UNSSC16th edition of the Orientation Programme for Junior Professional Officers. The programmetook place at the UN Campus in Turin (Italy) from 17 to 29 September 2018. It was attended by 69 participants, based in 30 different duty stations across the UN System.Participants were sponsored by five donor countries: Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland and Belgium.

“The 2018 Orientation Programme for JPOs was the XV edition of the programme. Since 2003, UNSSC, in partnership with UNDESA and various donor countries, trained 699 JPOs.”
In the past five years the two-week orientation programme at the UNSSC scored the following ratings:
2014 - 4,9 out of 62015 - 5,3 out of 62016 - 5,2 out of 62017 - 4,3 out of 62018 - 4,6 out of 6
With a combined average of 4,8 out of 6 (=80%) by 212 respondents

Agreements with IOs- Currently Italy has 25 JPO Agreements with international organizations. Of these, one covers 8 agencies and another all UN Secretariat entities. The most recent additions were OPCW and IDLO in 2018.
- In the past 10 years Italy placed JPOs in 57 entities.
- Between 2004 and 2018, the number of UN entities which received fellows in their country or project offices grew from 7 to 17. These are: FAO, IOM, DESA, UNAIDS, UNCDF, UNDP, UNECE, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNOCHA, UNODC, UNOPS, UNRC, UNRWA, UNWOMEN, WFP.
