walk, and deaf ears had to hear because God had anointed Him with the Holy Ghost and with power. Each situation He encountered was another opportunity for God to be glorified. He was never overwhelmed by circumstances. He overcame every situation, including a cruel death on the cross of Calvary.

On two different occasions the disciples saw Jesus feed multitudes with a few small fish and loaves of bread. Yet, when they were hungry and had one loaf to split between only twelve of them, they failed to do something about it. They focused on their lack of bread and did not remember the power of God that was available to them to multiply the bread. Jesus wanted them to learn how to turn their nothing into an abundant supply.

Let’s read the story in Mark chapter eight:

Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

When I brake the f ive loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto Him, Twelve.

And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

And He said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

Many people see what they have as nothing and decide to give up and do nothing. The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places, but God wants us to understand His principles and begin to DO something! The secret of success is to be like a duck: smooth and unruffled on top, but paddling furiously underneath.

You may be asking, “What can I do?” Many times, God’s answer to you will be a question, “What do you have?”

When your situation looks hopeless, you don’t have to stand around and do nothing. God can use whatever is in your hand. You may think your hands are empty, but they are not. Your hands can always pray, praise, sow, and serve.

By an act of your will, you can change your defeat into victory. You can decide to obediently follow the leading of the Spirit of God and do what is in your hand to do. You see, faith without works is nothing, but faith with works is something.

There are three kinds of people in the world: the Wills, the Won’ts, and the Can’ts. The Wills accomplish everything, the Won’ts oppose everything, and the Can’ts fail in everything! But you don’t have to lose at the game of life. You can become a winner!

A winner says, “Let’s find out.” A loser says, “Nobody knows.” When a winner makes a mistake, he says, “I was wrong.” When a loser makes a mistake, he says, “It wasn’t my fault.” A winner goes through a problem; a loser

goes around it and never gets past it. A winner makes commitments; a loser makes empty promises. A winner says, “I’m good, but not as good as I ought to be.” A loser says, “I’m not as bad as a lot of other people are.” A winner tries to learn from those who are superior to him. A loser tries to tear down those who are superior to him. A winner says, “There ought to be a better way to do it.” A loser says, “That’s the way it’s always been done here.”

I heard the story about a congregation that met to pray for rain to release a long dry spell. The preacher looked severely at his flock and said, “Brothers and Sisters, y’all know why we are here. Now, what I want to know is, where are your umbrellas?”

Real Bible faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible, and receives the impossible. When you sow, expect a harvest every time. When you pray, expect a result every time. Don’t just tell others about the labor pains you are going through, show them the baby. Don’t stop believing until you deliver! God always has a plan to help you turn your nothing into something.

God’s Plan to Multiply and IncreaseI love what the Word has to say about God’s plan to

multiply and give increase to you and me—His children. Let’s read what it says in Deuteronomy chapter seven:

Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful

God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and

keep His commandments, to a thousand generations…

And He will love you, bless you, and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your land, your grain, your new wine, and your oil, the increase of your cattle and

the young of your flock in the land which He swore to your fathers to give you…

And the Lord will take away from you all sickness….

Deuteronomy 7:9,13,15

God has always had a plan to bless and prosper His creation. Adam and Eve were told to be fruitful and multiply. Abraham was promised a great increase that was compared to the stars in the heavens. Moses acknowledged God’s increase to the Children of Israel and prayed in Deuteronomy 1:11, “May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you as He has promised you!” There are no

limitations when it comes to God’s ability and desire to multiply and increase every area of life.

I don’t believe they were just talking about having a bunch of kids when they heard the promise of increase. Parents that are unable to feed, clothe, and provide for their children are miserably heartbroken people. The thousandfold increase would have been a curse without an equal increase in wealth to meet their daily needs.

God Supplies Your SeedGod has promised to provide the seeds that you are to

sow. 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 says:

And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].

Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God.

Now, when God reveals what you are to do with the seed that He gives, it is vitally important that you are obedient. Otherwise, you will bind His ability to meet your need.

You see, the principles that God established in His Word are designed to guide you out of the desert and into the land of milk and honey. Even when things look their worst, our God specializes in making a way where there is no way.

When the Children of Israel came out of Egypt, they were happier, healthier, and wealthier than they had ever been in their lives. God gave them silver, gold, and land so that they might observe His statutes and keep His laws.

Psalm 105:37,43-45 says:

He brought [Israel] forth also with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes…

And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen ones with gladness and singing,

And gave them the lands of the nations [of Canaan], and they reaped the fruits of those peoples’ labor,

That they might observe His statutes and keep His laws [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying them]. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

A few years ago, I read in Exodus 24 about how Moses stood in the presence of God for seven days and seven nights. I had never noticed it before, but it wasn’t until after seven days of silence that God spoke to Moses. Exodus 25 begins, “And the Lord said….”

I’m certain that Moses was hanging on for that first word from God. What vitally important information would the Creator impart to him on the smoking Mount Sinai? He must have been listening intently to hear the first words to him from the lips of God. What would they be?

“…Take for Me an offering….”I don’t think Moses said, “What? These people have

been slaves for four hundred years without a penny to their name. And now, just when they are starting to get ahead, You want me to pass the offering bucket. Are You sure, God?”

Moses, full of thanksgiving to God for delivering the people out of bondage, was obedient to God. The Hebrew children grew up hearing about the principles of giving and receiving. They were ready to be blessed, along with faithful Abraham, and inherit the promise of abundance.

The Bible tells us that those that were of a willing heart brought their offering to God. His plan to start the flow of increase for His children could not begin until they were obedient and wise to sow the seed that was provided by God. Only then could they expect the promise of increase to work for them. “But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18).

Now, some people cringe or get offended when it is offering time. But giving is God’s plan to set His people free from lack and bring them into abundance. Just as it was essential to the success of the Hebrew children to have a willing heart to give, it is equally important to your future success. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord…to give you a future and a hope” ( Jeremiah 29:11 NLT).

There is so much to learn in the Word of God concerning giving and receiving. But the most important thing to remember is that you don’t have to begin by yourself. God is faithful and He will supply the seed for you to sow. Now don’t be foolish and eat your seed. Regardless of how insignificant it may seem to you, when that seed is planted by faith in the fertile soil of God, harvest is on its way. It’s part of God’s plan to help you turn your nothing into something! a
