COMENIUS PROJECT

Diary ~ 7-13 May 2015

THURSDAY 7th MAY The last meeting of the Comenius project was in

Spain, exactly in Palma de Mallorca. The italian team was made up of Amato Stefany, Benina Margherita, Grasso Alessandro, Munafó Giulia, Pignataro Anna and the english teacher

N. Severino.Our trip started on Thursday Morning of the seventh

of May 2015 when loaded down with our luggage, we went to the airport and we took our plane at 1 p.m.

After a stop in Barcelona, we arrived in Palma de Mallorca around half past six in the afternoon. Here we were warmly welcomed by our host families who took us into their houses showing an incredible hospitality. After having dinner, we were tired so we went to sleep.

FRIDAY 8th MAY It was so that started the second day, eighth of May. Arrived at school, we knew the

teachers and our hosts' class and all together with people from other countries we went to the Auditorium for the welcome cerimony and explanation of the Comenius visits. After that the Spanish team prepared for us Catalan lessons based on games like tongue-twisters for learning colours and daily questions. For example : what's your name is said " Como te llama?" Then we had physical education lesson where two teachers organized some other games in order to know all partecipants better.

Later, after the actvities, we had lunch at home. During the afternoon  we went shopping in Palma de Mallorca's streets, we ate "Ensaimada", traditional food, and we spent nice time all together. Then we came back home to be ready for dinner at school and so we went to the Welcome Party where we danced, sang and played the guitar.

SATURDAY 9th MAY The third day was the "Tourist day" because

in the morning we visited Coves del Drach, a spectacular natural place where there was a show infact a pianist played in a boat and after that we swam and relaxed on the beach, instead in the afternoon we visited Formentor and Alcudia, really beautiful places !!

Then we took the bus and we came back home for getting dressed. In the evening someone played pool, someone danced in a club.

SUNDAY 10th MAY The fourth day, Sunday 10th May, we

visited Castell de Belliver where we had an amazing view and we took a lot of photos. Later we went to Valldemosa, city famous for the Polish composer Fredric Chopin, here we spent good time and we ate some traditional food.

In the afternoon, after having a picnic, we started Sa Foradada trekking trip: it was very hard but when we arrived at the destination we swam in a clear sea !

In the evening we had a beach party where we danced, played ball, sang, played guitar and so when we came back home we were very happy because it was the funniest evening !

MONDAY 11th MAY The fifth day was the "Workshop day". All together, including teachers, met in the

Auditorium, every country showed very interesting science project through a video or a demonstration; we were the last and for being modest, we were the funniest because we did a sketch called "The M. Etna in a jar".

After having lunch, we visited the city of Palma de Mallorca with its spectacular cathedral called "La Seu", the palace of Almudaina and the Ajuntament (Palma city Hall).

In the evening, in our freetime, we danced in our Spanish friend's club but before we had dinner all together. We have lovely memories about this because we liked it so much !!

TUESDAY 12th MAY On Tuesday 12th May, we had lessons for one hour after that we visited Palma

Aquarium, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. We saw a lot of fishes, they were so amazing in particular we loved sharks.

Later we went to the beach for doing sports and swimming. Then we had our freetime, it was so loving because we started all together to cry : the last day was coming… !!

In the evening we had dinner in a garden near La Seu, here we took a lot of wonderful photos that we won't forget.

WEDNESDAY 13th MAY So the last day arrived, Wednesday

13th May. We met at school with the friends from other countries, we all wrote nice thoughts about each other that we will keep forever but it was so sad also because the Estonian team left at 11 a.m., then was the turn of Greek Team and at 12 p.m ours.

We said goodbye to our families and our new friends and we took the plane at 1 p.m.. We arrived in Sicily 1 a.m. after a stop in Rome.

CONCLUSION It was the most beautiful experience of our lives because

we met funny, kind and ….wonderful people that we are sure we will never forget.

This project is the demonstration that we are all the same and different cultures can't stop us but on the contrary they allow us to create unforgettable friendships. We love you all so much.
