Roebin’s Notes... The answer is, “YES, I was certainly surprised!” I knew I was going to eat, but I was going to a tasting party for someone who was considering opening a new restaurant in Georgetown. As the Hartmans drove us to this tasting party, I was shocked at the number of cars that were in Tunnel Hill’s parking lot. I thought, “Boy, this is a bigger deal than I had imagined.” Of course, who doesn’t like free food! Especially if it’s made by someone who is considering opening a restaurant. It took me a bit of time to process what was actually going on. Friendly faces, applause, my mom. My mom? What’s she doing at this tasting party??? Hey, I know these people! Wheels turning, losing traction, skidding sideways… “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore!” It has been our privilege to serve alongside you at Georgetown Christian Church for these 30 years. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for giving me good advice along the way. I know some people don’t like what they do. I know some people can’t stand what they do. Absolutely not so with me! These 30 years have shown us a fair share of ups and downs; but to be totally truthful, I can’t think of anything else I would rather do. And, I can’t think of anyplace else I would rather do it! I know a party of that magnitude was no small feat. It took a lot of work! I am impressed! There had to be MANY of you all working together to pull this off! Add to that the fact that you are a bunch of really sneaky people! I can be rather easily fooled. But to keep Rose in the dark? Now that is something! I am impressed. I am surprised. I am humbled. I am blessed. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Keeping you connected The Journal October 2014

Roebin’s Notes...The answer is, “YES, I was certainly surprised!” I knew I was going to eat, but I was going to a tasting party for someone who was considering opening a new restaurant in Georgetown. Wheels turning, losing traction, skidding sideways… “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore!” It has been our privilege to serve alongside you at Georgetown

God has chosen prayer as a primary way of releasing his power into the lives of His children. We do not know why, but we know that He is moved by the prayers of His kids. Will you join in at least one of the prayer ministries available at GCC and then pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ? Current GCC prayer ministries include:1) E-mail prayer list receives Sunday " morning prayer requests written on " back of attendance sheets as well as " mid-week requests. Email Anne at " [email protected].
