A Great Success!
Black History as Taught through the Bible was presented for
the third consecutive year at Governors State University,
University Park, IL. This is the first year we presented the
complete five part series. It was presented by Bro. Sidney
Thomas and the Evangelists. The series was hosted again by
the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society and for the
first time, InterVarsity Christian Student Club. Many thanks to
Bro. Sidney and the Evangelists for their hard work and
dedication, to Stevie and Renee Robinson for blessing us with
their songs, and to all who supported us in – shinning God’s
light through the darkness.

'70,000 BLACK WOMEN ARE MISSING…WHY?'
By B. Jordan The number of missing Black women
in America was at 64,000, but has risen to over 70,000 and no one seems to care. When was the last time you saw an "Amber Alert" for a missing Black woman or child? For me, it's been months, but our children are disappearing daily as well as our teens and younger women. It is believed by many that these women are being used as sex-slaves, domestic servants or for illegal organ trafficking. Please be aware of where you are as well as your daughters. There are many scams out there trying to lure young teens from 14-18 and younger women from 19-25 into modeling or traveling deals promising them huge sums of money. You'll notice signs on lamp posts or in the grass offering them money. Don't take the bait. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is, so do what's right and stay in school or get a job. It's not just Black women that are being kidnapped; it's also Latina and Indigenous women as well. White women are kidnapped too, but they get the media coverage the other women don't get. Here are some tips for how to keep safe:
Pay Attention - put your phone away and watch
the people around you. You are gifted by God
with Intuition, so never ignore it. If you feel
you're being followed, find a safe place
(restaurant or store) where there are plenty of
people around. Always let family or friends
know where you are.
Travel in Pairs or in Groups - Be each other's
keeper and look out for one another.
Never take the same way home or to
work/school - by doing this it will make you
aware if you see the same person/people on
your routes. Be safe and report the information
to security or the police.
Learn some self defense - Always think about
what you would do if someone tried to take you.
Have a plan already in your mind and make as
much noise as you can.
If you are driving - Don't stop for the police, call
911 and tell them you are being followed by the
police and will stop at the nearest gas station or
police station. Stay on the phone; don't hang up
until you arrive. Always keep your doors
locked and windows up.
Parents - tell your children what to do if
someone tries to take them. Don't write their
names on the front of their backpacks. When
children hear someone call them by name they
think the person knows you or someone in the
family. Keep the school and your child informed
on who is picking them up each day.
Be careful who you entertain - whether in
person or through Social Media, there are
criminals all over, so again, be CAREFUL.

term referring to a large area in the
Eastern Mediterranean). It is also a Semitic personal name or
surname used by Arabic and Hebrew-speaking people.
Canaan /ˈkeɪnən/; Northwest Semitic knaʿn; Phoenician: Biblical ebrew/ asoretic [Kənā‘an; Ḵənā‘an] was a
Semitic-speaking region in the Ancient Near East during the
late 2nd millennium BC. In the Bible it corresponds to the
Levant, in particular to the areas of the Southern Levant that
provide the main setting of the narrative of the Hebrew Bible,
i.e., the area of Israel, Philistia, Phoenicia, and other nations.
The name Canaan occurs commonly in the Hebrew Bible,
with particular definition in references Genesis 10 and
Numbers 34, where the "Land of Canaan" extends from

