Since 1977, The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development has supported the social, economic and cultural steadfastness of the Palestinian people as

they struggle for freedom and self-determination. It has worked with

grassroots organizations in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, in Israel, and in

Lebanon, channeling humanitarian aid to initiatives that assist the young, the old, the

disadvantaged, and the disinherited.

The Jerusalem Fund’s support is distributed in the form of small grants ranging between

$1,000 – 5,000 to clinics, schools, orphanages, charitable societies, human

rights groups, and other nongovernmental humanitarian organizations.

Since the start of the second Intifada in September of 2000, The Jerusalem Fund has made it a priority to provide funding for non-political / non-sectarian humanitarian relief projects in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Wi’am Center for Conflict Resolution

In the context of a crumbling Palestinian social and economic infrastructure, The Jerusalem Fund is helping to fund the Wi’am Center’s “Palestinian

Apprenticeship Project” – which not only seeks to increase the income of impoverished families

through the creation of jobs, but to also develop new skills in younger generations, and match those

skills with potential future employers.

Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees

Due to increased economic hardships, many Palestinian women have been unable to continue

with their education. In partnership with the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, The Jerusalem Fund has pledged to subsidize part of their tuitions and travel expenses in the hopes that this will help empower women to become the future leaders of

Palestine.

Reach Out and Care Wheels, Inc.

This year, The Jerusalem Fund also supported ROC Wheels, Inc.’s mission to distribute 200

wheelchairs in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Furthermore, the Fund provided financial

ATTA Services Aid to the Aged

In addition, your donations made it possible for the Fund to help establish and upgrade community

support services and centers for elderly Palestinians. These centers now provide care for

hundreds of aged Palestinians in Broqeen, Ramallah, Taybeh, and Bethlehem.

Most recently, The Jerusalem Fund utilized your donations to subsidize the training of 200

students and professionals in the subject of “sensory integration & auditory processing

disorders” – allowing, for the first time, Palestinian & Lebanese children with Autism to be

treated with Sound Therapy.

The Jerusalem Fund awards grants to projects that have a multiplier

effect and build sustainable capacity for socio-economic and cultural development. Support is not normally given for the routine operating expenses of institutions or for religious activities, but for those projects aimed directly at

bringing about progressive change in the shattered region.

Peace

Strict reporting requirements and regular visits by Fund board and staff

ensures the proper distribution of funds and project monitoring.

Funding for grants given by The Jerusalem Fund are made possible by donations

received from concerned American citizens like you. We are grateful for your support as

it provides a critical lifeline for many Palestinians who without charitable aid

could not otherwise survive.

Thank You

Our work, however, cannot continue without further support.

Strengthening Humanitarian Relief

With an unemployment rate of nearly 45% in the

West Bank villages of Kufur Neima and

Beliin, The Jerusalem Fund is planning a

partnership with the Ayyam Zaman Center in order to distribute food baskets to 100 Palestinian families suffering under the

devastation of a collapsed economy.

These baskets will consist of such

simple household goods as rice, sugar,

and tea Jenin

There are, however, roughly 6,500 Palestinian men, women, and children residing in these two villages who we

will be unable to help without your support.
