Love Offering - We are collecting a love offering in appreciation for Rev. David Mellnik's time as our Associate Pastor of Music and Worship. Please consider how you can show David your appreciation for his service to Knightdale Baptist. Church Office Closed - Wednesday, July 4th. No Wednesday Night activities. Properties Committee Meeting - Thursday, July 5th at 7:00 PM in the Conference Room. Gospel Concert Series - Saturday, July 7th, Old Time Spirit of Baptist Tabernacle will be here at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary. A fellowship gathering will follow downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring a dish to share and invite your friends and neighbors.

VBS 2018 - Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus, July 9th – July 13th. Current needs: 1) Sponsor a volunteer dinner: currently we need 4 nights of dinners supplied for our VBS volunteers. Please consider sharing the cost with your Sunday School class or another family. We will need to

feed about 30-40 individuals at each meal. 2) Snack supplies: vanilla pudding cups (at least 60 needed), 6 boxes of graham crackers, multicolored goldfish, small pretzel sticks, 3 jugs of tropical fruit punch, and 2 bags of large marshmallows. For more information, please contact Rebecca West or Dorrie Boyd at [email protected]. Trip to Sunni Sky’s - Sunday, July 22nd. We will meet at Sunni Sky’s (8617 NC-55, Angier) at 3:00 PM. They are a cash-only ice cream stand with outdoor seats and 100+ flavors, plus shakes and sundaes. Everyone is invited, so come enjoy some homemade ice cream with us!

Dr. Wayne Hager has served as the Church Administrator at First Baptist Church, Raleigh (Salisbury Street) since March, 2015. Wayne has served churches in Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina as pastor for over 30 years. A native of Lexington, KY, Wayne is a graduate of the University of Kentucky (BGS ’78) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv ’81, PhD ’87), with additional graduate work at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, OH. He is a certified Intentional Interim Minster. Since leaving the full time pastorate in 2014, he has served First Baptist Church, New Bern, NC, as Interim Preacher and Nobels Chapel Baptist Church in Sims, NC, as Interim Pastor. Wayne is the Co-Coordinator of the Greater Triangle Area CROP Hunger Walk and trustee of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, VA. Wayne’s wife of 33 years, Rev. Joy Crutchfield Hager, died at Christmas time in 2015 after a courageous fight against cancer. Joy and Wayne have three adult children: Matthew, Nathan (spouse Mary), and Laura (spouse Cody). In late September 2018 Wayne will be a first time grandfather to Adalee Joy.