the Jordan River Valley. References to Canaan in the Bible are
usually backward-looking, referring to a region that had
become something else (i.e., the Land of Israel).
The term Canaanites serves as an ethnic catch-all term
covering various indigenous populations—both settled and
nomadic-pastoral groups—throughout the regions of the
southern Levant or Canaan.[1] It is by far the most frequently
used ethnic term in the Bible,[2] which commonly describes
Canaanites as a people which, in the Book of Joshua are
marked down on a list as one of the nations to be
exterminated,[3] and later as a group which the Israelites had
annihilated.[4]
Archaeological attestation of the name Canaan in Ancient
Near Eastern sources relates almost exclusively to the period
in which the region operated as a colony of the New Kingdom
of Egypt (16th–11th centuries BC), with usage of the name
almost disappearing following the Late Bronze Age collapse
(ca. 1206–1150 BC).[5] The references suggest that during
this period the term was familiar to the region's neighbors on
all sides, although scholars have disputed to what extent such
references provide a coherent description of its location and
boundaries, and regarding whether the inhabitants used the
term to describe themselves.[6] The Amarna Letters and other
cuneiform documents use Kinaḫḫu [Kinakh'khu], while other
sources of the Egyptian New Kingdom mention numerous
military campaigns conducted in Ka-na-na.[7]
The name Canaanites kǎnā‘anīm, kǎnā‘anī, chana‘ani) is attested, many centuries later, as the endonym of the people later known to the Ancient Greeks from c. 500 BC as Phoenicians,[4] and following the
emigration of Canaanite speakers to Carthage, was also used
as a self-designation by the Punics (chanani) during Late
Antiquity. This mirrors later usage in later books of the
Hebrew Bible, such as at the end of the Book of Zechariah,
where it is thought to refer to a class of merchants or to non-
monotheistic worshippers in Israel or neighboring Sidon and
Tyre, as well as in its single independent usage in the New
Testament, where it is alternated for "Syrophoenician" in two
parallel passages.
Canaan had significant geopolitical importance in the Late
Bronze Age Amarna period (14th-century BC) as the area
where the spheres of interest of the Egyptian, Hittite, Mitanni
and Assyrian Empires converged. Much of the modern
knowledge about Canaan stems from archaeological
excavation in this area at sites such as Tel Hazor, Tel
Megiddo, and Gezer.

needs the word, as the key, to open the
gates to enter that great city (REV.22:14). God gave man six
thousand years to work for the key to that great city
(REV.22:27).

the mind of God to know good and evil. Therefore God
knows where man is; either in the light, or in the darkness.

The misinterpretation of things that taste sweet or salty tricks
your body into ingesting bug killer and weed killer genes, and
your gut is CREATING pesticide. Did you not know?
Why do you think the people who are so adamant about
banning GMO are so dogmatic when they speak about it?
They know. They don't want cancer. Listen to them.
You can't wash off GMO, so you better buy organic fruits,
vegetables, nuts and seeds.

Requests for the I.O.G. repast services will be provided as follows:
Sunday thru Thursday ONLY
No services on Fridays, the Sabbath day or Feast days
Deceased must have been a member of the I.O.G. class or an
immediate family member of an I.O.G. class member:

* Unmarried Daughters
The Funeral Service must be provided by the I.O.G. and the
Repast service must be held in the I.O.G. Banquet Hall
I.O.G. Repast Committee must coordinate all food donations; no
outside food will be accepted.

'The Potters Clay'
“But now, O LORD, thou art our
father; we are the clay, and thou
our potter; and we all are the
work of thy hand. “ – Isaiah 64:8
Jesus is the potter and I am the clay. Whip me
into shape Lord this very day so I won’t stray.
Beat me if you must for the sins I committed
yesterday. Mold me into that which I was born to
be, create in me what you desire of me.
Expose the potential you created in me for the
fear of failure has crippled me. Scrub away those
rough edges all around me for I can be abrupt
with others who annoy me. Squeeze the iniquity
right out of me. Shape me into that which you
created me to be.
This world of confusion has infected me –
corrupted me – made a liar out of me. Wanting
the finer things in life have exposed me to greed
and the negative side of prosperity. I’m tempted
to do those things I know God would not approve
of me. Those temptations of the flesh wants –
what it wants – when it wants – it’s driven by
sinful thoughts? This flesh is trying to kill me

separate me from God and all the blessings he
has in store for me.
I was once a beautiful vase etched in love formed
by the hands of God Almighty. I was created in
God’s image a vessel strong and sturdy the
ability to do God’s work. A vessel which
contained love, hope and faith – now filled with
lies and deception, corrupted by man-made
traditions. Such a beautiful vase was I who fell
from God’s grace – broken when I disobeyed his
Ten Commandments.
I am the clay that the potter Jesus created. Clay
hardened – exposed to the storms of life – once
sheltered when I put my trust and faith in God.
Consumed with negativity I didn’t build my house
on that rock called Jesus. I have fallen, my spirit
is broken I’m unable to mend myself –help me –
put me back on the shelf of Salvation.
The word of God is that glue that can reunite
you. Only the hands of God can gather the pieces
of your existence putting you back together –
this time forever.
“And the vessel that he made of clay was
marred in the hand of the potter: so he
made it again another vessel, as seemed
good to the potter to make it.”
- Jeremiah 18: 4
