Master Scienti c Research Technologist
The Master Scienti c Research Technologist position available with the University of Arkansas Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is responsible for troubleshooting and the repair, calibration, testing and maintenance of electronic and mechanical equipment, such as mass spectrometers, centrifuges, lasers, spectrophotometers, liquid and gas chromatographs, electron microscopes, NMR spectrometers, vacuum pumps, temperature controllers and general-purpose scienti c equipment. Skills include component level troubleshooting, electronic circuit fabricating, basic machine tool operation such as drill press, band saw, lathe, mill, and grinder. Excellent hand/eye coordination is required to perform essential functions such as soldering, circuit repair, and ne manipulation of components.Minimum Quali cations: A Bachelors degree in Electronics or related eld plus 2 years of work experience is required.
Preferred Quali cations: Preferred quali cations are a boiler operator license, factory training on major scienti c equipment operation and maintenance. Preference for military or vocational training.
Entry level salary of $40,000 offered with bene ts. Anticipated start
date of 01/04/2016.
